Put it this way, late 70's & 80's and early 90's even you would go the game aged 13-19 with all your mates......the same age group now majority sit at home or watch in the pub..........so eventually there has to be a period when the tipping point is reached...........maybe it won't effect the clubs with high numbers of out of town fans but it will effect the others

Mate, we sat next to three tourists who had each paid £50 to watch the FA Cup third round Fulham Wolves tie last season, thinking it was a PL game. At half time I asked if they had any more mates waiting outside who wanted to watch the rest of the game from my seat for for a tenner.

Put a price on a ticket and they will come. They may all be foreign, or Scouse, but they will come. Eh?

Simple economics says it can't continue forever, i maybe proven wrong but i am convinced something has to change in the next 10 years drastically or we will be in empty stadia or at least smaller attendances. Prices will have to drop to keep the punters coming especially at junior level.

Why would PL clubs be remotely interested in whether kids come in the door at a reduced rate? The gate attendance is relatively unimportant to them anyway. If you've got billions in TV money floating around, many of them would willingly fill their grounds with large numbers of sheep. Several clubs already do.

Don't like it? Go and watch any number of non-league clubs round your neck of the woods. They'll probably still charge you £10+ to get in.

Most clubs below National League level charge £10 or less, most have a half decent bar, a good proportion have good cover, and some have a proper old school terrace.

You can pay cash at a turnstile and not have to bother booking online. So much better in so many ways.

Because they are the people who buy the shirts and begin the journey of becoming a loyal supporter..........tv would not be interested in screening football if the stadia was empty.

In 15 years time there will be a generation who have no interest in attending matches simply because they have never been able to afford it.

Agree. Partly because I have a 340 mile round trip for home games, I watch a lot of non-league football (and Pompey...but I repeat myself) and it's a lot of fun. The quality of football is much better than many think, it's friendlier, you're closer to the action and you're home in time for the roundup on the radio. What's not to like?

Any true football fan would be aware of that anyway (bit rich from a Spuds fan tbh)

OK, but my original point still stands. Try a local game one day, especially on an international weekend.
