After bottling it big time yesterday we're now in the play offs for the 10th time.

Have to admit I don't know a lot about chesterfield but I was impressed with them at deepdale. If we can't pick ourselves up for thursday we could be in for a pasting.

Since Simon has no imagination or tactical nouse it'll be the same team :

Johnstone

Clarke Huntington Wright Laird
Humphrey Welsh Johnson Gallagher
Garner Beckford

Team tactics : Try and stay in it for 89 minutes, have a couple of shots in added time and tell the media we gave it a right good go.

Would prefer either of these teams to go on and win promotion as both proved themselves very good teams against us on more than one occasion.

We don't actually have a striker that scores, so doubt we'll give anyone a pasting (excepting Colchester).

We'll probably try and stay in it the first leg (and not get anyone sent off this time ...) and hope by some miracle we can snatch it at your place. We have no expectation at all on us though, so that's a positive. Also that you're not Milton Keynes ....

It's going to be tough ask for us, definitely and i'd say we need some sort of a lead going into the second leg to have a chance. Hopefully this time we're not dumb enough to have a man sent off after 2 minutes.

No imagination or tactical nouse. The mans just got you too 89 fucking points you would go up 90% of the time with that. You have to just hold your hands up at times and say fair play to mk dons theyve piled the pressure on you and had a terrific end to the season just as wednesday did to us the other year. Your a good team and going on the display you put on at bramall lane in the fa cup i can safely say that aint a manager with no imagination you were brilliant that night.

1st leg 1-1
2ng leg 1-0
Pne in the final.

I agree. Some of our fans reactions to Grayson have been pathetic.

Your no different to any other club some people are embarrassing with there over reactions. Ive slagged clough a few times this year cos i believe we should of been challenging where you and mk dons are in the league with our budget ,resources etc. And if we had of done what youve done theres no way id be slagging him youve had a top season in all honesty and just lost out to another good team.

When Chesterfield beat us 1-0 a few weeks back they weren't too convincing, Preston would have battered us.

Zero improvements on last year, 3points more in a weaker league, same negative football, still conceding late goals, awful in the transfer market with the exception of clarke and johnson. Can't motivate the players and the dullest man ever to walk the earth.

The aim for the season from hemmings was automatic promotion, so he's failed.

If we don't go up in the play offs he'll be gone and rightly so.

And yet we beat Colchester 6-0 and Preston couldn't get 1.
Funny old game, innit ....

The league is going to be even weaker next season, I reckon.

The 3 that dip out in the POs should have another good season

I hope you're wrong. Would be harsh to sack him.

Hopefully we'll go up in the playoffs and not have to deal with it.

I can see him going back to leeds this summer.

If we had PNE's forwards, that game would have been about 10-0.

Sacking Grayson would be absolutely ridiculous. We got 89 points. Got to take your hat off to MK dons for pipping us to second.

Yes we bottled it yesterday but is it really a surprise?! We're PNE and never do it the easy way.

We are by far the best team in the play offs. The points total shows that.

Can we win the play offs?!

Heart says yes.
Head says no.

For what it's worth I think Sheffield United will beat us on Pens at Wembley in the most boring Play off final of all time.

If we don't go up this season, if we keep the team together we would destroy this league next year. Keep the faith man

So difficult to predict is this.

If Preston bounce back well from Sunday's disaster they should have more than enough to do Chesterfield over two legs - but where there's PO's and Preston are involved, it usually doesn't end well.

Saying that..

0-2 PNE

Did you go to the game? The only thing was CFC's inability to convert the chances they created on the day.

At that and this stage of the season its all about results.
Yeah I did. I don't remember you having that many great chances. We were fairly in it in the first half too despite the fact we were terrible. You weren't that impressive in the one game I've seen you in this season IMO.

Have PNE lost any loanees for the play offs?

Either way I thought them a strong side at the Proact, both physically and technically.

What impact grabbing third from the jaws of automatic will have we can only guess. Allied to their record of choking, of course. Walsall showed us the way in the JPT.

Preston will be very, very tough. If they go ahead then it's going to be a long night for us. However, we are in them for a reason, and we will be mentally ready for the ties.

My prediction is that whoever scores first in the tie will get to Wembley.
