Cardiff City
The two of three relegated teams, will meet at the Cardiff City Stadium at 3pm on Saturday 13th September. Both sides still have Premiership quality in there squads so Saturday should fry up a tasty encounter. The last meeting between these two came at the Cardiff City Stadium back in February.January signings,Kenwyne Jones and Wilfried Zaha quickly become the stars of the show as Wilfried was brought on as a sub early on an provided an assist for Bellamys equaliser after Norwich's early lead. Then a debut goal for Kenwyne Jones early in the second half gave Cardiff City 3 points which at the time was vital and it plunged Norwich into the relegation scrap along with Cardiff. They also met in the reverse fixture at Carrow Road earlier on in the season in October. This was a dull game and ended 0-0,but only after a controversial goal was disallowed by referee Mike Jones.Cardiff kicked the ball out of play for an injured Norwich player and when Leroy Fer received the ball,he was supposed to kick it back to Marshall in a sportsmanship manner. But he went for goal and he scored.Norwich thought they had won it but referee Mike Jones ruled the goal out and it ended 0-0.
Norwich have started the new Championship season slightly better than the Welsh Capital after getting 10 points from their first 5 games while Cardiff, have got 8 points from their first 5 games. Both teams have lost 1 game each so far this campaign and both losses have come against Wolves both ending in 1-0.Other than that Cardiff have wins from Huddersfield home and Wigan home, while Norwich have beat Watford,Blackburn and fierce rivals Ipswich so far this campaign.Cardiff have lost 1 in their last 5 in all competitions while Norwich have lost 0,winning 4 in their last 5 in all competitions.
Cardiff City tricky winger Craig Noone looks set to play again after suffering a long term injury in pre-season.He adds more penetration to the Cardiff attack and will cause the Canaries alot of problem on the right flank.Cardiff winger,Anthony Pilkington which they bought from Norwich last month is also looking to start against his former club. But,Norwich have a tricky winger of their own in England U21 highly rated Nathan Redmond. He too can also cause problems and Fabio will have to be at the top of his game to keep him out.The only injury for Solskjaer's men is Ben Turner who has been out for a while and seems to be making steady comeback to being fully fit.For Norwich, there is no new injury concerns for Neil Adams and he has got near enough a whole squad to choose from for the long trip to South Wales.
Both teams have a lot of quality and I think that will tell on the pitch.I think it will be a fast flowing game with vast experience and class on show. This game will not disappoint and i can't separate the two sides.I'm going for a 1-1 draw.I hope i'm wrong and Cardiff get all three points but i think Norwich will prove a tough test for the Bluebirds and a draw seems the most likely result.
