Who are the 3 teams most likely to get promotion this year? Normally I keep one eye on the Championship in the second half of the season.

Top three (Boro, Brighton & Burnley) split by a couple of points and Brighton travel to The Riverside on the final day.

Can't fricking wait for tomorrow night. Beat Burnley and Automatic promotion is out of there hands.

Come on SG complete our season.

Never a dull game between us and the Dingles.

Beating a local rival and derailing their promotion/championship/survival challenge is a pretty top feeling. I think the fact that your own team has nothing to play for makes it feel even better!

We're hitting form at just about the right time - Wassall and 'Arry seem to be doing something right.

I think our season can be summed up in four parts; start: slow. pre-christmas: gritty. post-christmas: dire. end: where the fuck has this team been for two years!!

I'm actually hopeful for the play-offs, despite missing every game due to me being on holiday.

To think they thought it was close in the Championship last season!

Top 3 level on points and about 3 goals between them - plus Boro play Brighton on the final day!

Burnley will surely finish the job and they really deserve it, jumped over many hurdles recently where I thought they'd slip up. I can see Boro getting frustrated at Brum next week and Brighton winning, leaving an absolute epic at the Riverside on the last day.

Play offs wise I'd say Hull are the only ones I wouldn't fancy.

Burnley and Brighton to go up via automatics, Boro up via Play-Offs. You heard it here first.

Can't take the play offs again. Think we will still go into the Brighton game just needing a draw. Whether or not we get that draw is another matter because Brighton are probably playing better than us right now.

Burnley surely have to fancy their chances 4 points from their last two games to realistically go up and a pretty good chance of going up with 3 points

I'd fancy Boro to go with them really

Playoff tickets went on sale this afternoon at £25 for STH's and £27 for the half fans. Pretty good, and I'm sure cheaper than last time.

It's just occurred to me: what if Burnley lose and Boro & Brighton win their next games. It leaves you in a situation where Boro and Brighton only need a point each to win promotion, which considering they're playing each other looks ominous.

I don't think it will happen, and I'm sure Burnley will get the win against QPR, but it's worth considering!

Probably end up with a repeat of this

^ I remember that, utterly bizarre. Must have been weird to witness.

We had a similar situation in the 70s where we were stitched up by Spurs and Southampton as the team positioned third on the final day. We won our game but they played out the least eventful 0-0 draw in history.

Not that I'd, ahem, ever advocate anything like that but it would be odd if the boot was suddenly on the other foot after all those years.

Burnley are never losing that QPR game though.

I remember that game. Mcmenamy & Burtenshaw game came out holding hands before kick off! Could be Kranka & Houghton holding hands this time. I hope so, Burnley HOOF it football doesn't deserve to go up :woo:

We had a similar thing back in the 70s as well. Sunderland's game had finished early and us and Coventry knew a draw would keep us both in the top flight at their expense, so we just passed it amongst ourselves for the last 10 mins.

They still hate Coventry and Jimmy Hill to this day over that but for some reason they never seemed to have a problem with us

I like the way Brighton have gone about thrashing teams of late, to close the goal difference gap with Burnley and Middlesborough. It shows class and a determination to see the job through.

From relegation candidates last seaon to automatic promotion hopefuls. Can anyone say Leicester?

Don't think I'll ever see such a range of emotions in such a short space of time. 9 minutes to go and we were relegated, then Barnsley were relegated, few minutes later we're both safe and laughing at the ultimate karma for Peterborough.

I think if that scenario occured, Brighton would still definitely be looking to win the match because it would see them snatch the title from Boro.. or vice versa if theres a swing in goal difference on saturday.

We'll let you bump that up further on Monday.
I doubt it Rammy. We all know what a top side Derby are. As we have to beat Borough what ever a draw wouldn't be to bad a result. Here;s an interesting stat. The teams that have been top the most times this season -
Brighton .... 85 (32%)
Hull ........... 55 (21%)
Boro ......... 53 (21%)
Burnley .... 51 (19%)
Ipswich .... 11 (4%)
MK Dons ... 7 (3%)
Derby ........ 3 (1%)
