Yeah, you'd like to think that's probably us in the PO's now.

Four points in and two games in hand would be a hell of a position to fluff it up from. We do have Coventry, Wycombe and Accrington to play with the former two being our games in hand so we can't be any worse off from losing those games and have the gap closed.
I must have got my numbers wrong here because we're now 8th with two in hand (Wycombe (h) and Coventry (a).

Important wins for Wycombe and Notts whilst Swindon seem to have missed a few opportunities over the last 3 weeks to have a bit of a go but have fallen short more often than not.

So Tuesday night...

If Accrington win, or Exeter fail to win, Accrington are promoted.

If Exeter draw, Exeter need to win all three of their games with a 36 goal swing to stop Luton getting promoted. :2thumb:

Good day for Wycombe, it's going to take a collapse in form now for them not to go up.
Lincoln's in hand games look tough, Stags may get some belief from their win.
Proper slog to the finish for everyone...tense.

Big win for Coventry and not ideal for Lincoln.

A straight shoot out between them 2. Anyone who believes Mansfield have a chance is a fool. But we did basically relegate Chesterfield

It says something when you're a bit flat despite getting a point against the potential champions and the in form team. W ycombes late winner (again ) means it's an outside shot now. We need to beat Chesterfield on Tuesday and hope that Lincoln can raise themselves again. 10, 000 Imps fans needed please.
I have a dreaded feeling we will be playing Lincoln in the playoffs

A point of note here, the totals have dramatically changed in the predicted totals. With Lincoln, Mansfield and Coventry all winning, that has raised the bar of what it should take to get into the top 7. Same goes for the top 3 with Notts County and Wycombe winning, plus Exeter having a game in hand. Everything will tighten up on Tuesday though with Exeter, Wycombe and Lincoln all playing.

Forthcoming fixtures:

1st Accrington(41) - 84 points. Wycombe(A), Yeovil(H), Newport(A), Lincoln(H), Swindon(A)
2nd Luton(43) - 83 points. Carlisle(A), Forest Green(H), Notts County(A)
3rd Wycombe(42) - 77 points. Lincoln(A), Accrington(H), Chesterfield(A), Stevenage(H)
---------------------------------------------------
4th Notts County(43) - 73 points. Yeovil(H), Grimsby(A), Luton(H)
5th Exeter(42) - 73 points. Chesterfield(H), Crawley(H), Stevenage(A), Colchester(H)
6th Coventry(42) - 68 points. Stevenage(H), Lincoln(H), Cheltenham(A), Morecambe(H)
7th Mansfield(43) - 67 points. Port Vale(H), Yeovil(A), Crawley(H)
--------------------------------------------------
8th Lincoln(41) - 67 points. Wycombe(H), Colchester(H), Coventry(A), Accrington(A), Yeovil(H)
9th Swindon(43) - 63 points. Grimsby(H), Colchester(A), Accrington(H)
10th Carlisle(43) - 62 points. Luton(H), Port Vale(A), Newport(H)

Well, Accrington missed out on the chance to go up by only drawing with Exeter. Still, not a bad result, now they have an easier game(on paper) against Yeovil at home on Tuesday to confirm their well deserved promotion. Luton keep the title race alive for now, also put themselves within touching distance of going up. Do Luton fans want it to be confirmed on Tuesday? Or would they rather do it themselves at Carlisle next Saturday?

Wycombe keep the chasing pack at bay with a scrappy win at Yeovil. Sounded like they were a bit lucky today, now have 2 big games against Lincoln on Tuesday and then Accrington at home next Saturday. It's in their hands, but the teams behind them aren't giving up. Good come from behind win for Notts County, I'm sure they'll be nervously watching the games on Tuesday to see how it affects their automatic bid. Got 2 winnable games, but they'll need results to be favourable for them in midweek.

Exeter get a good point at Accrington, they have got to make their game in hand count on Tuesday at home to Chesterfield. Do that and the race for 3rd is well and truly on. Good bounce back win for Coventry at Crawley after their recent blip. 3 of their last 4 at home, need to make that count by beating Stevenage next Saturday.

The reason for that is because Mansfield winning has changed the complexion of the fight for those last 2 spots. Their huge win at local neighbours Chesterfield puts them right back in the mix. 3 very winnable games now for them, all against teams with little to play for. They need to beat the Vale next Saturday, plus pray things are kind for them

Talking of the Vale, strange to see Lincoln slip up there. Drops them out of the play offs, for now at least. Tough game for them at home to Wycombe on Tuesday, a win there puts them right in the driving seat. Automatics are probably beyond them, but a good return from their next 2 probably sees secure a top 7 spot.

An afterthought for the dropping Swindon, whose dwindling play off hopes probably took a fatal blow today. Maybe a win next Saturday at home to Grimsby keeps it alive, but they aren't going up. Neither it seems are Carlisle, not all that surprising, they've lacked the consistency and quality to make the top 7, as their supporters have said for a while.

So, 2 big midweek games, with Lincoln v Wycombe and Exeter v Chesterfield. Huge ramifications for all 3 with wins.

We can only hope for some favourable results in the week and win our remaining games in terms of automatics. I think if we won our last three then we’d be close, but it’s a big ask now.

We’ve got to make sure of a home second leg in the play-offs either way. With the ridiculous disparity in our home/away form that’s probably more important for us than anyone else.

nah. We’re not great at home, and we have a worse run in than Exeter. We’ve got a 4 point cushion and Exeter’s GD is thankfully toss, so really 5, but anyone can choke at this level.

Yep, can change in an instant. You lose to Lincoln on Tuesday and Exeter beat Chesterfield, which is all very possible, then it's a 1 point gap with 3 left to play. You've then got the probably promoted Accrington whilst Exeter have got the out of form Crawley. Table could look very different this time next week.

But we were beaten by both Chesterfield and Crawley away from home, so these are not certainties. I'd rather be playing someone like Cambridge at home than Chesterfield on Tuesday at the moment, they will be desperate to get something from the game.

We must win both games this week as said above and hope Wycombe drop points. Chesterfield will come out to win, as they have to surely.

If Wycombe get a decent haul against Lincoln and Accrington then they will deserve to go up automatically. I hate the lottery of the play offs so really want to pip Wycombe if possible but it’s going to be really tough.

Surely one win needed from last three to guarantee a play off spot with Yeovil at home looking the best opportunity.

Anything above and beyond that is a bonus,i don’t fancy us over two legs or on TV but would be good just to get in the lottery of the playoffs this season

Got to have some deal of respect for Wycombe's ability to go away from home and timewaste their way to a 0-0 draw basically on demand.

Akinfenwa went off injured, though, which could be a big blow to them. I can still see Exeter pipping them, but don't see where the latter drop enough points with a very favourable run in to allow us back into the equation.

To go away to Meadow Lane and Sincil Bank and not concede is impressive and I respect it.

Tbh, Wycombe had a great chance to snatch a winner against us albeit a draw was the only fair result that day. Anti Football vs Anti Football

I can only imagine that a game between them and Lincoln was similarly.. robust. :D

A Notts vs. Lincoln play-off semi final looks fairly likely now, that'll be one for the viewing public on Sky to salivate over.

Even I don’t want to watch that! Yuk!

With our recent performances on TV, we are wasted being in the play offs.

What do Wycombe gain from that at this stage of the season in their position?

Shit housing their way to promotion. I want them to go up so we don’t have to suffer their brand of shite anymore.

With Exeter a smidgen behind?

That was their toughest game left, and a point combined with their superior goal difference means that they only need seven to do it now (assuming Exeter win all three) rather than nine had they lost. It's a great point for them, I just suspect it was gained somewhat nefariously. :D
