We’ve lost 6-1 and 5-1 this season, we were 5-0 down to Harrogate at half time.

Those losses were also with our first team playing. Draws against Hartlepool and Stevenage, two teams with nothing to play for at all aren’t slightly comparable to how motivated Rovers are gonna be.
Missed those results. Still no loss by more than 5 though.

Those recent draws were still decent. Newport had nothing to play for but still won at Vale yesterday and a 2-1 loss at Bradford looks respectable after they won 4-1 at Sutton on Saturday.

With your senior pros performing so badly this season, who's to say your youngster won't fair better? Particularly as there will be no pressure on them, with many like yourself predicting a heavy defeat.

Scores of 6 or 7-0 rarely happen.

Fulham scored 7 yesterday but they were already promoted and went into the game relaxed and confident. I think it will be harder for us as we might NEED to score 6 or 7. That makes it much tougher.

I still think our best chance is Barrow, but with the 3rd worse home record in L2 I'm not holding out too much hope.

I know it’s a cliche but we’ve genuinely got a load in the home ends this Saturday haha

Confusion runs wild in the Barrow ticket office as they suddenly have a huge increase in fans from the Northamptonshire area.

Fuck me. Is nobody confident their team will win on Saturday - apart from DL, of course.

I am.

Although now I’m paranoid that I’m over confident.

It’s different for you lot. No way on earth you won’t win. You’re dependent on Cobblers following the trend of bottling it.

Sounds like they're pretty switched on to who is coming from Northampton, a few refunds have been issued.

For once I'm joining our resident optimist and say I'm pretty confident. The main thing we've added as a squad this year is resilience and ability to win ugly. Having got themselves into the position I can't see the players throwing the title away now, whatever it takes.

Incidentally we're also in the final of the Devon Bowl on Friday night. No way we're bottling a league and cup double.

IF Zanzala gets you the goal that wins the title Exeter will have a moral obligation to buy him

If he does then I will pay his wages myself. He can't be on much right?

FGRs collapse from 10 pts clear at top of table to best of the rest has been completely put in shade by Man City's collapse verses Real Madrid.

Does anyone actually expect us to win tomorrow? Considering I have been pessimistic of our top 3 chances for a while I feel like we are going to finish the job tomorrow.

Its odd though as I imagine whoever is in the playoffs would want to play us.

I'm probably going to end up with oeuf dans moi visage, but out of all the teams in the play offs I think i'd pick Sutton or Northampton to play. I just haven't been impressed with either side at all this season, both sides clearly play to their strengths and the table 100% hasn't lied and I only have 2 games to judge that on but to your point, yes I would want to play you (and not just because I can get a bus to and from Sixfields! :) )

Yeah I reckon you’ll do it quite comfortably say 2-0. The one question mark I have with Northampton is if you fall behind. Your team has a certain way of playing that I don’t think is ideal for turning games round if the opposition score first. Might be wrong but that’s just my perception.

Northampton seem to have a plan A which is clearly very effective but they're certainly not the best side up there. The same applies to Sutton....great at what they do but if you stop that then they haven't got a lot else.

I'll be made to look a fool no doubt but I'd rather play Northampton than Bristol Rovers in a playoff. Until recent games they haven't exactly been free scorers, so if you keep the score down at their place to a 0-0 , I'd be confident of turning them over at home (if we were at our best).

Having said all that I think they'll get the last automatic spot anyway. Be a pointless promotion as they'll be back again in the next couple of years.

Tbh, that applies to all of us. Sure, we attempt fanny possession football which, supposedly, is the ‘right’ way to play the game - which is total bollocks. Plenty of teams have found a way to nullify it and when it’s not working it’s pretty tedious.

If we all played the same way it’d be boring.
