I thought I'd start this for all discussion on who will escape the Conference in 2015.

Barnet looked very comfortable but after losing to Grimsby are only 5 points clear of Bristol Rovers. Grimsby would only be 6 points adrift if they win their games in hand and Macclesfield would only be 5. Eastleigh could be right in the mix if they win their games in hand. Otherwise, there are about 10 other teams that could make the playoffs.

All "IF" they win a game in hand there and a game in hand here would rather have the points on the board

Still think it will be between Bristol and Barnet, don't think Macc have enough about them to catch and us and Eastleigh are not consistant enough.

Though on yesterdays performance i'd be surprised of Bristol don't catch and overtake them soon

Barnet and Bristol Rovers will win promotion.

There, we can all go home now.

I'm wondering that myself. Apparently we're only two points off fifth place, and level with your set of thugs that should be locked up, can you believe it? :dk:

You lot played exceptionally well, most teams in this league can't reach that level of performance.
Also, if this is our little wobble and we remain on top after it, I'd be happy with that.
I still think Bristol Rovers will draw too many matches for their own good and they still have to visit you.

We've done our best to hang in after a difficult month or so. Probably no coincidence that since Scott Rendell's injury we haven't won a game in the league. Things are beginning to get back on track though. Mark Ricketts has been on the bench the last couple of games and Rendell got 15 minutes yesterday. Any side from about 14th who can find some consistency and put some wins together could end up in the play-offs.

First post - I was a long time follower of the Non-League forum on TFF and thought I'd join alongside everyone else on this one!

Interesting to see Barnet stumble at the moment because all it is doing is handing initiative to the play-off occupants that they can be caught. Rovers are obviously their main threat at the moment and despite only managing a tame draw at Woking yesterday I fancy us to ramp the pressure up when we return to action in a fortnight's time. Both Grimsby and Macclesfield will still feel they can get right in amongst it if they win their games in hand though, so it's all to play for.

I still think Barnet for the title, as has been said above we draw too many games and we've got some tough away fixtures in Feb and March. That will kill us if you ask me.

Play-offs would be anyone's guess, lots of sides at the moment who can beat anybody 'on their day', but a lot of inconsistency. Hard to call.

Barnet are the best team I have seen so far this season, they have strength pretty much throughout the team and in Akinde they have a forward who would be more than a handful several levels above the Conference. However, I haven't seen Grimsby yet and on the evidence of yesterday they will surely make it to the play-offs again this season. Gashead is right though, there are plenty of teams who can beat just about anyone on their day, pretty much the top half of the table fall into that category. It might just come down to who goes into the play-offs with the best form and capable of making and taking their own bit of luck.

The one thing i hate about this league is the mix up with games in hand you never really know where your up to. One reason why the Trophy should be a midweek and straight to penalties. With the weather getting colder we don't need postponements.

On us it was nice to come out of Christmas in a reasonably healthy position, if and its a big if we can keep injury free then there is no reason why we won't keep this up.

Next up Lincoln who are on form and trying to muscle there way into the hunt so a home win is vital. These are the kind of games the players should be getting pumped up for, most excited i've been about a season for a long time its going to be a interesting ride till May.

In Conference North, it would be great to see Morrell get Tamworth promoted. Eleven wins in a row now. Fantastic form from them. Hopefully they can keep going and at least get a play-off spot.

I assume all you playoff chasers are now extremely worried about Altrincham's charge up the league? :D

You've played 31 games haven't you? So I'd say you've left it too late, unless your recent form continues until the end of the season.

You've already lost 13 games as well.

Macc V Alty in the play offs would be amazing especially considering i couldn't make the last two matches or even the next one!

In all honesty I know it won't happen. But it's nice to be in with a theoretical chance two thirds of the way through the season.

FA Trophy is our big chance.

Will probably get the usual suspects calling me an idiot with this but here goes...

Yesterday finally proved me right in that we have had an incredibly easy start to the season which we took advantage of. We have about 2/3 games left this season which based on our seasons record so far I'd class as expected 3 pointers. We have over 10 matches left which again, based on this season so far and our recent run of form, will be a struggle to win.

Rovers aren't losing enough games to not catch us with our run in, while we have performed so poorly in our matches against most of the playoff group at the moment that I won't make us likely to progress there, either.

It's all well and good beating Welling, Dartford, Telford 3/4/5-0 but when you go to Lincoln and Grimsby and put in those performances you can't expect to be champions.

I would agree with you but I'm not sure anyone is consistent enough to catch Barnet. Or at least no one has been consistent enough so far.

For every big Grimsby win, there is a home loss against Altrincham or Southport. Was a much bigger problem earlier in the season, but they're still a little bit inconsistent at times. Macc aren't so bad with this, but when they have some injuries or suspensions they struggle (as seen when they lost 4-0 at our place). That might affect them later in the season. We've only lost 1 in 23 or something silly, but we draw a hell of a lot and we've got some really tough away games next month and in March.

One of us/Grimsby/Macc would need to go on a major winning run, and Barnet would need to slip up a fair bit for anyone other than them to win the title I think.

Once one of the Halifax or Forest Green thugs kick Akinde into the stand and injure him, the league is Bristol's.

Have maintained for a while I'm not sure this is a two horse race. Don't think we're going to win the league at least.

More to fear from Woking, Lincoln, Alfreton, Altrincham, Bristol, Grimsby, Kidderminster, Torquay, Welling or his own team Barnet who've all commited over 300 fouls apiece this season. Sorry shoot you down with hard, cold facts. :box:

It's a shame that fights or general thuggish behaviour isn't counted in the 'foul count', or Halifax would be top ;)

I don't think Grimsby have ever really gone away and I hope your wrong about the title but yesterday was a blow letting barnet of the hook.
