Because football fans are notoriously anti-social, unruly ,liable to shout and sing projecting bodily fluids, and get too close when they have had a few bevvies.
If we had behaved in a more responsible way pre-COVID, the general public would have a bit more sympathy.
I'd really not bother with football if I was you. Really doesn't sound like it's for you. Snooker maybe

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Nonsense. If that’s how you feel stop reading The Sun.
If only it was nonsense. You will have seen the irresponsible behaviour recently celebrating and protesting outside ( and inside ) stadia. This is what the public see, and what the “experts” have to take into consideration.

We (Lynn) have announced a capacity of 1600 for each of our final two games - the one benefit of our rain off last weekend

Ummmmmm!!!
I see that Eastleigh's only home game with fans is against Boreham Wood. How much revenue are they going to lose with no away fans allowed?
I guess 4000 Eastleigh fans will attend so not really an issue.

Wonder if fans being back might add a bit of intrigue to some of the remaining games promotion wise. Behind closed doors you’d think the teams in the top ten or so still fighting for something away at the rest would be a foregone conclusion, but playing in front of a crowd for the first time in a year might give the others a sudden burst of motivation.

Not an issue for us as our games are against Solihull & Aldershot who both look out of the race but another question for the clubs near the bottom is will they attract as many fans when the past couple of months have been little more than pre-season games? I know many Lynn fans wrote the season off when we furloughed the bulk of the old squad so not sure how 'supportive' they will be of the ramshackle squad we are closing out the season with.

Exactly my thoughts with Wealdstone too - the hardcore ST holders (myself included) will be at the Solihull game on the 22nd but those who maybe bought a season ticket for the first time this season, they're far less inclined to go to the game.

It's that apathy which potentially seeps into next season with crowds down compared to 2019-20.

We’re still liaising with the London Borough of Sutton about plans for the Hartlepool game on the 22nd. Personally I don’t think plans will be much different from the Solihull and Chesterfield games in December where capacity was 1100.

Another factor in why details haven’t been released yet is the possibility of the game being moved for TV.

We've been set a capacity of 1700 for our final game against Weymouth, we sold 1500 season tickets so there's gonna be 200 up for grabs to the hoi polloi at £25 a shot.

At full capacity the play offs would be rocking. Imagine a final between any of us, you, Stockport, Hartlepool, Grimsby. Would be a mega crowd

Match tickets now on sale for our final home match vs Wrexham, I wouldn’t expect more than 700 for this dead rubber for us, no away fans allowed.

Was 47,000 when we played Bristol Rovers. You almost want to avoid FAT finals throughout your stay if you want to really maximise that number, I reckon.

Absolute commitment from us to a massive eventual following by losing two Trophy semi-finals in a row and losing a play-off final behind closed doors.

Haha losing the semis is the worst, we did that too I think. I'm guessing it's still a double leg semi, right?

It is normally (I still have a ticket for our sold out semi-final away leg at Harrogate last season somewhere), but our two defeats were:

Harrogate in August this year when they were a league side four or five games into the season and we’d played one pre-season friendly. And then somehow on penalties this year to a Hornchurch team who hadn’t played themselves for three months.

Although as the first final ended up being behind closed doors and the second one has an allocation of 3,000 tickets for each club, I’m pretty happy we lost them in the end tbh.

They won’t lose any as B’Wood ’s away following in a normal season would be tiny.

Still not signed off yet by Hillingdon Council but our attendance will be limited to season ticket holders only, so 500, verses Solihull. It’s actually going to cost us more to have fans in than not with the additional stewarding required by the local authority. We also have 11 Zones inside the ground and absolutely no movement between them. We were fined 3k by the council after our previous game in as there was insufficient social distancing.

With my other hat on, I am off to Wembley tomorrow for the F A cup final. A lateral flow test y/day, you are supposed to do a PCR on the day of the game and then one a couple of days after. A flaming palavar.

Is this the council imposing rules that go above and beyond government guidance? This seems to be a real problem across the country not just for football clubs but restaurants, wedding venues etc. Should be none of their business to add in their own rules.

It appears to be. They have more or less said that if we don’t comply with their strict regulations, then they could impose a capacity cap next season. The bizarre thing is that we have a decent relationship with them.

No trains running through Crewe or Birmingham to London on that day, so that'll put off a number who were thinking of chancing it.

Seems we have sold out the 4,400 tickets we’re allowed for Weymouth on Saturday and are now operating a waiting list.

Managed to sneak a pair for me and me dad this morning, delighted with that even though I think we’ve ended up right in the top corner of the Kop haha. Be churlish to complain.

Tickets for our game against Hartlepool were finally made available to season ticket holders last night, thanks to the wonderful people at BT Sport only deciding yesterday to move our game. Also thanks to the fan friendly folks at BT we’re going to have to reduce capacity further. (It was initially set at 1150, but with camera equipment and staff needed there will be less tickets available due to Covid protocols).

Confirmed that capacity for our game vs. Solihull will be capped at 550. Initially season ticket holders only but if they inform the club that they're unable to attend then those tickets will be sold on to the general public.

Boreham Wood have had theirs capped at 50 spectators.
Their season ticket holders have snapped theirs up leaving 47 for general sale.
Approximately 45 left as of this afternoon.

And your in the same league as them, again.
