Is it worth getting one of these, I like the looks of the games on it, but I'm not sure if I can justify spending £60-80 on the thing if it's gonna be a load of shite. So I'm hoping that one of you lot have one and can guide me on it.

It's my favourite handheld of all time. Some really good games on it such as Tearaway, Dragon's Crown, Uncharted, Freedom Wars, Persona 4 Golden, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and a whole lot more. Plus you can play PS1 games on it. Imagine that, Jase, playing Metal Gear Solid whilst doing a poo. Amazing.

Since I've since lost my job and my laptop has died, it's been put way on the backburner for now unfortunately. It's definitely on the 'to buy eventually' list however.

Dedicated mobile gaming devices like this are in their death throes thanks to mobile phone gaming, so I wouldn't bother myself unless you can pick one up on a deal you can't refuse (for example £50 with games). Even Nintendo, who have lead mobile gaming from day one with their various Gameboy incarnations, are looking increasingly unlikely to be in the mobile hardware sector for much longer, and have already started making mobile phone games I believe.

As for the Vita, Sony still officially support it, but it's in a weird sort of limbo at the moment. It's still too early to bury it without losing face so it's just sitting around without any decent new games. They never got the price point right for it, and was always too expensive. I expect it will be dropped within the next 12 months.
