Uruguay’s delivery in the box, both from crosses and set pieces, has been shocking. Picking out the first man every single time

Can't understand how these top players can't beat the first man so often.

I play right midfield for a Sunday league team and tbh I'm pretty shit but even I can get a bit of power and height on crosses to at least beat the first man every now and then. So why the fuck can't top pros do it at least 7 times out of 10?

Disappointing performance from Uruguay. Doesn’t help when Suarez hasn’t got a strike partner though, it was like they were playing with 10 men. France weren’t great, but they didn’t need to be.

Stuani reminded me of a few of our strikers we've had in recent years, big and awkward with a shit touch that kills nearly every attack.

Their crosses have a lot more power on them, but yeah, Uruguay were disappointing. Awful game.

I know haha, amazes me. You should have seen us last season. Marcus Kelly would put a cross in that wouldn’t beat the first man, he’d get so much stick instantly. He can say he’s on par with some of those at the World Cup though now..

Love how the ITV pundits are criticising France for not being great. Why do they need to be? They won comfortably and now should be reasonably fresh for their semi-final. If you can win in first gear, then do it. We'll saw how good they were against Argentina when they moved through the gears. If Brazil beat Belgium, we'll see how good France truly are.

Assured display by the French today against a potentially very tricky opponent. They seem to be hitting top form at the right time here.

The winner of the semi between France and Belgium will win it all. Not much of a prediction I know, but they look the standout teams left by some distance.

This went much more smoothly than I expected. I knew Uruguay were an ageing squad with not much talent coming through the ranks but didn't expect a gift from a goalkeeper and a goal scored from a set-piece. If anything I thought we'd be the one to concede from a dead-ball situation.

In the semis now. Bring on Belgium. Looks a fabulous on paper.
