Young or not, the way he has behaved with the club that gave him the platform/support on which to develop is nothing short of disgusting not to mention massively unprofessional. I get the prima donna thing from reading about how he wants to be competing for silverware, the sort of thing you hear off of the more established players who've performed at high levels for more than a season n a bit.

I'd get it if it were about moving back to London, who doesn't wanna be close to family and friends afterall but that doesn't seem to be the case, unless he was gambling for one of the Chelsea or Arsenal to be in for him.

Criticising him for targeting silverware despite being only 20 is such a backwards way of thinking. People were - and still are - getting on his back for being a 'money-grabber', although it patently is not the case. In what world do we actively lambast a young player for having ambition? He had the ambition and conviction of belief in his talent to leave QPR for Liverpool, where were those saying 'you'll just be sat on the bench' back then? All of a sudden he pursues a transfer from a club not at the top echelon to a club who are at that top echelon (and who want him) and he's 'spoilt' or he's a 'prima donna'.

He and his party have conducted themselves terribly throughout all of this, but it's just indicative of modern football, not the anomaly. If a player is made aware of interest from a club deemed better than the one they're currently at, they have every right to pursue a transfer. We know little of the permutations surrounding him reportedly asking not to go on tour, and if the claims about him being the victim of racist abuse via his phone number having been leaked, then it's perfectly understandable. Football fans can take it ridiculously far sometimes, and for a 20-year-old kid that will be massively overwhelming.

I'd be surprised. I don't get a sense of devastation of him leaving, like there was when Gerrard was potentially going to move. If they get upwards of 40million they've got a good deal, for a good player but not one that the team revolves around and certainly not a fan favourite even before all this saga. Then again there are some bellends that support Liverpool.
