Surely this can't be any worse than last year's three aberrations vs Rochdale can it?

Garratt, Turton, Ajayi, Nugent, Guthrie, Cooper, Jones, Fox, Bakayogo, Inman, Haber to be the team I reckon although I'd drop Guthrie, put Bakayogo at LB, put Inman out wide and play Seager if it was my team. I'd also put in Baillie for Davis' love-child Ollie Turton but we know that's never happening.

Reckon this will be a shit game and we'll scrape a scrappy 1-0 win after setting up defensively for most of the game and taking a rare chance on goal.

If the plucky draws against top 6 sides are as good as have been made out then should be looking to beat a side as wildly inconsistent as Rochdale. I think score draw though, same story of not creating anywhere near enough chances whilst Rochdale will get the customary 5 free shots at Ben Garratt.

Crewe need to win these games to have any hope of survival. Fancy them to dispatch Rochdale in this to be fair.

I agree with the first bit VF16, this feels like our last chance to make a survival push. Win here and we have a bit of hope going into next weeks game against Walsall. Draw and we heap all the pressure on the next game. Lose and we can well and truly forget it.

Not many teams worry me, but the way Rochdale mauled us last season has me worried. The way we play, Henderson, Vincenti and Andrew could all have a field day. Fingers crossed we can scrap out a result here, not holding my breath though. We can't hold onto a lead for longer than 5 minutes and don't look like winning games.

Depends which Rochdale side turn up.

The one that played Walsall or Burton will win. The one that played Barnsley will lose.

Team ought to be unchanged from last week, but predicting Sir Keith's selections is like herding cats.

From reading this forum, Crewe's right back (Turton) is particularly crap. Might be a case for Mendez-Laing to start in order to take advantage... :)

You are far too kind my friend. I would use a whole multitude of expletives to explain his performances this season.

Really good well deserved win, finally. Poor quality game thanks to the pitch but Rochdale never really posed a problem and had Davis had the ambition we could have gone for another goal or two. And thank goodness we didn't managed to get rid of Bradden in January, hope he can end his last few months here like he started his Crewe career.

Our away record must be really shite.

I can't be bothered with them when Hill picks Lancashire over Eastham every week. There's no way he can think he's worthy of a starting place.

We aren't safe yet.

We are a joke. Win against decent teams and lose to the fodder (sorry Crewe!) We didn't even turn up again. Lancashire is an awful footballer. If I was Eastham I would have taken up the offer by Orient in Jan for the move (if the rumour is true). He must be scratching his head wondering how week in week out he's in the side ahead of him. Vincenti is nowhere near the standard we usually expect from him. He caused their second goal. Henderson missed an absolute sitter which would have brought us back into it. We got what we deserved today... Nothing! Keith Hill needs to stop being stubborn and getting the fans backs up with silly comments in interviews etc and just simply pick his best team instead of his favourites and stop the silly comments. That will never happen though.

How on earth are we still in a survival hunt?

To be fair, we weren't great today, just a solid workmanlike performance. Created 2 great chances, scored twice. Scored from a corner, when was the last time that happened? Then Brad gets an opening and powers in and scores a great goal. But Rochdale's defending in the 1st half was awful, playing a high line, leaving loads of gaps. Baffling tactics by Hill. 2nd half was a non event, Dale had a handful of great chances which they spurned. Inman did ok in spells, took his goal really well. Playing for a contract at a new club, but still, could be a game changer for us. Seager worked his bollocks off, great effort from him, can see his quality. Haber also worked hard, doesn't have a lot of skill, but grafts a fair bit. Felt the 2 CMs weren't great. Defence started off badly, got better, especially Ajayi. Garratt had a quiet afternoon.

Dale were a shadow of the side we played last season. Bereft of any attacking quality, defensively poor.

Somehow, we are still in with a shout of staying up. Amazing. Our pitch should work to our advantage from here on out, its so bad that its a great leveller. Got a great chance to beat Walsall next week, do that and we are right back in this.

Professional performance today, punished Rochdale for two acts of sloppy defending and therefore deserved the 3 points. Rochdale's defence cost them the game and lacked discipline, cohesion and were given the runaround by Haber, Seager and Inman at times. Our defence appeared resolute for large parts of the game too.

Thought Rochdale were a threat going forward but their final ball and finishing badly let them down today, we thoroughly deserved the three points in testing conditions and we need to build on this with another home win against Walsall next week.

Remember the play-offs,'93?
What a hammering you took, and no mistake!
Could history repeat?

Probably, we are wank every single time I go to Gresty Road..and my tickets arrived a few days back. So you can almost guarantee we will be hippo shit on the day. I can only remember the 0-3 a few years back. After the last few home games against Crewe where we have failed to put you away and missed chances, it would be nice to finally hand one out. We won't though, we just won't.
