Bollocks. Winning the league doesn't bring him immunity for having a woeful campaign this term. The Prem generates a lot of money and relegation is a far bigger risk than making tough decision like this one. I get it that Ranieri is a nice guy and all but they've been fucking awful. It's a results industry in case you hadn't noticed.

It's a woeful squad. The season before he joined they were in a relegation fight for the whole season and I'd argue that they haven't improved the squad since then. Slimani and Musa were signed for big money from shit leagues and don't look up for it.

They're not in the relegation zone and there are, imo, 7 sides still in the relegation fight. Winning the league with such an average group of players (he had Danny Simpson at RB ffs) should see him have a statue outside the stadium and some leeway to turn it around. Who's to say last nights very good result against Sevilla wouldn't have been a catalyst for the rest of the season.

Base the decision on this seasons league performance, 1 point above the drop zone, 1 win in 10 games, 5 defeats in a row and its an understandable decision as they're at major risk of going down. Sentiment of last season vs £100m potentially lost by going down, if anything if it were another manager he'd probably have been gone already, its not hard to see why they've sacked him.
