Season 3 officially airs on Showtime this Sunday, but episode 1 has been on demand on their website for a few days...and it's online for download too. Anybody planning on watching? Very good series. Solid reocmmendation from RavenBish

not watched the last 2 of season 2 yet, it all got a bit heavy for me, especially the
Bunchy/potential Paedophile thing

It did, but that's kind of what I like about it. The dark, serious side to Ray is what makes the programme strong IMO.

You going to watch it?

I tend to try and keep up with things on the American side of things. Happens a few weeks earlier over there with most series.

Really steady start to the New Season. The rich chaps daughter has been in a lot of things before, she looks hugely familiar - she was an officer in the Dark Knight I think. Jon Voight is such a good actor, pulls Mickey off perfectly.

Yep that's her. Didn't realise she was Mrs Tom Cruise.

Well, she's not anymore.

Is it still morbid as fuck then?

gritty is about portraying life with the mundaneness it usually has, Ray Donovan is far from that, it's overly-morose and the characters' self-pitying isn't interesting. Mickey's basically the only character that you don't want to just fucking slap in the mouth, which is ironic because he's clearly meant to be the one with the least redeeming features.

It's probably slightly more in your face than gritty, but I don't want to slit my writsts when I watch it and I don't want to slap Ray in the face either. It's clear that the producers want Ray and Mickey to carry the show and that's what they do, everything else is kind of an irrelevance providing the storylines around those two are interesting enough - and for me, they are. I almost prefer programmes that are darker and a little bit heavy to watch - the sense of realism suits me.

I'm more than happy watching it, it's a good show that's well produced with a solid enough cast and storyline.

Episode 3 was fairly morbid and downbeat, but thankfully it ended well and episode 4 was very good again. Solid series in the making again.

This series is moving along nicely, With quite a bit going on in the background. Ray's son is a chip off the old block as well.

Good episode again this week...I can't remember a programme when virtually every character was so complicated. Rarely is any episode predictable. It's one of the best things on TV currently.

That shot to the head was brutal.

This is the best thing on tv right now by some distance.

Another good episode this week. I'd completely forgotten about the dodgy MP that Ray had seen off in Season 1. That's definetely going to come back and haunt him.

Please don't tell me they are heading down the route of Terry trying it on with Abbey? Not sure I'd be comfortable with that, there's no way back afterwards. Otherwise another excellent episode. The Ex-FBI man Cochran was a good addition originally, glad to see him back. Wonder if things could really fall apart for Ray in these last few episodes.

They really are.

Best episode of the series this week.

Didn't realise this had already been renewed 6 weeks ago for Season 4.

Nope, not a big fan of that at all.

Great series finale, another top season. Can't wait for next years.

Finally caught up with it all, it was indeed another marvelous season of tv.

I like how bunchy has settled finally with the Mexican lass.

I do despise Mickey as a character though. Which I guess is the point!
