At least 4 weeks too late. I cannot stand Tim Sherwood, but with him looking the only option, he can't do any worse.

Because of a knee surgery, apparently.

While I really hope that's the last we see of Redknapp in management, it's an unfortunate reality that he'll slot straight into a cushy position as a pundit at BBC, Sky or elsewhere.

Still hate him with a passion. What a selfish prick as well. Resigns with some bullshit excuse after not getting his way in the window and not wanting to be remembered for relegation as his last job or being sacked.

He is a disgrace and I am glad that the media love in for him has decidedly thawed since his being touted for the England job.

Was lucky they got promoted last season, otherwise he would have been sacked months ago.

As I just said in the relegation thread, let's hope he quits football completely. One of the most overrated managers of all time.

How apropos for it to be the day after a transfer deadline day.

Tim Sherwood = One of your mates who isn't particularly tough, but always acts hard as nails when people are watching.

It was coming. Whether he were to resign or just get sacked. His away tactics we're an abomination to football and maybe now QPR will be more competitive away from home.

:fl: couldn't have put it better.

Comes across as a complete know it all on TV. Has done nothing to even been the frame for a top job, let alone be the favourite.

To be fair, given where he lives down in Poole, the place and money he's got, I do wonder why the he's kept going and was seemingly happy to get up and down from West London every day, presumably staying in hotels regularly as well. I'd have retired years ago to spend my days on Sandbanks!

Looking forward to signing Peter Crouch and Niko Kranjcar after he becomes your Director of Football?

Hmm, as long as Howe stays around we'll be safe from Arry, but I shudder to think about Arry parachuting in should Howe get tempted by a bigger job in the coming years. We'll be safe for now!

A football version of that chat show with Jack Whitehall and his dad, coming to Sky Sports in the spring...

I wish him a long and happy retirement.

Anything really to stop him becoming a pundit clogging up our screens. How classless to do it the day after a transfer window as well. Means the new guy is stuck with all the overpaid crap Harry brought in.

He's resigned out of embarrassment at trying, and failing, to send Mauro Zarate back to West Ham.

I read recently his health isn't great so I fully expect QPR to be his last job in football, or at least directly. Unfortunately, I suspect we'll see some punditry from him.

Never been a big fan of him, but he did get some unfair stick off some. The commonly held belief he financially fucked clubs up has always made me laugh, as if he held a gun to the head of the chairmen and forced them to make money available.

Doesn't have to spend it though does he, moans about players wages then brings them in on huge wages. And then there's all the lies, he doesn't endear himself.
