Wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought I'd create a thread for anyone who supports a reformed club that would like to update us on their progress.

Only bring it up as I've just seen that Scarborough have planning permission to build a stadium in the town and return home which is great news. Might give them the kick they need in the league next season as well.

Chester F.C. are in great shape. We've got a great chairman, legendary goalkeeper Grenville Millington and a fantastic management team headed by Steve Burr. For the first time since we reformed we've got the nucleus of next season's squad all ready at the club. I think we might even finish above Halifax next season as wealthy clubs have filched their best players.

We're moving on up, finally. Just promoted to the Conference South. It's amazing what a stadium in your own town will do for you.

How far can you go with your stadium, the Gallagher isn't it? Will you fill it most games next season? Read somewhere that capacity is only 2,226.

Darlo into the evo-prem. 2 promotions in 3 seasons (1st, 2nd, 2nd). Got a really good squad together and hopefully with a couple of additions we can be challenging at the top end of this division. Conference North football in the next 2-3 years would be a great achievement.

Biggest news for us is the move back into town from Bishop Auckland. Fans raised £245,000 to develop a ground share with a local rugby team, bringing their facilities up to Category C gorund grading with a starting capacity of 2,500. Hopefully all will be completed for us to move in early next season (around October time are the rumors). Really enjoying the climb back to where we were after the dark days of 3 administrations in 10 years. Think we could be challenging for the conference in the next 5 years hopefully, developing the ground as we go.

Question for the Maidstone fans (firstly well done on your promotion and very nice new ground) what did you think of the decision to put in a 3G pitch? was this the decision of the fans or of the board?

Expansion work is currently under way! The main stand is being extended, and I believe an extra turnstile block and exit are going to be built, bringing capacity up to 3,000. There are also plans for extending the terraces behind the goals should it become necessary/funds become available.

Regarding the pitch, I think most fans were against at first but have quickly been swayed. It's not majorly different to grass and the injury argument is absurd and unfounded. It allows the stadium to be used every day and for games to go ahead when they wouldn't on a grass surface, and I'm sure many of you know there's not much grass on some pitches come winter anyway. The only thing really stopping us is leagues not allowing it yet, but we'll see - I'm okay with stalled progress should the club stay financially solvent.

Interesting to hear, good luck for this season, hope you guys do well. It really is a great little ground and asset for your club. 3G is a debate that always divides opinion (personally i would always choose grass, though i do accept there are many merits to 3G pitches being laid) it isn't an option for us as 3G pitches used for Football and Rugby are laid on different base surfaces. I hope Darlo do something similar to Maidstone, in the fact that, as soon as the current developments are completed we need to get plans in place for how the ground can be expanded through time.

For anyone who may be interested this is the artists impression of what our new ground will look like:
