Every single ref vale have had this season has been shit. I dont think there's a decent ref in this league.

Guy today was a bit meh. Have them a lot of free kicks first half, us second although how he didn’t give us a free kick in the corner second half on Jones… oddly they cleared it Cass clearly fouled their bloke and he gave us the free kick probably realising what a mess he’d made of the “foul” on Jones.

Could of had a penalty second half but on the flip side Covolan could of given one away with his attempts and dribbling again!

Hartlepool v Walsall - DECLAN BOURNE

Did a half decent job, couple of harsh yellows but handled the game well enough.

Thought Madley was OK today, not exceptional but didn't do anything especially wrong either. A lot seemed to go our way in the first half. I think that might have been more that the Orient players felt the penalty was harsh and started arguing with him and claiming for stuff a lot, which just made him less likely to give them the 50/50s, think a couple of the bookings they picked up were for dissent too. Second half though he must have had a nice cuppa and decided to be a bit more even-handed in which way he awarded the little decisions.
Honestly thought he was poor.

I was at the game and was adamant the penalty was very harsh, but having rewatched it you can't argue, nailed on handball, so fair enough there.

That said, it felt like an awful lot went Carlisle's way, how we ended up with 5 yellow cards and you with 0 is beyond me in what was an even encounter.

Didn't ruin the game at all but I thought he was poor overall.

This weekend's offerings. Mr Kettle doesn't have a great reputation, but can't remember him having any truly awful performances during a Rovers game. Famous last words and all that.

Carl Brook last night - Gave us a 50/50 penalty, then as Harry Smith is about to take it, he stops him and runs over to the Harrogate bench to book one of their coaches before running back and saying the penalty can be taken.

Dopey c***, that can wait and needlessly adds pressure to the penalty taker. Apart from that he was alright.

Maybe he saves his best for when Mike Dean might be watching. I speak for all league one and two fans when I say I hope this time it finally pays off for him, Mike Dean puts in a good word and he finds himself next reffing the North London Derby.

By the Law, he has to administer the caution prior to the restart of play.

Apparently Seb Stockbridge gave a penalty to Harrogate which was outside the area. And sent Kite off.

He hates us

Well I think I may have just seen the worst set of officials we've ever had. The old linesman has to take some of the blame, but it was an absolute car crash. Ross Joyce, who apparently was always shit when we had him in the conference.

The infamous Kettle decided to give us what appeared to be a very harsh penalty today.

Don't think I've seen a ref waste more time than he does telling a team off for time wasting, it's so counter productive.

Lee Swabey was pretty good today. I could take issue with a couple of decisions and I'm sure Northampton fans probably would too but overall he was OK.

He did book a Northampton player for a dive in the box. I was right down the other end of the ground so no idea if it was correct or not.

Rebecca Welch had a very good game last night. Competent, decisive and generally got things right.

If you see Andrew Kitchen is your ref any time soon, good luck.

So many poor decisions, easily on par with Kettle.

Yeah was good overall, think a yellow was harsh as there was contact but not enough for a pen

Sebastian Stockbridge literally ruined our game yesterday.

Gave Harrogate a penalty for a foul outside the area. We did well to come back from that with a man down.

Tranmere v Hartlepool CHRIS SARGINSON with Mike Dean watching since its international weekend

Of these, Sarginson has a few negative reviews in this thread, Toner usually referees in the division above, think he might generally be thought of as decent. I'm sure Boyeson's name pops up on occasion and Madley seems to have divided opinion so far.

Reeves is the only new referee officiating for us this weekend

Trevor Kettle watch
Not many games on given it's international week so to the delight of all, Trevor Teapot has a weekend off.

I've got no real bad memories of Sarginson. His record in our games is fairly benign. No red cards in his 13 games between 2008 and 2016, and only one penalty awarded. He's been more keen to hand out bookings to us than our opponents (21 vs 8) but I honestly can't even remember what he looks like, which I suppose is no bad thing. He's never reffed us at Prenton Park, regardless of whether Mike Dean has been in attendance.

Sarginson was the referee who gave Cambridge a debatable penalty at PP last season and after being Kettled at Scunny we don't want any more of those..

bit late but just to add that our ref last week Charles Breakspear was pretty good overall.

I do think he let us get away with a bit too much time wasting at times but other than a bit of a ridiculous booking for devante rodney i don't think he got much wrong for us.

He’s always fine. One of those where I breathe a sigh of relief when I see his name on our game.

Simon Mather tried to let our game with Bradford flow. Let a lot of shirt-pulling etc. go and played a good advantage for our second. Odd booking of Tom James when a slew of similar fouls went unpunished. Not bad.

Thought the ref for the Newport Orient game was excellent.
Let the game flow well, consistent decision making and a clear Newport penalty given.

Martin Coy in yesterday's game with Salford.

Pretty average, allowed a lot of gamesmanship to go on but put his foot down on one or two occasions just so things didn't get out of hand.

Can’t really say as I noticed the ref a great deal in our game which tells me he did ok. Certainly wasn’t an influence on the result. Maybe could have clamped down a bit when their keeper was taking an age to take a goal kick late on but then he did give quite a substantial amount of stoppage time to make it up.

In the only three games Mr Howard has reffed the Stags he has sent off four Mansfield players now.

Couldn't tell with the footage what the Quinn one was about, but Clarke was last man when he pulled the Harrogate player back with a clear run at goal so don't think there can be any complaints about that one.

The issue is that immediately before the Clarke sending off, Quinn should have been awarded a penalty. If the referee thought it wasn’t a penalty then Quinn should have been booked for diving. In either case the game would have been stopped and the breakaway down field would not have happened, poor refereeing.
