I think Patrick Brough is probably going to you guys
We seem to have been linked with him the last few windows so might be something in it. Wouldn't be surprised to see McFazdean moved on if we bring him in

Wimbledon's not out yet but they can get rid of the vast majority of them as far as most of us are concerned.

No major shocks. I'm hoping we're in for another keeper to push Crocombe and I'm guessing Emmanuel wasn't interested so there was no point in offering him a deal. Pretty cut throat really, we've basically got rid of everyone that we were on the fence apart bar Crocombe and Amos, with the wording suggest the latter triggered the extension himself. Nice to be going into pre-season only waiting on one deal and even nicer that it's not someone that is irreplaceable. Loads to do but the platform of a side that got a top half finish, an FA Cup QF place and that works its arse off is all there. Get this window right and we'll challenge for the playoffs in my opinion.

Just replied to Soup Ladle in the transfers thread saying the same, he's not actually been that injury prone last season. Couple of injuries but was available for most of the time. He'd be very good at NL level.

Reduced budget and a lot of dead wood on contract we'll be desperate to shift. Can't see much early transfer movement for us.

It was posted elsewhere but for the sake of keeping it together, Morecambe’s looks dreadful.

Yep, we're in big trouble. A fun Summer is underway.

Tranmere Rovers Football Club can confirm the retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.

The following players remain in contract for the 2023/24 campaign:
Tom Davies, Jordan Turnbull, Ethan Bristow, Ben Hockenhull, Kieron Morris, Brad Walker, Paul Lewis, Lee O’Connor, Reece McAlear, Josh Hawkes, Rhys Hughes, Harvey Saunders, Kane Hemmings, Charlie Jolley, Sam Taylor.

The Club is in discussions with the following players: Josh Dacres-Cogley, Chris Merrie, Joe Murphy.

The following players will depart the Club following the end of their contract: Jake Burton, Mat Hewelt, Joel Mumbongo, Kyle Jameson, Jon Nolan, Flo Hoti, Ryan Stratulis, Max Fisher, Arthur Lomax and Jack Williams.

The following players will return to their parent Clubs following the end of their loan spells at Prenton Park: Regan Hendry, Logan Chalmers, Jay Turner-Cooke, Paul Glatzel and Luke Robinson.

Manager Ian Dawes said: “I’d like to thank all those players who are leaving us and wish them the best of luck for the future.

“We’ve got a good group under contract for next season already. We have been looking at our recruitment targets for a number of weeks now and I look forward to building on the squad over the close season.”

No big surprises, thought we might have offered Hewelt a deal as squad keeper and given one or two of the youngsters another year. Expecting a handful of those under contract to be sold on too.

I'd take Bryn Morris but it'd depend what we do with Featherstone and if we must sign Dolan as he's an extra wage.

Priority is athletic players, physical signings in the middle and the backline for me. Seems Askey agrees with me.

Callum Cooke and Tom Crawford, the former likely a cut above the NL (if he fancies it), both good passers of the ball so I'd prioritise someone athletic and can put a tackle in. But if we do release Featherstone then I'd be talking to Morris for sure.

Dolan released, interesting. So we don't have to sign him then?

I can see why Hughes was quite happy to loan him out.
Sadly that is my take, I wanted him to be better than he was. He struggled in the Pizza trophy other than a couple of good finishes. Very much reminded me of Omari Patrick, poor control but could score a worldie now and again.

We've announced Callum Ainley and Kelvin Mellor are being released. I'd have probably kept Mellor, I'd have probably kept Mellor. He's played alot of games this season and been fairly consistent. Ainley is capable of brilliance but it's very few and far between, and he definitely needs a change.

Works hard but hasn't managed to get off the mark, so when Baker-Richardson and Long came back from injury he fell behind them two and Agyei, and now had surgery I think on a niggling injury. Hopefully a good pre season and we might see abit more of him, but I do t think k he's ever going to be a consistent goalscorer.

Delighted Ainley has gone. The club has enough passengers in as it is and the second half of his career here was incredibly underwhelming to say the least. Some club will give him a 2 year deal at this level then bomb him off in January to a non league club. The problem with Callum is he never fancies the hard graft and he often spends 15 or 20 games injured. We certainly won't regret releasing him, it should've happened 2 years ago.

Mellor was only ever a one year stop gap for us. Solid enough and cheap enough whilst we were saddled with bad contracts. But if we're to be ambitious, then we have to let him go as he'll only regress next season. He also needs an operation too which may see him sidelined for a while. A younger, more attacking starting RB is what we need next season. I can see Kelv ending up at Altrincham next season and he goes with my best wishes.

What's Robbie Wilmott like these days? Has often impressed me but admittedly we're probably going back three of four seasons since I think I last noticed him really.
