Well not sure how much appetite there is for one of these this year as at least 3 of the spots look to be taken already but I did say I would base it on the result of yesterdays Game and as we won here we are.

Current table -

18Aldershot Town 30 9 6 15 31 41-10 33
19Welling United 31 8 9 14 35 47-12 33
20Southport 27 8 7 12 28 40-12 31
21Alfreton Town 29 8 3 18 31 58-27 27
22Dartford 30 5 8 17 29 54-25 23
23Nuneaton Town 31 6 5 20 26 59-33 23
24AFC Telford United 29 5 7 17 41 62-21 22

The bottom three look dead and buried while yesterdays vital win at fellow relegation candidates Welling has handed Alfreton a lifeline. Southport are now only three clear of Alfreton but have two games in hand starting with Tuesday night at home to Braintree. Aldershot are also in terrible form and with Brett Williams future in serious doubt severely lack a goal threat.

Definitely wouldn't rule Aldershot out if Scott stays. Second half was really uncomfortable viewing yesterday from their perspective.

Welling were 5/1 when Day left but I was hoping they'd be bigger so left it.

Telford are on a decent run at the moment and have a caught up quite a lot so I wouldn't rule them out yet

I think it's actually going to become quite interesting in the next couple of weeks. Not too long ago all four looked dead and buried but with Welling doing their best to cry their way back to the Conference South, Alfreton might sneak out. I'd expect Southport under Brabin and with their games in hand to survive. Surely Aldershot won't get dragged in, will they? :fl:

I wouldn't rule anyone out just yet. There's a chance a team will survive if they make it to about 48 points (and there's always the chance of a random financial meltdown at the AGM Cup too). Telford would need 7 or 8 wins from their remaining 17 games. By no means impossible. Especially if they have a few late games against midtablers with nothing to play for.

Just shows how far you guys have come to be not even mentioned as a real candidate in this thread. Your manager is doing a great job.

Yeah, he's come in for a fair bit of grief. Sometimes justified. Often not. But nobody can argue with him at the minute. Having nice passing football as our Plan A, with the option of the big lump up front (Perry) as a Plan B has been quite effective. Off the field things are going well too. Definitely have the potential to re-establish ourselves at this level.

It must be said, I really didn't rate Altrincham at all when we played them in their first home game back. Looked defensively frail with little/no threat going forward. To have the top half in view is an excellent maiden season back bearing this in mind.

I agree about Alty. I really liked them as a team, even when they struggled against us they still passed it about a lot. Bringing 50 fans down on a Tuesday night and singing all game in the open terrace was very impressive also. Although it must be said that I didn't think they were very good. Perhaps their passing style of play has paid off for them.

Have to admit when we played you at home earlier in the season you looked awful and I had a feeling you'd go down, but after last week in the trophy you looked like a completely different side especially no your keeper

A lot of our improvement is down to confidence, I think. In the Conf North we could pass most teams to death. Stepping up it was obviously more difficult and we were probably a bit hesitant/lacked penetration. Now that the players believe they can still win games by playing decent stuff, we're putting results together.

Is there anyone struggling financially that could get booted out like us and salisbury last season?

Not feeling completely comfortable about safety for us yet but I'd be very surprised if we can't get 13 points from our last 16 games - especially now we've got Hughes back on loan.

If Scott stays at Aldershot, I think they'll almost certainly be going down.

If The Football Genius stays, we are going down. Telford will get out of it I reckon.

To be fair, you're the only side who have made us look good in the last couple of months. Oh, and Woking.

Brabin has got a job at Everton, so assistant Paul Carden has taken over.

I think Nuneaton are gone and it's going to be a huge ask for either Telford or Dartford to get out of it.

1 from Alfreton, Southport, Welling, Aldershot for me.

I dont know why but i've got a feeling Telford are going to make a good fight of it. They've shown already this season they can get results against some of the top sides.

Said it before, will say it again. Telford will get out of it, I fear at our expense.

Not sure Telford will get out of it. If they have any serious hope they most get maximum points from their next two home games against Dartford and us.

On the plus side Aldershot still have 8 of their 14 remaining games at home.
On the minus side, in their last 8 home games they have scored 6 goals and amassed 4 points.
So that's six away games left?
In their last six away games they have scored 4 goals and got three points.
