Average Score: 20.2
High Score: 36 – Jackinky, Murphy, smat
Low Score: 0 – danbylfc, gunnerson

TPLG Cup 2016 – Semi-Final 1

tommytez 34–18 Veggie Legs

Murphy joint-top scores to cut Super_horns' lead to 12 points. Despite sabotaging himself by picking a scenario that required Norwich to win at Selhurst Park (wtf were you thinking?), Markface moves back into the top three after a 95th minute goal from Vardy.

Also top-scoring, smat climbs to his highest position of the season and takes his average to 27.43, reclaiming first from Super_horns (27.30)

Only 130 points behind now. I think if that goes under 100 before the end of the season, I'll be happy.

My only target now is to finish above G-Dragon.

Let's dance, sucker.

Rubbish at the moment. 5 rounds to get my act together or another year of so near yet so far.

Vardy's injury time goal cost me a place in the cup final

Is there a "The Championship Game"? Feel like I'm out of my depth at this level.
There used to be on TFF. For a short while.

I ran TUG (The Unnamed Game), but only for half a season as I went back to running the prediction league when the person who was running it called it a day. I think Magic won the one and only ever TUG.

EDIT: Found the old files. Magic was leading by 56 points.
Ah, awesome. Someone should do that again next season.

I'd offer, but I doubt I have the organisation or statistical knowledge required. Unless I could borrow a copy of Munkiki's brain? :)
The more I think about it, the more I'm warming up to the idea of doing this.

Would anyone be interested?

I'm sure they would. It had a lot of people playing on TFF, and I'm sure it would here too.

The time that is required to run it though is ridiculous. Gos knows how Munkiki has kept it up for 7 seasons (or whatever it is)

Ah in that case might give it a bit of a trial run the last few weeks of the season, gauge interest and see if it's something I could actually feasibly handle!

I'll post up a thread in the Championship section some time in the week. Probably won't get it sorted in time for the midweek games but starting next weekend maybe. Have the last 3 gameweeks and then a playoff round or something.

But yeah. Get the word out guys and gals - it's happening (assuming Munkiki is alright with it, of course?)

WEEK 34 RESULTS
16/04/16 - 18/04/16

Average Score: 25.7
High Score: 46 – Ciderhead, zawesx
Low Score: 0 – Smudge

TPLG Cup 2016 – Semi-Final 2

tommy_b 6–28 JustinQPR

Leader Super_horns sees the gap close further as Markface moves to within five points and despite dropping to third, Murphy makes up another four points on him.

Just as he's talking about being out of his depth, Ciderhead joint-top scores with early leader zawesx and moves to his highest position of the season. A top 20 finish looks just out of reach with only four weeks remaining.

Happy with that week. Whoever can be the most consistent over 4 game weeks out of the top 4 wins now I think.

Not completely ruling out Don'tBringBertie either but he's got no margain for error.

WEEK 35 RESULTS
23/04/16 - 25/04/16

Average Score: 24.1
High Score: 40 – Leewilson
Low Score: 12 – Dave

True Scenarios: 15/25 – A B C D E F G H I J L M R S T

Highest Possible Score: 68 – L M R S T Z (TOT 1-1 WBA)

For only the second time this season, no points are picked up from a score prediction scenario. Spurs responsible for both - the other being a 2-1 home defeat to Newcastle back in December.

Super_horns doubles his lead and remains top for a sixth consecutive week. Markface and Murphy both score below average, the latter's 22-week run in the top 3 coming to an end, while top scorer Leewilson climbs into the top 2 for the first time this season.

Elsewhere, JustinQPR returns to his highest position of the season. A strong end to the season could see him finish in the top five and improve on last year's runner-up cup performance. Ciderhead continues his ascent and closes the gap to 20th. Like last week though, it still looks too big a task.

Looks like a top 4 game now unless Bertie has a stormer.

Very close this. We're all bloody inconsistent. Maybe Munkiki can confirm, but it feels like a low points total for this stage? I'm sure we're normally into the 1000s by now.

I think it's sums up the unpredictable nature of this season. It's been very hard to predict.

If something is unpredictable it generally is quite hard to predict, yes.

Your sarcy assed post was not unpredictable. It wasn't very hard to predict.

WEEK 36 RESULTS
30/04/16 - 02/05/16

Average Score: 25.6
High Score: 50 – tommy_b
Low Score: 0 – Smudge

True Scenarios: 11/25 – A C D E G H I J M O T

Highest Possible Score: 64 – I J M O T Z (EVE 2-1 BOU)

Leader Super_horns increases his advantage further with two weeks remaining, equalling Blitzballer's seven week run at the top (weeks 13 to 19) and one behind zawesx's eight week streak (weeks 5 to 12). Markface matches his score to return to second with Leewilson five points behind.

Murphy, having spent more weeks than anyone else in the top three (30/36), now finds himself 20 points adrift and just six ahead of DontBringBertie. The current top three combined have spent fewer weeks in the top three than him (27 weeks; Super_horns 13 + Markface 6 + Leewilson 8). The only one close to his 30 weeks (9 in 1st + 17 in 2nd + 4 in 3rd) is 9th placed Blitzballer (23/36; 10 in 1st + 8 in 2nd + 5 in 3rd).

In the race for a top 10 finish, smat closes the gap to just five points while last season's champion Veggie Legs moves to within six. Elsewhere, despite two very different weeks Smudge, scoring zero, remains 18 points ahead of tommy_b, top-scorer with 50.
