Thanks for the laughs George, one of the finest comic actors we have produced.

A wonderful larger than life character, I bought his book a couple of years ago for something to read on the flight from NZ to Heathrow, 'The world was my lobster' is a fascinating read

Sorry, but I am absolutely not prepared to say he was good, or decent, or anything, until I know
a) who he voted for
b) his views on immigration
c) his opinions on lager vs real ale
d) what Katie Hopkins has to say on the matter

Sorry, but it seems that if he was "larger than life" then in the eyes of Katie Hopkins he was overweight, therefore scum, because you have to be pretty damn big to be larger than life.

Loved him in Minder playing Arthur Daley he was just perfect for the role. I also remember him as Flash Harry in the St Trinian's films from the 1950's. RIP George.

Yeah he starred in a few of Alastair Sim's films also and the great man became his mentor. He played young Scrooge very well in the that classic version of A Christmas Carol. He could do it all and was very versatile, easily switching between comedy and straight roles.
