I was initially very sceptical of our new Thai owners - what were their intentions, what money did they have? I think a lot of questions were answered - so far - this summer with money being available where it wasn't before. A new training complex is on the way and today the club released information about a proposed development around the stadium:

It will boast a convention centre that can host concerts, an ice-hockey rink (already whispers of the Bracknell Bees moving in the future), housing, restaurants, and hopefully the new Spread Eagle or Royal Rendezvous!

Little old Reading no more.

Looks even better in pictures.

As I said on the other thread, at least it'll make the stadium seem like it's not in the middle of nowhere as there will be stuff around it. Also should be a few places for drinking near the stadium too, and will help to increase the load on the station being built nearby too. Three massive problems with our stadium (for away fans particularly) could be addressed with this.

Not to mention a nice revenue stream for the club too.

As long as it has a pub and the trains actually stop at Green Park station.

Is a lot of that going to be built on floodplain? Could be interesting.

Looks a good plan. Although don't expect they will make much from concerts, Arena:MK has hosted 1 in 2 years. Every week though is some company conference so there is cash to be made in those types of venues.
