Mills had to go, only guiseley offered as little threat as wrexham did against us ( not that we were much better against either) .

Nobody was convinced about the signing of Cameron Belford and pretty much everybody thought that bringing Fowler back was a gamble. And his new signings and player retention has been shitter this preseason compared to his first.

The only thing Wrexham fans were unanimously wanking themselves silly over was the football we enjoyed for those first few home matches of the 2015/2016 season. I mean, fans weren't turning up those numbers for the hot dogs. It was superb to watch.

The best team we faced last season (October)... and also one of the worst (April).

I liked Mills (no one else had taken us to Wembley), but he took that Wembley squad and instead of just adding one or two quality additions, he ripped the heart out of it and added a load of dross like Michael Rankine.

Transfers were certainly not his friend. At the start of last season when he was signing those players (Belford, Fowler etc etc) and Wrexham fans were walking themselves silly, it all looked very familiar to the rubbish he signed for us the pre-season before and turned out that way. It does leave me scratching my head as to how he managed to put together such a good squad for York.
So true. Rankine did nowt until end of season not to mentio goal machine alex roadman and tom allen who was the worst out the lot. At least mills achieved something at gateshead, did nothing at wrexham

Yeah but one of the applicants is Master D with Sparrow as his lapdog assistant.

Given that they're apparently by text message, I probably wouldn't have mentioned that.

Wrexham fans constantly going on about their lack of money - no one says anything.
Woking fans constantly going on about their lack of money - everyone loses their mind.

Why are you surprised?

Wrexham are massive BELT's and therefore a BIG deal who should have loadsamoney and are allowed to moan when they don't.

Woking are TINPOTTERS and should be happy just to exist.

McNamara will probably still find a position at York.

Maybe explains why we didn't get rid of Caskey, hoping that York come after him to join Mills..

I genuinely don't know what to think. I want to be excited but it feels like sentimentality is ruling Jason's head again and whilst the short term buzz will be huge around the club, I wonder about the long term.

We shall see but at least there is some positivity around City for the first time in years.

Not who I wanted but 100% improvement on McNamara but that's not hard,we were totally outclassed by Curzon Ashton yesterday, funny thing was they came with a game plan to be aggressive and in our faces and realised after 20 mins they were just better but losing,

Amazing. Simply staggeringly amazing.

McGill is burying his absolute insanity in the feel good distraction of Gary Mills.

Used the oft agreed line that we need a chief executive to put the ex manager in the role.

This club is still a joke.

It now makes sense why we sacked him the Thursday before our game on Saturday.

I don't think Mills is as bad as some of our fans make out but he did completely balls up this season. Let's hope he comes back to us to take Bakare with him when he comes to collect Caskey.

He isn't bad, certainly not we're we are anyway, we won't go down under him and we're in do danger of going up anyway right now so it's a stable enough appointment.

Only the odd Wrexham fan on Twitter wanting him.

Anyway, York. What does McNamara have over your Chairman?

Could do worae than mills. He got you out of non league after been there for years and hes had success at step 5 with a few clubs. Is ex manager got a off field role so club dont have to pah him off or does the chairman just want to show loyalty towards him

Askey interviewed by our local paper and said he would be interested in Wrexham job if Macclesfield were approached for him.... Interesting!

Not totally surprised, he has been interested in Wrexham in the past. I heard that he's confirmed to MTFC that he'll be staying with us and as he hasn't actually applied for the Wrexham job then I won't get too worried yet.

He's basically repeated his comments from last time. "Flattered to be linked" etc and it doesn't mean much in the scheme of things. I'm not exactly sure how he gets himself into the situation where he's answering questions to our local rag though. A bit disrespectful to Macc if you ask me. Cowley-esque antics.
