I applied for the Hartlepool job, a club in absolute free fall with serious financial problems, in a right mess. I'd do it for free to get a opportunity and show what I could do, never got a reply, not a thing. I thought I would be just what they needed

And to counter this fruitloop from our local journo.

#HUFC are confused by @curtiswoodhous8 claims he applied for manager’s job at Victoria Park, and offered to work for free. I’m told chief executive Pam Duxbury, who has been dealing with CVs & applications, yet to get one from CW. Interested to hear your thoughts Curtis? #Pools

I'd rather have wor Craig Harrison back :animatedf:

Working for free apparently. Probably still feels guilty for unnecessarily spaffing a fortune on Lee Trundle.

The only realistic club that he would leave us for and they sack their manager out of the blue and nab him right when we're in with a shot of promotion. Wrexham that.

We've got a squad with good characters though, I wouldn't write us off this season yet. Well, I would.

That is a huge, huge blow to Wrexham - I'd have fancied him to finish the job next season, should he not have done it this season.

A number of Halifax fans always feel the need to remind us of that for some reason!

Certainly a needless a signing but he was here for three weeks.

Gutted - it was inevitable as soon as Walsall sacked their manager.

Not a clue how we will get on.. hope the board learned their lessons for the next manager after bringing in someone like Mills who completely ripped up everything we had in place upon his arrival. I'd still strongly back us to get enough points to finish Top 7, beyond that we'll see..

Whoever it is needs to work with Carl Darlington, if he is still here. I'm pretty sure he is the brains of the operation and I doubt Walsall know that. Keates has not had a full season as a manager, it's a risk on their part. He's also had that long around the Non-League scene that I reckon he might be a bit out of touch in terms of League football.

...and now it's official, Andy Davies and Carl Darlington named as interim managers.

If it wasn't for characters like Shaun Pearson and Sam Wedgbury, I'd write us off right now but I still have hope that we can pick ourselves up. Maybe we'll stop playing so bloody negatively all the time too.

Totally agree on all parts of this. I like Keates a lot, but I don't see him leaving as the end of the world. If Carl Darlington leaves, we're royally screwed and at the mercy of the managerial merry-go-round.

If Darlington stays, and I'd like to think he will (for the uninitiated, he's a Wrexham lad who's part-time First Team Coach with Wrexham AFC as he's also Head of Coach Education at the FA of Wales), I'm not too bothered who's brought in as manager. I'd hope that Darlington, as the senior "football man" at the club, will be tasked with identifying Keates' replacement, and I'd trust his judgement 100%. Even if it is his mate with the 1990s haircut. No, really.

Shit that should have happened after Wilkin got the sack shouldn't it.

Edit: Not the Harrison coming in bit obviously. Although he would stand a better chance of not completely failing with us.

Feel sorry for the taffs, its so unfair that a team at this level can uncover a diamond and have him just taken away.,.. annoyingly for wrexham if walsall go down and wrexham up i would judge wrexham as the bigger club..... or is that my north west bias?

Walsall's average attendance is lower than ours and they get more away fans turning up on average than we get. I think that's rather telling personally.

Our manager being taken from us by Walsall is quite tinpot when you think about it.

We are going to sweep all before us with Lord Darlington in charge. I'm even MORE confident of a reffed-out-of-it playoff final defeat against Fylde now.

So Adrian Viveash is the early favourite to take over. The name I noticed that was displaced as strong favourite for the Walsall job by Dean Keates.

http://www.thesackrace.com/teams/wrexham

Is he just the man linked will all jobs now?

I have done some brief research and he did get his UEFA pro license down at the Welsh FA and has been back making his own presentations since. Darlington basically taught him football and will know him well. But then if we are going to be linked with anyone who's passed through that place then where the fuck are Thierry Henry and Mido on that list?

Gary Brabin has been stood outside Colliers Park all day, CV in hand, not realising that we have moved training grounds to Nine Acre.
