Just seen your goal, not a chance was it a free kick, he just fell over!!! it's good to be back and can't wait to be at Sincil Bank next weekend.
Yep, Bridcutt is behind the Gills player and doesn’t even make much contact, yet the Gills player just crumbles into a heap, very soft indeed.

That'll do. Far too early to make any really meaningful observations but signs are that we're capable of carrying on how we finished last season though Donny had pretty much a new team out and even allowing for unfamiliarity, man for man they don't look anything like the same quality they've had over the last few seasons. Goals from midfield are what we're going to depend on to replace Pigott and we got a couple from there today - Ayoub Assal at 19 is a genuine star in the making and him and Luke McCormick will be a real nuisance for any lumbering agricultural centre halves. Probably right back to earth with a thump and wilt in our first home game in front of a proper crowd at the new stadium next week, but a nice start today.
You deserved the 3 points, we looked like a team that had met for the first time in the car park before the game but given the 3 separate Covid isolations that might not be far off the mark. Our first 3 forwards are all out injured and we don’t have the holding midfielder we desperately need.

Crewe were fairly poor yesterday. We had a fairly decent spell of about 30 minutes in the first half but then we gifted them a goal and we hardly threatened after that. I'm not going to be too downhearted, Mike Duff's Cheltenham are a good team and our games against them have always been close. After a really strange (and quite difficult) couple of days, I'm just glad we avoided defeat - and we never really looked like losing. Finney was virtually anonymous, which meant Mandron was too isolated (although he had a pretty good game). Ainley showed glimpses but didn't do enough. Murphy and Lundstram were decent and the full-backs looked very good. They were pretty much the only bright parts of the game for us.

I also think our starting 11 won't look anything like that by the end of this month. So agreed, not downhearted after that.

Where do i start i will give a honest view of todays game
Surprised at the line up and felt pretty confident pre kick off.
We kick off and it quickly became obvious that we was playing a shithouse team and a weak pathetic referee
Bakayoko was a beast and hit anything that moved mainly fair ....Harvie for MK was the main target who liked to fall to the floor and whinge at every tackle.
Mk Dons adapted better to the slippery conditions and knocked the ball well in midfield especially Robson who was running the show.
Then a bad kick out from Gilkes to John who slipped let Eisa in 1-0 fully deserved.
We at this point struggled to break mk down as we looked toothless upfront Bakayoko apart
Doyle huffed and puffed yet it was obvious he was a yard off the pace and Dapo was doubled man marked and struggled to get in the game.
Midfield was all Dons Sheehan at this point was not at the races, Sarcevic was a yard behind the pace and Williams tried to match dons physicality.
The Game changed in the 30th min when we got a free kick 25 yards out and Sheehan stepped up and made it 1-1
Then up until half time we had a number of chances to go into the lead.
ht 1-1

Second half
our midfield got back into the game and Sarcevic and Sheehan started to get us on top
Bakayoko fired us in front and at this point it was how many would we win by.

On a rare venture forward Bakayoko give a stupid free kick away as twine lost the ball.

Twine stepped up and scored dons second goal Gilkes again was poor in his positioning........though i now know it was deflected.
All Bolton at this stage and dons fell over kicked the ball away time after time...........Referee piss poor and was losing the game
Sub came on again another time wasting tactic.....Boateng then finished a well worked break to put Dons 3-2 up
Game over so every one thought when we kicked off 5 mins later after dons finished celebrating

5 mins extra and it was all one way we missed a glorious chance in the 93 min and with time running out Baptiste found himself in no mans land in the 95 min, and from three yards out scuffed a shot that just about got over the line...........cue wild scenes

mom Robson/Twine Dons..............Sheehan/Bakayoko Wanderers
the ref was a mug taken in by shit house tactics, the MJ Williams booking said it all, what an awful person Mohamed Alsa is, chip on his shoulder and a divisive bastard

Feel like we edged it slightly, but a draw wasn't unfair really either. Both teams did okay going forwards and looked shaky at the back. Ref let MK go down with no contact all game, which didn't help as it was quite an intense game at times.

Gilks either needs to get up to speed or be dropped as I feel he could have done better on all 3. Doyle a bit off the pace with his lack of minutes. Maybe we could do with Santos back to help tighten it up a bit. Expect he'll get a run in the cup. Johnston looked pretty good other than the mistake for the opener.

You dont take your chances against a good team then you know it will come back and bite. A dominant 1st half from Fleetwood spurning 2 gilt edged chances and playing sone very good football. The 2 nd half Pompey stepped up, stronger in defense, Cairns made one outstanding save, apart form the goal he was never troubled throughout the match. Tough to take as Fleetwood deserved a point at least but plenty of good performances especialyl from young Morris who terrorised his opposite number ( the 3 rd successive match in which he has been MOM )

All I’m seeing is salty Bolton fans who all summer have been banging on about being the best team in the league. You couldn’t even beat a team that only has one coach and have needed our captain to manage us all week.

Great following from Argyle fans but they committed the greatest sin, slagging their old player off, 10 seconds later Freddie scores from 6 inches out,
Those football Gods!

We started well and and scored at just the right times.

We then did what we do really, allowed the opposition to have the ball in front of our defence and midfield, we rarely get much more than 40% possession.

We are direct down both wings and not too proud to lump it up there to Smith and Ladapo.
Brazil we definitely ain't but we are competitive and effective and occasionally exciting.

Richard Wood at 36 seems to get better with age and Wes Harding was MOM.

The rest were all 6 or 7's out of 10 but it was comfortable enough and we should have scored a couple more in the last 10 minutes.
All 3 new lads came on and looked comfortable, hopefully they will all start against Accrington on Tuesday along with the LB/WB that signs tomorrow.

Plymouth look ok in general, the keeper did well, the defence mainly coped ok and the midfield are capable of retaining possession but without actually creating too much.
They had nothing up front though and that area probably need strengthening, their supporters deserve it.

1-0 win at shrews, and with no striker as moult and hemmings are both out for weeks. So that’s a good sign.
Played well first half and should have been out of sight, but second half rode our luck and had to grind the result out.
Can’t see us bottom 4 this season like we started last.

Take your blinkers off mate, Bridcutt barely even touches him, then there’s a delay and he crumbles to the floor. Regardless of that fact, we should have defended it with Griffiths also doing better.
The delay doesn't take away from the fact that Bridcutt uses two arms to pull back Oliver. Watching it back again he also puts his knee/thigh into Oliver's back. There's a reason none of your players (other than Bridcutt) contested the decision. Stupid foul to give away in a dangerous area, and like you say, there we more than enough chances to defend it before the ball crossed the line.

The non foul is about 49 seconds into the game clip.

Got a feeling Cowley will have u up there, gonna be around 8-10 teams who feel they can go up in top two. Gonna be a hard and fascinating league this year.
Just need a few more bodies in as apart from the first 11 we have nobody of note to change the game. Yesterday we had 1 fit CM. Had to play a LB in there. Had 2 academy lads on the bench.

Your wingers caused us problems all game. We were fortunate Bass in goal was on it. Losing one of our 2 CMs in the warmup having to play a a LB in there didn't help, but to be fair to Cowley he changed it up 2nd half. If Morris continues to play like that you'll be struggling to hold onto him. 19 and run rings round Brown for most of the match

Our Academy are bringing through some terrific youngsters. Ason Villa signed 16 yr old Josh Feeney some weeks ago, Premier/Championship clubs are sniffing round 19yr old James Hill and as you say if Morris continues playing like this he'll be on plenty of other teams radars. The hard facts are, we are, and have to be a selling club to survive, where we truly excel is in our Poolfoot Farm Training Complex which would'nt look out of place in the Championship . Wish you well in your quest for promotion

I see the Gills goal came from a Griffiths error. He makes a few and I think he'll be more harshly punished this season than last.
Wasn't a free kick and may have not crossed the line, o well onto the next one.
Appleton wants another keeper yet

Even if true, it was just a free kick, unlike the penalty Brennan Johnson (or was it Tom Daley?) cheated for in the corresponding fixture last season.

Funny how often what comes around goes around.

Sunderland at 31k attendance, regardless of being known as having a strong fan turnout is just incredible. Based on population correlation our ratio to attendance is better, but 31k for a league one opener regardless. Fucking hell.

Not a classic by any stretch Luke but a point probably about right.
A few silly moments when your guy decided to go into the home end (not in front of, actually in)
to celebrate the goal but all in all a lot of huffing and puffing without much quality.
Keeps us unbeaten for the season though
Yeah, seen that now.

Not excusing them going off the pitch but there was a gap there and no fans (there was fans in the stand to their right but they were no closer to them than you would be at any other ground).

I see someone was arrested shortly after but I suspect it'll be a struggle to get any evidence together given where and the quickness of how it happened.

You are right that there were almost no fans in that area, but unfortunately one of the only three there (the short guy in the dark top) seemed to over react and do his nut, for some reason. Started pushing the Lincoln players, who pushed him back so it would be naive to think there were no accompanying verbals.

If that included racial remarks, it is indefensible and that individual should face police charges. Whether the Lincoln players would be willing to testify on oath in court is another matter.

I don't know why they wouldn't, it's not something you bring up for the sake of it.
