Inevitable ours would be off really. Right decision call it early today save any wasted journeys for Barrow. Should look to slot it in for the Tuesday after the Newport game as think both clubs are free then.

We don't usually re-arrange that quickly but would make sense... think it will be the 18th Feb (which is the night I go away sadly for me) as we have Colchester 29th, Wrexham the midweek after and the mid week after that we have the Notts game moved to the Thursday... so the 18th would be the ideal Tuesday with a 5 day gap from the previous weekend game.

Apparently you've got some sort of big fuck off heated tent/cover.

Crewe have been told the game will be on, and they are travelling today.
I'm not sure about that re the tent. I also can't see our regime paying money out to hire something over and above the covers that we already have. Having said that I have just been out (live 2 miles from the ground) and whereas the paths and roads around here were icy yesterday they aren't today. I reckon it will be on

You're right. I've done a bit more research. You've got covers and some lamps.

Goalmouths are frozen solid. No pitch inspection planned until tomorrow as many seem to think it won’t be quite as cold between now and kickoff. Personally, I can’t believe it will be sufficient to defrost the troublesome areas.

If they call this off while we’re half way there my head is going to fall off. It’s about minus one million degrees out there, if it’s frozen today it isn’t going to thaw.

Fair. It’s Sky’s fault as well, wouldn’t be an issue if it was 3pm. The trains are absolutely horrible with a weird massive gap before one that arrives just after 12:30 so loads are having to set off at about 7am and will be in Clee by not long after nine. It’s got a 10am postponement all over it.

The weather in Grimsby is always particularly cruel to football fans. It’s never quite cold enough to freeze the pitch and let you have an afternoon off, but it has a habit of having a wind chill at -5 just in time for kick off.

If the club says it’s on, it likely is, bring your big coat.

I love to get sat down in the lower at 2.50pm and think to myself that it's not so bad and that it's just a bit cold, only for driving rain and gale force winds to start attacking the entire stand for 45 minutes at 3pm.

-3 in Cleethorpes tonight. I’m still scarred from Bradford away being called off when we were walking to the ground last season, to absolutely no one’s surprise.

Even though tomorrow’s my shortest football trip of the season I’ll be mightily fewmin if it happens again.

Yeah hopefully they have the sense to call it early. Happened to us not long back at Colchester too, my train was pulling in when they called it. It's frustrating so apologies in advance if that happens to you tomorrow.

Seems to be a few varying opinions on weather. Accuweather and the Met Office saying -3 and -2. Google and BBC a bit more forgiving and going with 0 and +1s. The weather game has gone a bit in the last few years in my opinion. I feel like they used to never get it wrong but it often is these days.

I have just been out in the Lincolnshire wilds , pretty icey and 0 but have seen it far worse with snow , colder and no postponement come Saturday - i suspect it will go ahead but anyone going should get wrapped up as it will be very cold with the sea air at 12 . I will be armed with something hot and alcoholic in my flask.

Oddly the past two days Vale Park has been glowing Bright Red from inside in night time... not sure what contraption is causing it, be it a heater or maybe just one of those machines that help the grass.
Maybe supplementing your income by growing another type of grass ???

Just be thankful you don't have to come here on a Thursday night only to get dicked 4-1 then.

Artell with the hairdryer on the cold setting, pretending he was trying to get the game on.

He's the man Notts County fans should be looking at.

Yes. Our track record in front of a small, shivering, silent crowd at Blundell Park on a Tuesday night is excellent

I see Wimbledon's brand new pitch covers worked brilliantly.

They made it so that fans would get all the way to London before postponing, instead of doing it at 8:00 and realising that the temperature was never going increase to enough to thaw the pitch out.

We were pilloried last week for calling the game off 24 hours before (not on here tbf) but rather that than false hope and a late postponement instead.

Frustrating draw for Crewe Alex. Didn't play well at all and a touch fortunate Swindons finishing was poor. Manager bemoaned the performance but I'm not sure why, that's largely how we've played in most of our away games this season. Tentative, defensive, just trying keep it 0-0 and hope a bit of quality comes along to snatch a goal. That's our 17th away league game in a row without a first half goal.

Bigger worry is, every time they try a plan B system wise, it doesn't work and throws the balance out of whack. This constant insistence on pushing Williams to LB and Conway into a LCM role doesn't work, nor does having a front 3. With better tactics and a slightly higher level of play, we could be chasing Walsall for the title. As it is, the amount of draws we're getting could see our ceiling being the play-offs. Which is annoying.
