Hoping that we're a bit more into the swing of playing again on Saturday, that Crawley won't be as stiff an opposition as FGR were, and goes without saying, that the match goes ahead then our season starts now

The last two league games Crawley have been a stiff as a wet bog roll ! We played almost 90 minutes against ten men and didn't get a shot on target (60 against Orient, 30 against Harrogate) !

If we play the way we have then this could be an embarrassment for Crawley. The thing is how to stop it becoming that? I personally would look at getting back to basics. Basics in the way we play and the players we use to play it.

If we have Seasy at right back and Francomb in midfield then we are starting to look more solid. Then, the team has to be drilled to win second balls (Carlisle have been the best at that I've seen this season).

I will watch with interest. To be honest I can't see us winning but with a little luck and a lot of effort maybe we can get a point.

Frozen pitch = match off.

Being scared of playing Grimsby
I don’t think we’ve got a good record at Blundell Park, so even allowing for your poor form, not a guaranteed 3 points. The team have looked jaded of late and that goes for the manager, with puzzling substitutions and post-match remarks after the Stevenage demise. If the game goes ahead we’ll deal with it, my preference would be for a delay and get our mojo back.

It is not true to suggest we have looked jaded recently. We have for one game - Stevenage - and Hill's post match comments regarding being happy with a point when you have underperformed made sense to me.

In our previous fixture we showed lots of energy and battered Port Vale.

Not our most optimistic fan is Boz. Not that most of us are. Goes with the territory for most of us here probably. The sensible ones anyway.

No rain expected and forecast to barely dip below freezing, you’ve no chance of it being off.

I predict:

Oldham p - p Exeter City

Looking at the weather forecast, I wonder if it would be beneficial to move the game to the Sunday.
Yep apparently the temperature will feel like -8 on Saturday with the wind chill. Got no chance, surely.

And I agree, surely with no fans going to the game, we could play on the Sunday?

Anyway, there’s going to be a pitch inspection tomorrow before we set off so if it’s going to be P-P, hopefully we won’t have travel again.

I don't expect any of our games to be on anymore whether because of frozen pitches, water logged pitches, covid and also power cuts.

We just barely ever play.

Never realised he had gone. Think his agent has stitched him up with that move though.
On his day he is a good player. Unfortunately he only played 30 games and scored 5 goals in 18 months and was rumoured to be disruptive. Walsall fans will not be shocked i think. Club statement is very telling. No thank you and good wishes like all other players leaving have got.

I never rated Ferrier. He is very showy and charges around the pitch, but his goals and assists record is poor.

So much sound and fury signifying nothing (or very little).

Is Stefan Payne eligible to play, if so Sod’s law says he’ll net an 89th minute winner for Grimsby. Probably off his arse.
As far as I know he is yeah, been excellent for us so far too.

Probably our best performance of 2 seasons ago was Tranmere at home, played some exceptional football that night in a 5-2 win and a nice Wes Thomas goal slammed into the net with his arm thrown in too.

Very cold in Burslem tomorrow and not been above freezing all week, we’ve got every game on so far this season, but might be the first to go tomorrow.

Assume we will call it today or early tomorrow for the Newport travel plans and it’s -3c earlier tomorrow.

Tricky game for us at Walsall if it goes ahead. Was an even game in the first half when we played them at home before we pulled away in the second half. Both teams have drawn a few recently, we aren't scoring many but have conceded only 3 in our last 7 league games. Should have Flinders, Lloyd and Smith back in the squad after isolating, plus Sercombe who played 15 minutes at Harrogate but probably isn't ready to start yet. 1-1 draw.

I will be amazed if we get more than half a programme of games on tomorrow in this league, weather for next week looks alot better at least.

Think this is going to be a quiet weekend for a lot of us.......................

Don't know why they can't just move our game against Cambridge to Tuesday if it's off

March is weird as you’ve had about three weeks with no set midweek fixtures (only rearranged ones) then have 7 games in 22 days.

doesn't matter what they do at the ground if the surrounding area isn't safe it could be off - as it was for one of the earlier postponements at Bradford.

Which was laughable to say the very least.
