Same with Plymouth against us. We should have won the home game for sure. We played well for large spells away but we can never seem to find a way past Cooper. As you say it’s a great trait to have.
Ooh we can join this one too. Despite having more possession, they managed one shot on target against us and we were unlucky not to score ourselves. If any side was likely to win it would have been us but they held tight and got a draw out of it.

I think the gap is too much for them to close in the run in.
If they win their game in hand they're 4 points off Ipswich with 20 games left. I'd say they're still in it.

Looking forward to tomorrow, only the 2nd home game in 2 months!

Could of watched it in barmy 11c yesterday but thanks to sky il be freezing my gonads off in -2c!

Pitch is a mess still and it’s going to be heavy and potentially starting to frost over which should make for a great spectacle! It’s holding us back in terms of performance levels but in fairness we’ve won our last 4 at VP three of those 1-0 dull affair wins so we have done well on it to manage that.

Peterborough, new/old manager in, no idea on our state of injury with Wilson potentially still out. Cass is back in training which is good as we let Hall leave.

Hope to win with their away form but a tricky opponent and a draw to keep the points ticking over wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Just hoping with it forecast to be cold then -2 come kick off it doesn’t get frozen off just as I get up there after leaving work at 5 heading on a 2 hour trip up!

Will be tuning in for this one tonight. It seem a strange pick by Sky, though clearly the battle for 8th and 9th is the real story this season!

Cold weather in the Peak District and the temperatures in Burslem could put hairs on your chest, judging by the local birds, it already has.

Yeah looking at it Ipswich v Argyle would have made sense, although think the reverse was on sky which may have put that one out of contention, by Sheff Weds at Wycombe was a fairly big one.

Possibly got on because Posh were Championship last season.

Either way 40k I think we get so that helps in the window, if the pitch is as bad as it has been it wont be a pretty one to watch mind.

Distance wise from Exeter one of their more local opponents is FGR but the two clubs share very little in common. Exeter are in the West Country while FGR are in the South West.
But following last season's title race it seems at least one of their supporters (David R Boland) is still grieving that Exeter lost title on last day of season and blaming FGR. On the BBC match report comments he has totally dominated most of the 100+ replies. Some of the stuff he says is correct but the truth is that if Exeter had beaten Port Vale at home they would have become title holders. Therefore his anger should be directed towards his own team for losing game or Port Vale for beating his team but not FGR.
Because Mr Boland has gone well OTT his remarks have become quite amusing.

He seems to have a lot of time on his hands. Much of the stuff on there is pure nonsense. I truly could not care either way about FGR.
Oh, and I would say that we are South West and you are West Country, but then that's another matter for debate

I'd argue South West and West Country are two completely different things. The South West is a region in its own right, with the West Country being a part of that region.

He should listen to Paddy to Baddy's podcast with our midfielder Ben Garrity regarding the Exeter v Port Vale game last season. it was quite eye opening!

Distance wise we’re just over 100 miles away by road from Exeter, certainly not a local game for us.

For example somewhere like Milton Keynes is 15 miles closer, Wycombe 30 miles closer and Stoke is only 8 miles further.

Its just down the M5 though, probably easier to get to than MK or Wycombe

Yeah it is relatively easier tbf, although Wycombe is easier if you live nearer Cirencester/the Swindon end of the A419 but my point was more that distance wise we certainly aren't local to Exeter.

For tonight I’d be setting the Over/Under on the first time Sky mention how shocking our pitch is at 20 minutes and would probably take the under. Usually starts cutting up badly after 15. Will likely mean tonight will be an attritional kind of game that probably favours us a little more. Smith needs to do a better job with Clarke-Harris this time, he got owned by him in the first game so reckon it’ll be a couple of minutes before he goes through the back of him.

He may get a rare start depending on Wilson after his goal in the last game.

Assume if all fit it will be Wilson and Harrison with Butterworth but Dennis asked the question last game at least.

Ahem and close our gap to them too thank you very much

*I don’t for one second think we would actually make them as it’s too early realistically.

To be honest I can see why. At no point this season have we gone on a really eye catching run of form. Just keep going WLWDLD or something like that so it’s probably a bit surprising when you see the table. Probably goes to show how inconsistent many are outside the top 3 are to be as close as we seem to be.

Dennis will likely be a sub by the way. For whatever reason it’s when he does his best work same as Sammy Robinson as they just get told to forget defensive work and run at the opposition and make something happen.

We haven't drawn in a while, its been LWWLWLW last 7 since our last draw but I guess WL is better than DD which is probably why we havent kept well out of trouble.

Those two wins are the only time we’ve won back to back this season I think? I suppose the reason behind it is we don’t really have what you’d call a first choice XI as it changes so much due to DC and his favourite saying of “next project”. Seems an age since our last game at FGR but given we won that would say it’s probably not a terrible idea to lump on Peterborough.

It is yes.

I think 3 wins out the next 6 I will be content as that would have us on the verge of safety with 16 to play.

We have:

Peterborough H
Morecambe A
Derby H
Cheltenham A
Wycombe H
Accrington H

So a run of home games and two trips to sides struggling a bit.

We could go 8th and 2 points off the playoffs if we win tonight, with games in hand still on some of the teams above us .....lump on a Peterborough win if I was betting....we never seem to capitalise on these opportunities.

We've had so little football in the past 2 months I have no idea what form we're in. Peterborough looked too good for us earlier in the season but they seemed to have dropped off. We couldn't cope with their forwards so let's hope we have a better plan.

When our next Saturday home game comes around, it will be 77 days between Saturday home games...ridiculous really.

Nov 19th to Feb 4th, bonkers really. Looks like the Lorne St and Railway are sold out still tonight which is good going.

Agreed. Takes about an hour less to get to Exeter than MK.

Not by train it didn’t!

My point wasn’t about how long it takes to get there anyway, more about how Exeter are by no means a local match for us. Just another game against a team from a fair distance away.
