Bostock was rammel but that was just one game. He's been fantastic since March and in the playoff final, the best player on the pitch, and basically the reason we are in L2. That's far more important than any one game, even the Nottinghamshire El Classico.

Goalkeepers I totally, Slocombe was good enough for NL and probably bottom half L2 but always thought if we want to be in the mix we needed a noticeable upgrade.

Stone suits our style of play far far better due to how comfortable he is with ball at feet. Putting that aside he's certainly no better a goalkeeper.

Saying all that this is our first season back in L2 and we've done great so far as the results have shown.
You should have gone for Belshaw -- Especially as he is a fan of yours and lives locally.

Not seen or heard this anywhere else, but I’m not entirely sure McGoldrick is working out that well. For all his quality, the amount of times he loses possession trying something daft is unbelievable, makes us so exposed to the counterattack. Goes missing as well when the momentum of a game goes against us like it did yesterday( other than his yellow for the scything tackle). He doesn’t fit in to a Williams team like Ruben, who for all his creativity put the hard yards in defensively as well. Quite happy to be told I’m talking bollocks on that one though.

I expected Langstaff to be quiet and to maybe pop up and score, but I thought McGoldrick was gonna have a bit more about him today. Only really excelled at tussling a few times, looked very slow.
All joking aside, the fact that you had Rodrigues for so long in the NL was borderline miraculous. Players like him who carry such a threat but also work their arses off are a massive commodity at that level. We were lucky enough to have McAtee doing a similar role for us and we'd have been lost without him. Was always gonna be tough for you to replace Rodrigues.

We had a lad in midfield called anthony howell, disliked by some but he was a legend down in the conference, the type of person you’d want at some dump down south with a swamp of a pitch on a tuesday night and you win 1-0, didn’t work out for him in the league but like you say those types are worth their weight in gold down there and also why some sides going down come unstuck so easily.

What a ridiculously good player Ruben was and is. Top L1 quality playing 2 levels below. He was a joy to watch, his production was incredible with goals and assists. His general play was fantastic, and for a talented flair player his strength was underrated. Had a bit of the young gazza about him in that central midfield area.

Happy to have seen him play in the black and white so often. Saying all that different type of players this Dan Crowley is blooming goodm

I remember Howell, wasn't he in your promotion team? But yeah the vast majority of midfield players that are technical down there are weak or lazy and the vast majority that are strong and bust a gut are somewhat limited. Someone that ticks boxes across all of that has the potential to dominate a lot of games down there. As TVM says about Rodrigues, I'm just happy I got to see McAtee so many times bossing matches at that level because when you're watching Hurstball week in week out a player like that is worth the entrance fee alone. Gave us some great moments.

Rodrigues is class, and somehow we managed to nullify him in that game at home to Notts and Langstaff didn't exist at all.

McAtee is one hell of a player, and scored a worldie against us in the other that game. His brother aint too bad, either.

How is he faring up in league 1 with Barnsley?
