We might have actually stood a chance if it wasn't for that red card, not sure how Quigley has escaped without a booking today

So so boring away at Stevenage. Mid table obscurity secured for the season as there’s no hope of going up the way we’re playing.

Unless we went down... But going off others on here, I’m hoping that won’t happen!

Crap game would say we were the better side but didn’t create anything other than the chance at the end which was a great save btw. Amazing amount of fouls, pitch didn’t help

23 fouls Grimsby committed lol

Good result in the end. Lots of effort from both teams if not huge amounts of quality. Seemed a lot of over hit passes at times in this game.

Will take it at least.

Os win 2 0 at home to Morecambe with 2 late goals.
I think we probably edged it over the 90, but Morecambe had their chances.
Feels particularly good as Morecambe clearly came here for a point and were time wasting and slowing the tempo from the first second, they're efficient, but fuck me they make teams managed by Sam Allardyce look like Barcelona.
Huge win for us that drags us into the playoffs, Morecambe, however, are by far the most boring, anti football team I've seen in years, but then that's Derek Adams for you.
You Os.

Green must’ve given away a record amount of fouls today

You obviously don't watch him each week, he always gives away fouls, it's about the only he does in games.

Anyhow repeat what I said first half for the second half

"
Poor pitch, poor game, two poor sides, can see why both at the bottom.

Southend probably doing slightly better but that's not saying much."

great goal from Rodney, pretty much the only moment of quality in an otherwise relatively poor match.

Thanks Newport, Forest Green and Cambridge. None of you managed a win meaning we still remain top for a few more days :2thumb:

1-1 probably fair, we had more possession but couldn't create a lot. Cadden put some decent balls in but don't think Brown had many saves to make apart from 1 near post block from Richardson tbf.

We always look prone to conceding a soft goal, 1-0 was never gonna be enough.

That was the worst win we've ever had. A truly shit game of football.

Well that's us gone then and Barrow might go down with us. Yet again two truly horrific sides and we lose.

Gotta give credit to Quigley today. To blatantly dive, commit two yellow card tackles in a row and escape a booking is the work of a magician. To then talk your way into the book when the ref is clearly trying to not book you is outstanding.

Do you lot actually want Carver to come on here and start giving it all the billy big bollocks, cos the way youse are all playing, that's what's gonna happen.

If Grimsby and Southend even slightly get their act together they can stay up at a canter because us and Barrow are Northern Premier quality

Not a particularly good game today, low on quality, neither side could really argue they deserved the win so a draw was a fair result. We looked pretty well organised today, Lines had another good game, thought TVC was decent at centre back again. Bit surprised we didn't start Aitchison, Pett or Newton, not bad options to have from the bench, and looking at our schedule they'll be needed as we're playing pretty much every midweek between now and April.

Pretty much the entire bottom half are Northen Premier quality from what I've seen, nobody is good, its just whoever ends up being the shittest at the end of the season, quite a few clubs deserve to go down!

That table you put up never looked realistic. Not many if any side is good enough to string 2 or 3 wins together. We certainly won't. You'll probably stay above most of the pack without playing.

Dreadful game, it’s infuriating how many needless fouls we give away but even worse how much Southend hounded the ref and chucked themselves on the floor. Did it in the opposite fixture too.

We’re horrible going forward, we desperately need signings this week.

I'm saying this now because I won't be able too this time next week.

It's amusing how this is the worst Scunthorpe side in a lot of our fans lifetimes yet we are above Grimsby.

Aye if any team was going to win it was going to be FGR. Cadden always looks quality and that lad Richardson has some serious speed. Does seem to be a bit too much side to side play with FGR though when sometimes it’s better just to go direct but that’s just from what I’ve seen.

Positives for us Conlon was very good and becoming a top midfielder at this level. Jake came and in did well so that partnership with Conlon will be more than decent moving forward. Defensively we were dogged at least and Rodney with his improvement is showing that 3 year deal was a smart investment.

Not much to judge Guthrie on although seems to have a nice leap and won a few headers. Once Worrall is back that could be something to exploit.
