Ffs. Now had a 3rd call up (Doyle for the under 20s) but can't call it off because it's less than 5 days notice. ..

Fair to say everyone should lump on Lincoln on Saturday

Frustrating to lose Doyle, yes. But luckily our squad isn’t depleted by injuries, so plenty of options to choose from.

Having midfield options of Woods, Francis, Cole, Aitchison is decent and we’ll be able to bring on the likes of Mitchell, Cox, Bird etc for some quality off the bench.

Also keen to see Alli have another chance through the middle. He’s proved he can do it so this is an ideal chance for him.

This is a league match so shouldn't be about players taking chances, we should be able to field our strongest possible side, as Lincoln are able to.
Maybe Charlton could help us with an appeal to the EFL???

This shows how ridiculous the system is. Of Charltons three call ups, only Small was in the squad (came on as sub). Meanwhile our two call ups were pivotal figures in our side but we can't cancel...
We have our two keepers called up and have to get an emergency loan in.

To be fair, Connell Trueman has doe ok for us but it's an accident waiting to happen.

I get what you’re saying but as we’re in this position we just need to get on with it until the rules change. We have some quality to come in and it could work to our advantage if one or two of them make an impact. It’s not as if the players we bring in are going to be untried kids.

I think the EFL probably need to look at L1 soon r.e. international breaks. For the time being though, I'm assuming EFL sides agreed to the current rules i.e. 3 call-ups?

they only do half a job anyway, most of our internationals are either playing in Oceania or the Caribbean so they come back unable to start the first game after the break.

A expectant capacity crowd for the game over at Edgeley Park this weekend I see. Tickets in the home end are like gold dust for this one.

Could be a spare seat mate. I'm feeling as rough as a dog the last few days.

Hopefully pass a late fitness test on Saturday morning.

I'm doing a Mansfield pre-emptive excuse in case we lose, i.e I will be out on Saturday so won't be able to go or to even watch it.

Will be following on my phone though and making some sweeping assumptions based on what I read.

Just seen Okonkwo is out for 6 weeks which is a pisser, wrist fracture from one of those Clough thugs last week apparently. Our backup Callum Burton has looked fairly capable from the chances he's had in the cups this season though.

Okonkwo ducking the Stocky test again. Mansfield tried to nobble Hinchliffe last season but their lad came off worse. Cloughie/Nigel thinks his lads are choirboys, very far from the truth.

Massive blow for us with Arthur out for a while. Burton has looked alright in the few games he's played but Arthur's been brilliant this season

Burton will get a bit of stick against our lot on the 23rd then.. So can't wait for him to have a blinder and probably save a penalty

Oh god nearly Saturday again! Our squad is so thin now, you can literally see right through it. Barnsley have been consistently the best team we have played over the last 3 years in terms of their performance against us, so what could possibly go wrong on Saturday. I’ll settle for being in the game at half time this week and see where it takes us. Lavery might make the bench on Sat, but I’m not holding my breath. Stokes has broken down in training, Longelo, Gibbons and Digby all out for a prolonged period. Reyes and Kaikai out on international duty. No need for us to put a bench out for our subs, a couple of fishing chairs will do. 3-1 loss incoming.

So Saturdays ref is from 9 miles away from Stockport (Wilmslow) , He's reffed Stockport twice (both in 2022) gave a penalty in 1 game and send off an opposition in the other, Stockport winning both without conceding.
He's given out 43yellows in 10 games this season.
Arthur out. Marriot and Fletcher still out. Just getting some excuses in

Worst part is 1 of the assistants is a "Mr Raper"

This was a game we thought we'd lose to international call-ups but Hackett aside, the rest are U21's for their respective countries and none of them managed to secure a Play-Off place in the qualifying stages.

Hamer has had to have an operation on his ankle injury and is out for months rather than weeks, which means we're treading water numbers wise in defence. It was a position I said at the end of August that we were running a bit of a risk with and perhaps one CB light and so it's proved.

On the plus side, we're hoping to have Erhahon fit again and it's always a plus when your best player returns!

Not really sure where I stand with our Bristol Rovers, Exeter and Wrexham run of games. In isolation I'd probably take a draw at all three but because they're consecutive, I can't say if it'd feel a productive run or not.

Exeter are similar to Bristol Rovers will a respectable home record so far this season and don't score or concede many either so I'd expect another tight game.
As we thought, only Hackett has gone off on international duty. Roughan, Duffy, McKiernan and Ring will be too old for their respective U21 sides next season.

Sounds like we might have one back (Erhahon) but potentially be without one (Draper) but injuries are basically as they were from previous games.

Not feeling confident about getting away with one last Saturday? I reckon it will be a competitive game that can go either way just like ours.

Like when Dagenham tried to get away with having a ref who basically lived next door to the ground against us.

Reynolds flexed his muscles and got that one changed so I'm sure we are aware of this latest one. Can't be having a Stockport season ticket holder reffing the game.

Sometimes you get a feeling about things - it’s like everytime for instance we play stockport we know we won’t lose, we never do to them… (sorry guys, only saying this as you’re playing each other)

We never get anything at wrexham, even times like saturday when for once we’re the better side against you lot we still manage to lose it

Football has its odd quirks….

How is not being able to watch the game an excuse for losing?

Honestly though, considering you won last Saturday it’s a bit weird you’ve all been a bit rattled from it.

Take that win and inject it, just don’t go around calling people names like some of your fellow supporters.

We never do well at EP, I can only remember off the top of my head 3 wins in the last 25 years. Given we got an absolute pasting last year there too doesn't help. I wouldn't say we're rattled, but our squad is once again unsettled. By the sounds of some Stockport fans, they can win 3-1 or lose 3-1, so we need to perform better than in recent weeks. PP doesn't set out to win games away from home as much as our home games, more like containing then get the opposition on a counter attack, then sit on it. Be a tough game to call...

Looks like we picked up another injury in the Papa John’s so we could have 16 out, depending if anyone’s back.

We’ve sold about 500 so not the worst effort for a 6 1/2 hour round trip, hopefully we can burgle a point.

There's about two million people that live in a nine-mile radius of Stockport. This might be hard to comprehend when you're from a small parish hours away from any town large enough to have its own Primark, but the vast, vast majority of them couldn't give a toss about County.

In fact he could live next door to EP and still be statistically much more likely to be a city fan. If you lived round here you'd know they're not even remotely sympathetic towards their local team. Frankly I'd happier with a ref from a hundred miles away.

Still, ready-made excuse I suppose.
