To be honest these days I see more kids wearing Inter Miami or Al Nassr shirts than I do anyone else outside the local teams! (including my son! :ffs: )

Was at Cheshire Oaks yesterday and the amount of Inter Miami and PSG tops were absolutely embarrassing. If you're gonna go hipster at least get a Dukla Prague or Bursaspor shirt or something!

Just seen the Vale have capped our allocation at 1800, shame as we would have taken a lot more. Let’s up they don’t mind when we cap theirs at 1600 in April. Fairs fair.

The headloss from ST6 when we only give them one stand for the return fixture like we did to Wrexham last season is going to be legendary.

The only thing I can think of is that opening another block could ensue more stewards, turnstiles, also opening the other refreshments kiosk. Crewe haven't taken more than 2k anywhere for years according to one of their fans, so if they're only selling 150 more(potentially) than their allocation, then it's not worth it financially.

I'd prefer as many as possible from an atmosphere point of view.

Most Vale fans are in agreement so far that have commented on the forum and X that its a ridiculous decision.

Also some vale fans will be able to buy in the home ends as they have done it many times before. Before any Crewe fans says no you won't because you have to be a member or have previous buying history, there must be a few vale fans that have this as there's always 100 or so in that big stands at Crewe.

I just can't see why Vale would do it, unless on police demands or something with the return fixture in mind, it seems short sighted otherwise, but then I can't see why police would have concerns about Crewe and not Walsall if that was the case.

Bet our wonderful Chief of Football Police, Cheshire's own Mark Roberts, had something to do with it.

The bloke is an utter wanker and needs putting out to pasture with his archaic Thatcherite views on football fans. He'll resort to anything to get funding from the government for football policing too.

Funny one the Potteries derby. Stoke in a similar position to Forest in that they share a city with a much smaller team, but Forest unlike Stoke could not give a toss about the smaller team. Yet for all the perceived hatred from the Vale fans towards Stoke the last few derbys at VP have barely scrapped 10k (according to 11v11), that would be with at least 4k Stoke in there, plus one match under 9k, which probably meant more Stoke than Vale in VP, and that’s not including the daft diddy cup match the other season. Very odd, I’m sure there must be a valid reason for the poor Vale turnouts?

It's a strange one admittedly. A few clubs struggled during the 80s and 90s. Bolton for instance were averaging 4-5k at times.

It was just after a time when hooliganism was rife and then of course Hillsborough, so you didn't get many families going for a day out. Clubs, especially lower down the pyramid, got hardly any exposure...no social media, very few replays or highlights available. You'd often have to wait until Monday to see the goals on local news. The Premier league also probably pinched a number of fans of local clubs through sheer exposure.

It's coming back full circle now. Our attendances are on the up and we see lots of families at games. The whole experience is far better. Look at Notts, Chesterfield..they weren't getting these crowds 15 years ago.

It's like clubs have realised that not everybody wants the daytripper Premier league games, but they're actually giving people a value and entertaining day out (most of the time!).

I'd imagine if we were competing at the top of league 1 regularly and genuine promotion contenders, we might average towards 10k now. A Vale/Stoke Derby would probably get minimum 13k.

He puts on as many restrictions as he can in order to justify officers coming in on overtime. The vast majority of officers on a match day are getting paid overtime, it's just the ones with the blue trim that are dedicated Football Police.

**EDIT**

I don't blame those individual officers for grabbing overtime when they can, but Roberts is a fraudster.

Work with a load of lads who are City/Liverpool/United/Everton ST holders in Northwich. Because they can't get their kids one to go with them, the kids have turned their backs on the big clubs and are going on the train to Gresty Road to get their football fix as it's an easy train ride from Hartford for them and they'll always get a ticket. This is clearly something that's happening all across the country in other towns surrounding a lower league club hence the increase in gates.

30 years ago, the thought of people in Northwich supporting Crewe would've been insane given Vics were an established National League club. Now we get a lot of young support from the Mid-Cheshire salt towns.

I will stick by what I said when Notts County did it to us, we want fans at games, stadiums full at this level so its crazy when there are empty seats that we are not trying to achieve that, we bemoan pulling fans out their armchairs watching Man United or City and getting behind local teams yet then have barriers like that.

I think for us its the Carol effect, she's pretty much moulded Vale around the community, the Million + free meals and what they did during Covid, to the Fan Zone and encouraging families to go, you barely see any trouble like maybe 10 years ago anymore which has helped increase attendances.

It felt a waste last season as the awful home form winning once after Dec 29th to the defeat of Chesterfield this season in September that we would lose a lot but obviously ST sales kept fairly level and added in with form if we keep it up should see further increases, towards the end of the Play Off season 3 seasons back we got 8-10k for the last three matches so its always how you keep hold of them.

Vale is a completely different club now, light years difference to what it was pre-Carol and its great to see.

With Chesterfield, Lincoln, Notts County for instance showing similar stories it shows it can be done in the lower levels.

One thing is for sure now though. I'm positive we will only give Vale 1600 for the game in March. We did it to Wrexham last season aswell, so I'd be shocked if Vale get anymore than 1600.

Wrexham oddly restricted us about 100 less tickets than everyone else, putting extra segregation over seats. Like others have said will probably be because of police acting like a handful of school kids are Millwall in the 80s.

Thank you for the kind words aimed towards my beloved Notts County FC in regard to our incredible increase in support especially at Meadow Lane. It's unbelievable and heart warming.

Nice to see other clubs do similar. I feel a little sorry and concerned for the ones that haven't had a big bump.

If you do we can't really moan about it, I do hope though common sense prevails in the coming days.

Didn't take that long, cap has been lifted now. As you say common sense prevails. Can only see us selling 2k at most, but if you've got space everyone that wants to go should be able to.

Even if we only sell 200 more, 200 x £25 plus is £5000 on the night, that’s Carol’s bar bill sorted. All jokes aside, no team in league 2 can afford to miss out on an extra £5k for a nights work.

We sold 1900 for notts county and there was alot of mither about not being given anymore tickets then notts county caved in and gave us another 300 which sold in about 20 minutes. So we took 2200 to notts county but probably could have took more like 3000. Every Crewe fan that wants go vale on Monday will get a ticket but that won't be the case for the game later in the season when the allocation is either 1600 or 2300 vale could sell 3500 for Crewe but obviously never allocated that amount.

In hindsight the fans may have thought more like 3000 for Notts away but before the game PVFC didn't. Hence 1900 to start with.

2,200 was a great following and plenty.

There is not much love lost between the Alex & Stockport, though they probably see Altrincham as their main rivals in the intense Manchester suburbs battle.
I could not give a shit about Stockport. As far as I'm concerned, they've come back from a decade playing in Sunday league and started pretending that we're their rivals.

Heyup mate, how you doing down here?

Forest fans don’t give a fuck about Notts County in any capacity, in fact quite a few probably support you, so it’s all a bit silly really.

Unfortunately our rival spot is taken up by our Derbyshire friends across the M1, so as discussed on here before you are unfortunately just one of those clubs nobody cares about enough to have a proper rival.

No shame in it. Plenty of other examples.
I swear Conker has Mansfield alerts set up on his phone on here. Someone’s mentioned us, must reply!

When I used to work in Notts the Forest fans cared very much about how we did, though admittedly we were closer in the league than what we are now. Celebrated like they’d won the whole thing when they beat us on pens in the league cup a few years ago.

Funnily enough in all those years working and living in Notts never met a single Mansfield fan.

Forest fans tend to belittle Notts but on the occasions when we've beaten them, many years ago now, they weren't at all happy.
We were rivals, derbies were big deals but our collapse over the last thirty years has diminished it.

If I ever find a Forest fan that cares I’ll be sure to let you know, personally know and come across many working in Nottingham for many years now but somehow I’m yet to come across one, just the occasional fan that instead will visit Meadow Lane for a footie fix. Can also confirm I’m yet to meet another Mansfield fan in Nottingham either (why would you!?) although I do often see ones dotted about waiting for the pronto on match day!

No need to swear either mate, because as we are both aware it was a Notts County fan that brought up Mansfield, and the L2 section is a Mansfield fan bread and butter, so I’m always watching. So you best behave.

Conker is posting about Notts once again and surprisingly we haven't heard a peep from his buddy Adam. Can someone please check on him? There is no way these two have fallen out , perhaps he's just enjoying the heights of L1, as he should.

I watched a Forest fan vlog of our play off game with Notts and he was wanting County to win so in the comments I asked him why a Forest fan would want County to win and he replied I want all Nottingham clubs to do well I haven’t anything against Notts.
Which sums up just how much rivalry there is from Forest’s side.
