Home to Gillingham for us, They're doing well, we're not. We'll have plenty of the ball, they won't, they'll win, we won't. Unless we don't concede in the first 15 minutes and our strikers start firing, then we could give someone a good hiding.

Away at Fleetwood.

They looked decent enough against Hull even though they haven't had a great start but they'll be there or thereabouts again I suspect. Another possession hungry side who we'll be happy enough to let have the ball I imagine.

We'll be without Jackson (suspended), Morton and probably Melbourne. Walsh and Hopper might make it. We definitely need Hopper back or we'll have no physical presence up front.

Blackpool, if King of the Bottlers Robinson doesn’t influence this one. We haven’t trained for most of the week as we’ve been waiting for covid tests. I still fancy us, we looked like we’d found our rhythm against Wigan.

We're at home to Hull. Don't know what to expect - we beat Fleetwood, who subsequently beat Hull easily, but it doesn't always work like that.

Yeboah Amankwah, the young defender we signed on loan from Man City, needs an operation on his knee, so is out for a while. Humphrys and Baah are back in training, but probably a week or two away from playing. Paul McShane got a knock at Accy, and is 50/50, though I expect he'll be very keen to play against his old club.

Possible team
Bazunu
Keohane, O'Connell, McShane (or McNulty) , Bola
Morley, Ryan
Rathbone, Lund, Done
Beesley
Subs: Lynch, McLaughlin, McNulty (or Hopper), Brierley, Dooley, Newby, Tavares

Result - unpredictable...

Got to say I am a lot happier after loan signings of Tom Edwards, full back from Stoke and Charlie Mulgrew from Blackburn. We were definitely light at the back so this gives some steel to the defense
Interesting game against Lincoln who have made a fine start, we struggled to break down Wimbledon at home and then 'upset' the form book against Hull. In fairness Hull played some good attacking football which suited us so hope Lincoln come with the same mindset !
Perhaps tomorrow we maykeep our first clean sheet of the season, which will be ok so long as we score one ourselves

Blackpool look better on paper than what they have produced so far. Be an interesting one. I’ve still absolutely no idea what to expect from us this season.

Away at Pompey, we’ve a decent record there of late but the way we’ve played in our last 2 games made me doubt we had a chance, the 2 signings today have made me a tad more optimistic

An excellent 24 hours in the transfer market, Callum Connelly has joined us on a season long loan, The guy made a massive contribution in that run we had after Christmas so fingers crossed he can make the same impact as before
Be interesting to see if he makes a start/appearance tomorrow

Deja Vu for us so far
Think we're missing a little bit of quality to compete here really. Hull had Honeyman, Peterborough had Dembele, Plymouth have got Mayor (though I think McWilliams has clipped him a bit). Need to stop rotating the defenders all the time too, they always look like they don't know each other.

Crewe fortunate for a point. Could tell we have barely trained for 2 weeks.

Four losses on the bounce now
I thought Plymouth might have been a little bit better considering their form in the table, Nouble and Mayor had good games though.

Great win away from home and a clean sheet, Sims made a massive difference when he came on and getting the assist for the goal must have put most Pompey fans off their tea tonight

Not the greatest of games at Gresty RD today. Blackpool looked the sharper though. Probably due to the fact we’ve barely trained in the last 10 days or so. Surprised Blackpool have struggled so far, they’ve got some decent players. Tough week coming up with games at Sunderland and Doncaster.

Played really well away at Fleetwood and were the better side although they could have nicked it at the death. We're really enjoyable to watch which is so frustrating that we can't be there in person. Hopefully Jorge Grant who was man of the match again isn't out for too long, looked a worrying injury.

We didn't concede in the first 15, had the possession and the strikers both scored, a step in the right direction, start to look up that table now.

Not the most exciting of games, and we never played that well, but we won. Northampton only really worried us for a ten-fifteen minute bit of the second half and scored. Frank the Tank really should have scored a few more with headers, so you can see why he is league one and not higher.
immediately after our games watched the rugby, well done Chiefs - a bit nail biting at the end, but great result.

Your a good team with plenty of attacking flair. I think a draw was a fair result all round, for us its our first clean sheet of the season so something to build on.
Michael Appleton has built a good squad and will be the happier of the 2 managers, Barton can look forward to our new loan signings coming into contention, easy to see why we pursued Charlie Mulgrew and he will have a huge impact on the whole team

Sounds like a frustrating one today. Seems that we had a fair amount of the ball, which I wasn't expecting. I thought we'd be happy to let Fleetwood have it.

With each passing game, it seems as though we're likely to end up a fairly solid L1 side this season, which will be an improvement on last.

Frustrating in not winning certainly but that performance was light years ahead of where we were last season. We must already be close to amassing more away points that last season? Full expect to be around 12-15th but MA has done a great job so far. Unrecognizable from last season now he has his own team.

Can see Blackpool's issues, they dominated the ball and tactics for most of the game yet they still barely tested the Alex defence.

This though has largely been our issue for a while. We have Plan A, which is to control the ball and possession. But when teams come with a high press and stifle our passing game, we don't often have a lot of options except from shifting things around slightly. We found last season that most teams that came to Gresty Road either did have the quality, the fitness of the discipline to maintain it and we picked it apart. Can't expect games like MK Dons and Wigan every week.

We'll pick up enough points at home to be ok, but away from home, I do worry a little bit, especially given our run of away games in the next month.

We’re really struggling with our injuries and dreadful individual defensive cock ups. Baudry is costing us each and every week. Bit toothless up front, too. Not a good combination. Still reckon there’s more than 4 worse teams than us, though.

Another fucking dreadful performance from us. Doncaster weren't great but didn't have to be and we posed so little threat that we can't shithouse games like we used to as our defending is also a joke.

Gillingham and Sunderland away are our next two games and I expect nothing from them. Kenny Jackett needs to do the decent thing and resign and the board need to accept it because we're sleepwalking our way through this season.
