Can't see us getting anything at Mansfield. Good side who got a confidence booster on Tuesday whilst we played 70 minutes with 10 men on Tuesday with us just chasing the ball the whole time.

Quick jaunt up the A12 for Orient in what will be our biggest away attendance of the season. The Ewes might even break the magic 3,500 mark with our help.

Orient’s record at their soulless hellhole is dreadful, but I think they’re certs for the bottom 6 so I’d hope - and indeed expect - to see our unbeaten record extended.

Initial allocation sold out. Only one train back towards London after the game due to the strikes, which might well put people off.

Without Oates we will just have Bowery and Swan that’s really concerning for me. Akins Boateng and Hawkins sound all likely to miss out again.

Given that JR has pretty much said if there is someone clough wants and the price isn’t ridiculous he’s stump up and this has been an issue for a good 6 months or more i’d imagine the issue will flare up again if we struggle infront of goal.

On face value we aren’t half a tough fanbase to please.

Bit of a bugger with the trains being off with me travelling about 5 miles more than you guys on the same route, so heading back tomorrow night.

The best advice i could give you is don’t play passing football against us when we’re at home!, though now i’ve said that you’ll pass us off the park!

Any fans would be welcome in town, there seems to be a few with outdated views they’d be loads of trouble as “we’re knuckle draggers” (which is an interesting view as i’m very familiar with edgeley  )

If you’re after a beer the railway is always good shout, if not there’s a few closer to town also, if you no-ones showing colours there’s a good set up of bars etc behind our main stand, though the gate will be closed so you’d need to walk round.

Trains have scuppered a lot I know going down. I can't make it this Saturday regardless but it would have been a pretty healthy away support. Not sure how many we'll bring now. We took shy of 1,200 to Doncaster on Tuesday night with no trains back but not sure for this one.

We generally do try and get it down and try to pass it tbf. So sounds more and more like it'll be your day.

Yeah, I wouldn't think of Mansfield as being too bad re: trouble. Don't think it will be something that concerns too many of our lot. It'll be the trains that scupper the away following sadly. But we'll still probably take more than most of the other North West sides would on a normal day.

Oh aye, salford will bring about 50 with or without trains

Away at Colchester where we don't normally play well or win, but we've scrapped a few wins there since they moved to their new stadium in 2008.

If we win this I might believe we have a chance of having a good season, we'll more than likely sell the away end out and will have a large following - which usually at Colchester doesn't work for us.

We need to be more ruthless in attack with the chances and moments we have, missing chances and picking that final pass is something we need to improve on.

Expecting Dan Happe to come back into the team and Craig Clay will be back on the bench.

Home to Sutton, first time we've ever played them, so they should bring a few up for a new ground 'tick'. No idea who they have or how they play, but I hope we'll be too strong for them and we get the rub of the green with a decent ref.

Bloody Rochdale have sacked Stockdale! Timing gents!!
it had to come really. He's had a season plus the 5 games this term, and we are (barring 30 minutes against Grimsby, and about the same against a woeful Burton side in the cup) utterly devoid of attacking prowess.

You'll be hard pressed to find many Dale fans with a bad word to say against Stockdale as a person...he always handled himself with honesty and dignity, apart possibly from his last ever interview where he dared to say that we deserved something from the Stevenage shambles.

So... who will take over?

I think we need someone with experience of L2...but please not Graham Alexander, whose teams send me to sleep every time I watch them.

And if we go for an in house appointment; I'd cringe if it were to be Jim McNulty who has shown an inability to defend whilst on the pitch, and thus shouldn't be allowed to try to fix a really awful defence who have conceded goals from set pieces in all of our league games so far.

So; which other managers are available at the moment, and importantly, within our budget ?

Imagine some non league cloggers with players you’ve never heard of who’ll bully you, fall over at every oppurtunity but then beat you and you’re about there.

Newport away. Their current home hasn't been a happy hunting ground for Rovers, we've nobody returning from the injury list, from the manager's post match interview sounds like we may even have added to it and outside the starting xi options are limited at present. The hosts seem to be in poor form so hope of coming back from South Wales with at least a point.

Games against Newport from our perspective are generally orrible affairs. Wembley being the exception.

Saw Ian Holloway loafing around in our local Sainsbury's the other day, didn't seem to be doing much so worth a punt

He's lost it, not worth even considering the guy; he is just a dreaming waster. Says what he thinks you want to hear and does the opposite. You'll not find any Grimsby fans having a good word about him.

I mean clearly it didn’t go to plan if you went down but it did seem like a new dawn at the time

You’d think that would work once, but twice? Imagine getting turned over comfortably by a bunch of non league cloggers at your own gaff when you’re gunning for automatic promotion.

that’s football for you, would be boring if the better side always won. If we’re to go up we need to learn how to play against styles like yours (which are as legitimate as any other approach)

You still are that side though, i can’t wait to get turned over next week

As convenient as it might be for you, you don’t just to get to claim you’re the better side ‘cos you have a few more fans and think you play like 1970’s Brazil. Take this view from last season from a Mansfield fan with actual working eyes:

‘Outplayed twice now this season by Sutton. Well played, you outclassed us. Looks like it'll be the play-offs at best for the Stags. Let's hope we don't get Sutton again in them, otherwise we'll get another thrashing and will have blown another season.’

but we were better than you, which is why we finished above you.

I’m not claiming anything, i’m stating fact.

If you’re looking for an absolute chancer who’ll work for a pittance, then Boss Embleford is your man.

Nearly every ground was new for Sutton last season but they didn't travel well, especially up north. They brought about 100 to Valley Parade

Too be fair if I lived in Sutton I doubt I'd travel all the way to Cleethorpes when there are so many other options to do in London over a weekend; and I don't just mean watching football. So, well done to how many actually travel to watch them away, especially those that come up tomorrow.

Allegedly. He promised to put £100,000 into the club and become a board member, promised it was going to be a long term project and he was here to stay, going to buy a house in the area. Started bringing in old journeymen and old mates, they played darts rather than actually train (said it was team building). He got into cahoots with our then chairman and they invited a known fraudster to join our board (who thought there was money to be made from the 'Regeneration Money' Grimsby Council was getting, as did Fenty our ex-chairman); luckily the fraudster was outed by the local newspaper and supporters. Holloway didn't think the new owners were going to work with him and didn't like their approach, so he did a runner.

There is a lot more allegedly.

187. Pretty decent given that’s likely getting on towards 10% of our regular supporters.
