I thought we had a half each, the fact we conceded due to a free header, and the free-kick was another shocking individual error by Sweeney, and we drew, so basically it’s same old Mansfield.

We are shite at keeping the lead, at home, against bottom Grimsby, take the lead twice and we still fuck it up. Shocking.

I forgot to add that Clough brought on Sweeney (CB) and played him upfront, utterly bizarre from him today!
Yeah you looked susceptible to corners, freekicks too. More so than anyone we've played recently, but that could be more down to Waterfall playing, despite him tanking this season he's a good threat from set pieces.

Have had a lot of complaints recently and Lenny missing a few sitters, so it's actually quite nice to finish a match and feel like it was just desserts.

Walsall more than deserve to be in front......Keep the same team we lose.
Lee as much as i bigged him up was at fault for the goal
Fonz yet again not touched the ball

We need to step up second half......Nobody but Cheltenham and Cambridge want it enough.
Fonz needs replacing asap........nothing to lose straight swap for Maddison
Well what do you do when you are the best player in the league and you have not closed your player down and your team is losing 1-0 at the break.

You go out and run the game score the equaliser......then get your team a penalty to get the winner.

Take a bow Kieran Lee

Lew only sees good things when it suits him.

Despite them coming on and us playing slightly better (wasn't difficult after the first half) we still didn't create a chance from open play until the final minute when we hit the post.

Williams while scoring the goal , had at least two other similar free kicks go way over the bar, and several crossing free kicks and corners that didn't beat the first man, one even went out of play before it reached the box! If it was LJL hitting the post in the last min he'd be saying he has cost us 2 points, no mention of Williams doing that.

Spokes now has more lge appearances under Hurst than he did under Holloway as well, so Hurst has shown more faith in him that Holloway ever did.

Notice he had nothing negative to say about LJL today so doesn't mention his name at all. He's now beating Matt Green lge goal scoring record playing less than half the games and scored more than the beloved Hanson again playing less games. He is also now our best scorer based on minutes per goal this season (not difficult with this squad really, but not bad for someone who is crap at scoring!).
Gladders we’ve disagreed about loads of things in the past and 99% of those I’ve been proven right about in the end.

Just watched our header back, not sure what Williams is meant to do with that, certainly not worthy of Hurst criticism given he had a goal and an assist

Salford were absolutely awful today, no quality and no effort. Can't remember them having a shot at all.

A special mention to the referee, who gave a free kick against Conor Thomas, Richie Wellens has a moan that there's no yellow shown, ref goes and chats to him, ref then gives the yellow. Absolutely incredible.

We were awesome today, 2-0 flatters Salford, it could easily have been 4 or 5.

If we can play like that for the rest of the season then we should go up quite easily.

That if is doing an awful lot of legwork though.
Tuesday nights are the issue though

Did well with their offside goal though by going to speak to the linesman.

Other than that, he was dreadful for both teams.

Solid win for us, especially being down to 10 for the last 15. Harrogate pushed for a winner but couldn't break through. Lavelle now back after a 1 match ban, the next 2 games are huge.

What's happened to Colchester? They're usually always in and around the playoffs but have had a stinker this season. I've always wanted us to sign Nouble but he looks past it.

We were very good first half, movement and intensity was too good for Colchester. Second half wasn't so good but we managed the game better and employed some shithousery tactics which is good to see as we never did this before.

It's a shame that we're only just getting towards a fully fit squad, as we can beat most teams in the league with our first team. We've signed too many players that can only play a handful of games each season, but when they do we invariably look good. A case of what might have been.

I believe they’ve had huge budget cuts. The club is in turmoil off the pitch too.

Look at how different we look with Manny. Different gravy but he’s always injured. Let’s hope we can use him until the end of the season. Monty limped off at the end so hopefully that was nothing.

Liked the timewasting and shit housery today, it’s something I’ve moaned about us being too nice and we were happy to do what others do to us a bit to get the job done, especially as we ended up a bit leggy at the end, this week off is the right time to recharge and Pope is back Monday for the friendly with Hereford.

Has an essence of two seasons ago about this where we finally sorted our shit out in the end but even if we won all the last 9 it would still be a colossal failure for this squad and the backing and expectation for the season.

I have to say though Clarke does seem to be getting his ideas across and we now look more solid, make changes tactically (today Col U surprised us with a diamond so we slipped into a 3-5-2 from our 4-4-2.

Just need to keep the momentum going, keep the points ticking over but looks far better than it did 4 days ago for us.

Yeah their commentary team mentioned they have Tranmere, Bradford and Bolton next three so some tricky ones there, it was strange as Senior always looks like Carlos against us but didn’t even start. I know they’d lost a couple to internationals but Nouble looked poor and he’s usually decent against us, Smudge had him in his pocket.

As I say I respect their owners support for Carol and Kevin so hope they can scrape through but they look like we did a month or so back and with that run of 1 in 20 they may require the bottom two not to improve.

the 4th game is home to us.
I still have a sneaking suspicion that Southend will improve starting with beating Walsall...

Issue with Southend is goals, 22 I think for the season is really poor and can’t deserve to stay up on that. Unless they somehow find scoring boots they’ll need a lot to turn it around.

Been saying all season the league WILL make sure Tranmere get promoted
To compensate for our unfair demotion last season? Anything's possible I suppose...

Rovers got lucky today, thought the first penalty decision correct and a daft one to give away, but wasn't sure about the handball one, presumably down to the position of the defender's arms. However aside from the equaliser, Exeter didn't really test Scott Davies, credit must go to the manager for putting O'Connor to man-mark Jay in that regard. Draw probably a fairer reflection of the game, but I'll gratefully accept the win and enjoy the rest of my weekend.

Tranmeres relegation last season was unlucky, however, the majority of sides voted for the cancellation of the season on PPG therefore it was legitimate decision and rightfully stood.

I’d have been annoyed if i were a tranmere fan tbh on that though.

You got deducted 12 points because you constantly cheated your finances. You had to use young players for the same reason. You were not hard done by. You broke the rules and got punished for it. Thats how rules work. You get penalties when fouls are committed. Players get red cards if the referee thinks it deserves it or hands out two yellow cards he thinks deserve it. Shut your crying mouth up. You are where you are because you were cheats and got caught out.

Never mind though. There are plenty more clubs in the Championship who are screwing around with finances so you could have plenty of company in the fraud section of football history soon.

I thought today's performance was one of our poorest under Hill in terms of quality on the ball, but magnificent in terms of spirit, organisation and defending.

From about twenty minutes in we looked absolutely goosed after our hectic schedule - three games in six days while Exeter had a week off, including a Wembley final - but we somehow kept our shape and discipline to see out the victory. Exeter had a lot of the ball but, unlike the reverse fixture, did very little with it, largely due to the quality of our defending. Time will tell, but it felt like quite a pivotal victory in the promotion race for us.

We have got another 600 mile round trip to Colchester on Tuesday night, after which we will have travelled over 2,000 miles in fourteen days. I am expecting another slog, and hopefully another ground-out one nil victory.

I disagree on Tranmeres pens, first should of been a free kick to Exeter but the second is clear hand ball, hands out like that your asking for a penalty.

The Southend penalty incident was weird, why the Scunny lad shoved him in the first place is just plain stupid... the faking of a facial injury to get him sent off though was a disgrace and one which should result in a retrospective ban for me that.

Is Norman always like that? Was on the floor every 2 minutes? He was embarrassing. Thought ref had given a pen at the end for a second. But the one when we were attacking in the left corner when he backed in and just threw himself to the floor. Can’t believe the ref gave it.

Tbf he did make a bit of a meal of it Dapo but he had his hands on his throat. You played well first half. Completely nullified us and scored a good goal. Thought we were in big trouble.
Yes he is decent player but spends more time moaning and trying to influence the ref and our big problem is we can play well in spells but always do something to shoot ourselves in the foot we cant put 90 minutes in without a disaster that turns a game against us.Dutton is out of his depth but he didnt create this shitshow thats all on Clarke i hope for there sake he does better at vale.

Just makes me laugh that you constantly criticise Hurst for his subs and LJL for missing chances.

Yet no praise for making subs at HT today to change the game and no moaning of another player from missing a header from a yard out, costing us a win.

Just more moaning about how he's not played those players sooner

So disappointing. We just can’t seem to do it against the better teams. We are horribly prone to being at another level (lower) when 1 or 2 key players are out, and we are back to Randall and Williams being out at the same time (again). Ref was terrible too and I don’t normally moan about them. At least he was equally terrible, favouring Tranmere in the first half, and us in the second half. Another season full of promise blown again. We need a serious run of wins now, but it’s not gonna happen with key injuries.
