Spot on, the only other time we have had a keeper on the bench was Salford at home

That game was also live on Sky

Moore-Taylor back for us, but now Cadden is out instead ffs. Big loss that.

Looks a fairly attacking side though, which is good to see.

Pitch looks good yet narrow, think it may be scrappy

Various things really over the last month or so. Covid is back in the camp this week and those who had Covid back in January time visibly haven't fully recovered and are struggling still. Lots of long term injuries all at once has taken the spine of the team and experience out the squad. We're missing our top scorer, most creative player, Bridcutt went off injured again last night, one available CB (who's had Covid), no available strikers, players covering other positions, having to play January signings too early, a low average age (I'm guessing 20 last night because when Bridcutt went off our oldest player was 24). All gone to shit really quickly.

We could have coped without two or so out every week but it's all hit at once. Bit deflating really because we genuinely would have been very close to getting over the line this season, we've been excellent and still have Hull and Posh to play as well after Sunderland last week.

How has Bramall started with you? Caught bits of the game last night and didn't pull up any trees.

Looks like it. Exactly what we didn’t need.

Improved slightly but looks nowhere near our level at the minute. I think Appleton was a little taken back by how low his training stats were compared to our players so it'll take some time to get used to us and vice versa.

That said, I don't think his was brought in to play too much this season. He's been playing in an unsettled side because of injuries. His pace will be an asset but defending clearly not the strongest area of his game. Appleton managed to convert a CM into a competent LB so he'll turn out ok I imagine.

Sounds fair - always a good attacking threat for us but susceptible defensively. He was really poor in the first half of this season though so it's unsurprising that he's not stepped up and hit the ground running straight away.

Forest Green should be relegated for this camera angle.

I like the angle - feels more like I'm there. Also feels appropriate for a fourth division game.

I’d prefer Sky built a temporary gantry so I can see the game properly.

We already have a perfectly good TV gantry on that side. It just isn’t that high up because it’s a small ground.

Declan John is Bolton’s best player, alongside Santos.
Very tight cagey game which is to be expected.

You look to still have a decent shout of making the playoffs, even if the game in hand below you leave you hanging on to 6th spot.

Bolton have got better players then us all over the pitch. We’ve got a young striker and right back in midfield, 2 young loanees up front. 0-0 would be a good result.

We don’t usually turn up in the first half. Pretty even so far but FGR definitely getting better as the half goes on

That’s the difference. A couple of minutes earlier Forest green create a great chance, he should have hit it first time but decides to take a (poor) touch and the chance is gone. Bolton create a chance, Doyle strikes it first time with quality giving the keeper no chance.

Exactly. Actually thought it was against the run of play to be honest. FGR were starting to stretch us.

Yeah, think the Doyle chance is actually harder too. Not sure how Matt plays but maybe he'd have done better.

Would have struggled to do worse tbh.
