They say it's never easy coming up against a side coming in off the back of a defeat, so with us coming in to this with 7 defeats in 8 there's probably no point Shrewsbury even turning up....

What a treat we've got in store at SB.

Two of the lowest scoring sides in the league who are also bang out of form, winning one game each in the last 2½ months!

Weird to think that we will leapfrog Posh if we beat them this weekend. Hopefully it survives the weather. Currently showing 7 degrees C at 3pm Saturday so should be OK.

Mousinho has done a good job of papering over the cracks so far, but this game is a step up. At least the players are confident and enjoying their football much more. On the downside we will miss the suspended Morrell after his stupid red yesterday. Curtis looked crocked so he's likely to be missing also. Louis Thompson should hopefully last at least an hour as he works his way back to fitness. Likely Jacobs will replace Curtis.

It's nice to be looking forward to games again. Long may it continue.

We’ve won more games than Lincoln but we’re six points behind. Never knock the value of draws. ;-)

There's no escaping the fact that it's a massive game for us this week. We need to start getting some wins on the board having only won once in the last 6 games, and games at home to teams mid-table and lower are where we need to be looking for them.

If we play like we have been, then we've a good chance of getting said win. If we play like we have been known to though then Vale will murder us.

A big game Saturday, and I hope the boys are up to it.

Huge game and one we need to be getting something from just to settle the nerves a little bit.

Hopefully last night's painful ending adds a determination to put it right rather than hit confidence and DC's reset from tomorrow works.

Looks like we have sold out almost three and a half of the four away end blocks judging purely from our ticket site so should be decent numbers.

Hopefully Cheltenham have a decent pitch as Vale Park is killing us at the moment and we seem to play our best football on the road, need to add last nights efforts and performance and hopefully have some forward options back rather than playing wingers up top again. Had some decent battles with Cheltenham down recent seasons and despite their form (ours isn't much better) we all know Vale love to give a side a leg up!

1-1 I reckon.

The pitch has been frozen for the last couple of weeks, so I'm not expecting a snooker table.

An Ice Rink is better than something that resembles a marshland that we have at home.

Sorry, appreciate I’m not a Vale or Cheltenham fan but is 18th v 14th really such a big game?

The allocation is 945.

Losing the way we did after putting in a stellar performance for 89 minutes hopefully won’t affect the players mentally. In the cold light of day there was plenty of good things to take from it. I think talk of settling nerves among our fanbase is daft. If that is the case then that just shows we have a number of bedwetters who need to get a grip, it’s been a really good season so far.

945 is the stand behind the goal, minus one block I think. If you sell that then the remaining block will be offered (taking you to around 1,100).

As valefan16 says, 18th v 14th is a nothing game to the rest of the division, but we've won 1 in 6 and need to start getting some points so that we're not dragged downwards. I can't talk for the importance to Vale though.

4-0 up v QPR still haunts! We could have 49 points with 20 to go and I would still be nervous!
Remember going with my mate (Leeds fan) to Bristol Rovers away, we were 2-0 cruising and didn't look like throwing it away and with 10 minutes to go I was still nervous, he couldn't understand it! Luckily Rigg scored a stunner and I was able to enjoy the last five minutes! (Similar in the Play Off final it took until Benning hit the third for me to chill and that was against 10 men!)

Hope Kachunga is suspended for this game, one of the worst players I have ever seen,
Evatt doesn't half sign some shit , lets hope Randell Williams isn't a complete dud as he has shown nothing so far.

Kachunga's record as a striker n England is dire , why Evatt signed him I don't know, at least he has one assist apparently.

It’s time for the Burton annual home defeat to Oxford. Que Eric back on the forum for one weekend.

Sadly I'm not looking forward to this game, we really need to be winning this but the team just don't give me any confidence. Pleased House will be back but still that blooming central midfield area is so, so weak in numbers and quality.

Will there be any late additions? Will Hopper be gone leaving us with the one senior striker? Will the tactic be Regan Poole acting as the out ball as a right back!?

I don't think you're anywhere near Wednesday, Ipswich or Plymouth. For 70 minutes the other night you had very little plan or pattern. You just threw on loads of forwards and hoped for the best and fortunately it worked out for you.

Bearing in mind that we had no strikers on the pitch and our two best players and captain out....really you should have been wiping the floor with us if you have any aspirations of the top 2.

You'll make the playoffs but fall short in my opinion.

Well the issue for Derby is simple, they are what 18 unbeaten? but haven't really closed the gap at all because the top two are in equally good form. Over the last ten they have lost 2 points on Wednesday and only gained 3 on Plymouth. They will make the play offs but its two from the current top 3 going up auto.

Does mean a high chance of a Derby/Ipswich POF I would say though.

Can't understand how people seem to see the autos as a three-horse race? Derby are effectively ONE POINT behind Ipswich and we are just 3-4 games over the halfway stage of the season. They have a talented squad and a manager who has been promoted automatically from this league twice.

Either Argyle or Wednesday (or both?) will likely have a sticky patch as the finishing line approaches. In my opinion, Derby have a serious chance.

Seen them play us twice this season. They have 2 or 3 quality players padded out with a bang load of average. Will it be enough for them? We'll have to wait and see but they didn't look like a promotion team the other night.

I preach the 'keep ticking over' mantra quite a lot on our forum, it just never gets you too far from the bottom four when you can't beat those around you!

Derby will also likely have a sticky patch though as well. 8 points off second and don't look as good as the others up there in terms of general quality. They will make the play offs but as it stands top 2 now likely go up come May. Yes they've won 5 in a row in the league but 3 of them against relegation battlers, 1 against Bolton at home and scraped a last minute win against an injury ravaged Vale side.

How are they effectively one point behind Ipswich, games in hand aren't points on the board.

Warne has done wonders getting them into the fight but let's not forget the wages they must be paying out.

We will have a sticky patch as will those around us, fortunately it won't be a Portsmouth style sticky patch of about 15 games.
