Excellent win by the Cods. After a bright start by both sides the first half settled into a dour affair. Come the 2nd Fleetwood were well up for it, MOM Carlos Gomez Mendes scored a good opener and then laid on goals for Rooney and Earl. It was a good team performance all round, much needed and a real confidence booster ( well actions speak louder than words )

I don't know why you did, it's literally how we've played to get the recent results we've had! It's only been the last 6 or so games we've moved to that system.

Losing Mandroiu to injury was a biggy, he's got a bit of x-factor about him by the looks of it (admittedly he's not been available too much to us so that's based on limited viewing).

We don't have the personnel or options to necessarily attack teams or suddenly change a system to make us more threatening, it's is what it is. The way we currently set-up is best for us at the minute until we can add something up front come January. In one respect it's good because we can win games with one goal but it also relies on us being pretty flawless in defence.
I get that tactic against a Sheffield Wednesday or an Ipswich, but we were in lower mid table before the game. There was literally no intent to even push for a goal on the break. You had 0 shots and 0 shots on target in the first half....I wouldn't expect a non league team to not have a single shot against us in a half of football.

We played reasonably well I thought at times, perhaps without the flair in the final pass. We did well considering how many injuries we sustained and two of our better players in Smith and Wilson not starting.

Two strikers injured and we have literally nothing going forward.

Dons were shite, but they didn't have to worry about us because we could still be playing now and we wouldn't have score.d

Dear God I can't wait for Alfie May to come back.

We played alright I thought, Sammy Robinson was quality when he came on, I know he’s one we are developing for the future but he had their left back inside out.

He looks a really good footballer. The ball sticks to his foot when he dribbles. Looks like a player that could go a long way.

We were tripe for first 20 mins and benefitted from a keeper error to go ahead and then a debatable pen but we take it and move on

Ummm...don't now about that Posh were as bad as they have been all season in the second half, but you lot could have been there another two weeks and still not scored.

Solid core though, Jones and the one with girls hair, were great at the back and Digby was MOM for me, but its a team totally devoid of any creativity and the forwards look very short of goals. Just typical scum hustle, bustle...

See you next year at the Stalag Shabbey, which may well be the last time we play you in another 20 years.
See you next season because your lot won’t be going up. The mid table derby.

Somehow got out of Fratton Park with taking a point back to Shropshire. Pompey battered us but a mixture of poor finishing and very good, resolute defending from our backline kept the scores level. Once Pompey get their injured players back, they should finish in the top 6 going off todays game.

We really could do with 3 points against Oxford a week on Wednesday to keep up with the top 6.

Steady on sunshine! We're on the same points as you and I haven't even thought about top 6!

I feel like we're in about our right position currently. Not quite good enough for the top 10 but better than most below us.

Burchnall said we controlled the game and he must be right, I mean just look at those lovely possession and pass percentage stats. Who cares about silly things like creating chances or having shots.

Some of our fans will start saying it let’s be honest!

We are in a good position. I wanted 25 points by 5pm Boxing Day so to be on 22 now and probably disappointed with that with the dropped points against Cheltenham and the FGR game and a few knife edge games we fell short in so it’s all positive progress.

We haven’t got the squad quality of some sides or money but do have probably the best owners and one of the leagues better managers which helps. We’ve invested heavily in the coaching staff (got ex managers in the back room such as Flitcroft, Dunne) plus Crosby who managed us second half of last season so it’s coming on.

If you think to that 6-2 on Lincoln’s last visit and compare the club then to now it’s thankfully a completely different club.

Let’s keep feet on the ground try and keep the points ticking over and see if we can get the 50 up as quickly as possible to secure our status to make it as comfortable as possible. We are doing better so far than I expected.

Agreed we will not go up...it will be touch and go if you stay up though. Could be another 20 years before you get to play your more illustrious neighbours again?

Lets hope not...

Absolutely awful. No shots on target and defence all over the place. Doesn’t help with our keeper and best CB out injured on top of all our other injuries but the overall performance was poor, couldn’t get anything going at all. Matt looked alright when he came on.
Relief goalkeeper Thomas was awarded MoM.

2nd game in 8 this month that no FGR player was awarded a card. Last was 1st game of month v Burton that FGR also lost!

Some hilarious reading on the Lincoln socials, after the Ipswich/Vale love in we’ve gone back to facing Billy big bollocks clubs again only in this case it’s a club that is being Billy big bollocks that was getting sub 2000 fans a few years back and has a lower average attendance than us!

Caused a bit of a chuckle. We are a far far different club from the decaying mess they faced when they beat us 6-2 whilst on their renaissance period.

I’ve almost calmed down after that! Dreadful defending and composure from the team, including our keeper. Shocking.

I’ve watch the goals back now, I don’t know how their third stood though. Clear shove in the back on the player who would have been able to potentially prevent the goal.

I thought our second could have been offside based on the limited camera views, but there were no complaints from the Charlton players? If it was then share the spoils but christ, another goal against us which was dubious.

We’ve had some decisions our way now during the season but we’re still well down on the points each incorrect decisions have caused.

A main cause of the draw was our shocking defending, I’m not going to disregard that. In the last two games we’ve dropped 3 two goal leads, at least the one at Port Vale it didn’t cost any thing in the end. Christ knows where the defending during the first part of the season has gone.

And that's why you should ignore social media. Certainly doesn't give a true reflection of supporters views. Think we all agree its a frustrating end to the month which was ridiculously difficult on paper, and overall picked up some very good points. Nevermind!

No complaints from the Ipswich players either.

Your second was definitely offside.

That’s the standard of officiating at this level, MK Dons were awarded a penalty against us on Tuesday for a foul 2 or 3 yards outside the area.

A battling performance from us at Bolton. It was actually an enjoyable watch. Not because we won, but because we actually looked someone threatening. We are showing early signs that all is not lost though we’ve recruited horribly so battling performances are all we can offer right now. Mid-table mediocrity beckons barring an unbelievable run of form.

Kyle Joseph is starting to show signs of being a very good player at this level. He works ever so hard.

Bolton weren’t bad by any means. They just got schooled and we don’t school anyone!

Fair enough. When the cross came in, the camera couldn’t see John-jules so I wasn’t sure.

We had a fair few of ‘offsides’ though according to the fan in your stands blowing a referees whistle when we were in good attacking positions.

Very frustrating at the moment. Really need some of our four injured midfielders back. Mingi and Tunnicliffe have coped ok since being thrown in but we are in big trouble if one of them breaks down.

Cowley was interviewed in the week and made some cryptic comments about the injury situation, and how he's not too happy about it. This was taken by the majority of our fans to be some sort of criticism of the medical staff. However, I wonder if it might have been a dig at our two Welsh midfielders Morrell and Lowery. Both have an outside chance of making the Wales World Cup squad and it's possible that they aren't willing to risk themselves before the squad is picked. If this is the case then I can see why Cowley is a bit pissed off. I may be wrong but it does seem possible.

I saw that the other day and I didn't even think it was a foul. Then yesterday the exact same thing happened and the ref didn't give it. Naturally, having got one the other day, the MK team and fans were furious.

I love that despite how poor we've been in the last 6/7 games, we find ourselves 5th with one or two games in hand on most other teams. This league really is poor.

I suspect it's the latter, he likes players who'll play through the pain barrier. We had a few here who wouldn't train all week then be rolled out on a match day.

Sounds plausible but surely if they were only on the fringes of the squad they’d need to be playing to force their way in? Seems a bit counter-productive to me at least if that is the case.

Difference being, Vale staying up would be an achievement with only just getting promoted last season.

We’ve been here 8 consecutive seasons now so it’s fair to say we’re an established League 1 club. We spent a tidy amount in the summer (nowhere near to the extent of your Sheffield Wednesday’s, Derby’s, Ipswich’s, Pompey’s, etc) but still it’s a big budget. Club openly came out saying that they wanted at least a top half finish with a push for play offs. If we weren’t decimated with injuries (especially losing our top scorer Udoh for the season very early on) then I’d say that we would probably be even higher. We’re not happy with just staying up anymore as supporters as we know we can be up there as we have done in the not too distant past.

Illustrious…hmmm I’m not so sure about that.

Bankrolled with fraudulent money isn’t something to be proud of. Once the fraud has enough and by the sounds of it that could be next season you’ll be heading down the leagues.

Tom_ITFC Actually just seen it back and your player (Woolfenden?) shoves Thomas first straight into your other defender.
