Result never looked in doubt but the way we crumbled second half was an absolute embarrassment. Credit to you though, a million times better than us from minute 1 to 90.
It happens to us all and is what makes nights like tonight special but only part of the tapestry.

Chanced on the perfect away day after a crazy FA Cup late winner and the perfect 3rd round draw. We were talking about Lincoln and Gillingham, as well as Mullinesque finishes from Joey, as we walked away floating on air

Crescent Moon and Venus over Whaddon Road created a nativity scene as the wise men congregated; Goat Curry and Coconut IPA, opening goal from returning Sam Smith and perfect hat-trick from Big Joe, 3 points when most assumed a draw would be success then a couple of pints of Ice Breaker IPA on Cleeve Hill to finish.

On to Barra v Salford tomorrow night. Can it get better?

Whoever comes in next has to turn it around fairly quickly or otherwise I could see things become very toxic at Ipswich. And once that happens, forget about anything else, Ipswich will be focused on trying not to get relegated to league 2 like Bradford City a few years ago, who were aiming for promotion similarly to them.

Edit: didn't realise I was responding to a fellow Charlton fan.

Well it's been a long time coming, but worthwhile waiting. A good workmanlike performance against a very mediocre Bolton side. Yet again Fleetwood turned to their academy players with so many 1st team lads injured/suspended, and they did themselves proud. Hopefully this will give us the bounce we need as the next few games are against teams in the mire like us.....like I said earlier I could'nt see where a win was coming from, oh yeah of little faith

Haven't got time to type too much but Crewe's first penalty is an absolute joke, it a yard outside the penalty area with the ref looking straight at it!

We now have one CB for Saturday - one off with concussion tonight and his replacement sent off!
Looks like it was on the line in the video. The kind of foul that you hardly ever see given in the area.

A much needed 3 points. Deserved aswell I thought. The most impressive thing is looking at the starting lineup. Only two players over 23. Richards (27) and Mandron (26) certainly shows whatever happens this season the future is still bright for us. Have to keep reminding myself Zac Williams is still only 17. He might just be the most complete 17 year old we've ever had come through our academy, and we've had some good ones. Getting him signed up to a long term contract has to be a priority.

I didn’t say you did but it was mooted by a Bolton fan before the season started. In respect to us, we have zero confidence, half the first team injured, no leadership on and off the pitch, we are a shambles and I thoroughly expect relegation.

Maybe like us you need to take one step back to go forward
Plenty young decent managers hungry out there and plenty of players out of contract who are decent enough for lge1/2
Dont see any improvement in us this season and will need to copy last January recruitment to kick on.

Think it was Evatt who said it and not a fan on here

Fair enough on Evatt, problem is we can’t afford to take a step back and should never have been in this position. It’s as if a lightning bolt has hit our board this week and they are realising what needed to be done in the summer now has to happen in January but I fear it’s too little too late

Bet you still cant believe that eh Cambridge fans? Duff didn't talk to the players after the game saying he will talk to them Thursday morning but He must take some criticism, it was quite obvious playing three tens wasn't working after about 'ten' minutes but still he continued, his options were limited but he had options. Wright should have come off at half time and bringing on Vassell and Joseph on when he did was all too late.

Cambridge didn't have to do much for any of their goals and played some nice stuff when they went four up prior to that no team was setting the place alight, conditions weren't great but professional players should take this into account.

Some serious questions need to be asked now as nine goals have been shipped in the last two games to teams below us in the league. I expect a shake up on Saturday with a few established players missing out.

Cambridge fans your no.2 Williams was getting some stick last night but reacted well and was genuinely funny for the last five minutes of the game.

Pompey should have won that. I said I’d take a point last week, even more so after seeing the back 3 and again more so playing 25 minutes with 10 men. Peacock-Farrell was outstanding.
Though I said I'd take a point beforehand, no doubt we should have won last night. Inspired display by Peacock-Farrell frustrated us.

Still an encouraging display though. The Cowleys managed to paper over the lack of midfielders.

Certainly not, I was expecting a defeat if I’m honest so to come away with an convincing win is very pleasing.

Thought you lot put in some pretty hefty challenges in that first half, one on our winger especially, hopefully no serious damage is done but he’s only just come back from being injured so to lose him again will be annoying.

Currently getting tonked 5-1 at Rovrum, and they’ve missed a pen too

I thought you played some decent stuff and were unlucky to go in 2 - 1 down at half time.
Freddie's goal was really lucky and your goalkeeper was unsighted as Miller's shot came through numerous bodies.

Second half though we improved and the sending off finished the game.
I hope you get some players back fit to give Evan's and Raynor the chance to move you up the table.
They got a great reception last night as they should.
Evans was never everyone's cup of tea here, but back to back promotions deserve recognition.

Our game plan will never set the world alight, because we will be dogged and hit on the break, like Duff said in his post match interview Cheltenham are not a good side yet and that's the same with us. We played like the underdogs and worked our nuts off for the 90 mins and we got our rewards for it.

Our pressing was excellent and forced you into poor errors and we took advantage on a poor night for you. Our 5th Goal was an excellent move which again come about from pressing you high up the pitch. I think we'll both get to the 50 points and survive comfortably.

Last night was shite, but the boys (and Duff of course) have enough credit in the tank for a performance like it. I'm seeing some people go a bit OTT on Twitter and the like, but I'm over it already.

There's no point Duff lambasting the players straight after the game, they knew they were shite and him screaming at them will make no difference.

My biggest disappointment of last night was that we didn't even get the basics right. Sean Long, a player in the running for player of the season, couldn't pass to a player a couple of yards away. Are they a bit jaded, were they just not cut out for the conditions? Who knows? But we dust ourselves down and move on to the weekend.

That's the great thing about League Football, if we win 1-0 on Saturday last night will be a distant memory.

I usually check out Duff's pre and post match interviews and for the past few weeks he appears to have lost his air of confidence. This is the first time in his managerial career that his team are experiencing a poor run. He does not look a happy man.
I would not be surprised if he cuts and runs.

Wigan seem to be getting late winners all the time lately. 7 ahead of us now with 2 games in hand. Crewe, Burton and Accrington our next 3, We’ve got to be taking maximum points there before a big game at Sunderland.

I couldn't disagree more. We've lost 2 games in 10 (the last two). We had a dodgy spell last season, and even one this season when we got pumped 5-0 by Sunderland.

Duff is quite clear in his ambitions, but also his family life. His wife is from Cheltenham and they've moved home so she can be closer to her family. If he's going anywhere it will be relatively local, and to a non-basket case club. The only step up locally is arguably Bristol City. If they sack Pearson, I'll be concerned. Until then...
