We had this last season. Convinced you two will be up there. And us after getting suckered today. It's a really long season. Cream will rise to the top.

I actually thought we played some good stuff second half today. Fair play to Gillingham though I admire them digging in. It's a great away from home three points that. They'll know we're a good side walking off despite the three points in their pocket. We still have some key players to come back too.

Problem being is there’s lots of cream which might rise to the top

I know Bradford are saying how poor they were today but we actually looked like a football team. Players trying to get blocks in, closing down (two players coordinating a press!) and showing for a pass.

No way are we troubling the top ten but at least teams will have to play a bit to beat us.

Klaidi Lolos could be a big player in the second half of the season. Making poor choices and not quite getting it righ todayt but after stepping up from conf south that's to be expected. Potential !

After the total dross from last season to say I'm happy is an understatement.

We won. :woot:

Great result for us away at Tranmere, looks like we’ve got our system working nicely, the winning goal was a stonker, and I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but we may have signed the best midfielder in this division (Campbell). Well happy, and didn’t even mind getting drenched.

Penalty aside, no real clear cut chances for either side at BP. Encouraging for Eastwood to save a pen and rebound on his debut and all new signings okay. Rodgers and Maher look like a solid partnership at the back going off that. Was a decent pace to the match, but lacked any proper quality. Poor delivery in general from us but some tidy build up play. Said in pre-season that I'm not sure Danny Rose is a focal point lone striker in a three alongside Eisa and Vernam and I saw nothing to dissuade me there.

Wimbledon were solid and defended well. Al Hamadi looked dangerous but lacking composure, might have been a different story had he not had his pen saved. Seemed to carry a threat from corners, think they'll score a few as the season goes on.

Fair result all in all.
Wasn’t there but sounds very much like we’ve had two consecutive games of two teams completely cancelling each other out save a freak own goal in the first one. Seems like we may passed it a bit better today but final third nothing different.

Where are these idiots now who want 4 teams to go down from L2 and 4 to come up from the conference?

So much for there not being any difference in quality between the two leagues.

Just look at how great the 2 greatest ever non-league teams did today haha!

It just goes to show how little pre season results count for anything. We were absolutly dire and I was dreading getting a drubbing at Wrexham. Madness.

Mind you, I've probably been suckered in by the Wrexham hype as well.

First half we played far too deep, second we were much better however we still look very disjointed. Harrogate were well organised and the better side overall but toothless as really they should have beaten us by more. Saying all that we we’re still better than last season

Really disappointing not to win today, and despite a bit of a typical mini Mansfield implosion we played really well, had some great chances to win the game with 10 men and DKD was so unfortunate not to get a hat trick.

As has been said, the players we have are better than last season but we still don’t really look like scoring. Neither team got close to each others goal really, minus the penalty (Clifton probably should’ve been off for that?). Kamil Conteh however is superb and won’t be here come next season.

Great late win for us in an entertaining game, could have gone either way but we knicked it from a set piece.

Some hefty time added on going on, new directive taken a bit far.

We had a new ref to the EFL today apparently who was shambolic for both sides, add this rule and the new timewasting yellow card ruling, there's going to be a lot of suspensions this season. It was comical at times today.

Imagine what an absolute joke the National League must be for those two to have got well over 100 points. Gotta be pub league standard at best.

Should be reduced to 1 up 1 down MAX.
Bollocks to that - I’d make them apply for election to the league. Especially Scunthorpe, if they ever get back to the NL.

The meltdown if we get battered by Grimsby will be quite spectacular

It's first game of the season and you can see from some of the scores around the country its like pre season continued. I just expected us to not wilt so spectacularly

LW gave a good post match interview and I'd expect a few changes ahead of next weekend

As a few of us have said despite him getting both goals him going for the hat trick when a basic pass to akins makes it 3-0 was criminal, really poor play, despite scoring 2.

Had that been done it was game over, yet we allowed a pretty poor side back into the game, crewe we’re poor and there for the taking, it’s 2 points dropped.

With 95% of Bradford supporters already thinking that they were going to win even before a ball had been kicked, because every league table has us bottom, fewest points to be won in a season and relegated by March - but no one has taken the fact that plucky little old Crawley Town, a team of no hopers are going to play football to the best of their ability and are going to surprise many sides- Bradford paid the price first - Cook didn’t get a look in all game, Jay Williams made sure of that. OK the sending off helped but apart from a couple of half chances at the end didn’t look like scoring. Where as the no hopers could and possibly should have scored at least 4 more. Thats a bonus 3 points.

Nice start for us. Helped by the sending off but I think we would have scored goals without it (Notts would have definitely scored more than 1 without it). Notts look decent going forward and with the ball. Look very vulnerable at the back and lack height. Probably good to get exposed in that area early. Overall I think they’ll still likely do well. I thought Langstaff looked a threat, obviously McGoldrick decent and some nice bits from Bostock.

We’ve definitely improved in wide/attacking areas and have options. How good we shall see.

If Wimbledon are a good side then I’ll be less disappointed than I currently am. The disappointment comes from the fact the performance mirrored loads of others last season, yet all our new signings looked very good.

All can change, but we’ve failed to address our biggest issue from last season based on that performance alone.
Shah don't tell anyone bit once we get going we are a good side.

At least this time we only dug in, rather than build a wall like we did at your place last season.

I know you had some injuries but we were missing Masterson, Dieng and Hawkins who we normally rely heavily on. We are also looking to sign an extra striker and winger so at the moment 1-0 was the most we were ever going to win by against a team heavily tipped to win the title.

Pretty optimistic that we will be in the shake up once we hit our stride, as I am sure you will be.

I think we might also be interested in that lad from Harrogate that the Stockport/Wrexham fans want

We had nine minutes and were one of the first games to finish, and that's seemingly without any big incidents. It surely can't be healthy to be playing the first half of extra time every week and there must be a balance.

Sutton fan how did Omari Patrick do today?
He was man of the match. Scored 2 goals and was a general menace. A little lucky to only be booked for shoving one of our lads over the adverts, but the sort of performance that made me wish we’d been in for him.

We were fucking awful. Anyone who watched Notts regularly last season knew we had weaknesses that national league teams generally weren’t good enough to exploit, but Sutton managed to, pretty brutally.

I do think we’ve kept players on who just aren’t good enough. Shitting it for the rest of the season.

Defensively we were a car crash, largely influenced by that fucking donkey Ash Taylor.

Going forward we were ok, had enough chances to score but as usual nobody can finish.

Unless we decide to sign some wing backs or switch to a back four and sign some wingers we won't do anything.

Crawley are dreadful mind. They'll go down, no danger.

Tell you what, 10 minutes of injury time when you’re 5-1 down with 10 men is a punishment I wouldn’t wish on any Mansfield fan.

He wasn’t booked, wasn’t even given as a foul.

You’ll be able to have 10 minutes injury time when you've been battered at field mill in February

Just something to look forward to love x

I was seeing postponement in the 9th minute of extra as the thunderous clouds loomed large!
