What a weekend; all three top clubs lose.
Salford did well to get to play offs with fine run but inexplicably lose to Colchester.
As usual FGR get a player sent off against Tranmere.
But FGR are possibly back for the play-offs.
And so is Tranmere.
On every occasion that these clubs have met in play offs they have been promoted, so the other 2 clubs in play-offs be wary, be very wary.
ROVERS will be playing in League 1 next season. :bye:
If you and Exeter win and we lose, the Rovers of the Tranmere variety won't make the play-offs. With our form since Vaughan got injured, that wouldn't be a surprise.

Of course a loss changes it!!. Morecambe will beat us next week, no problem, meaning you need to go and beat an unpredictable Creepy away next week, or its play offs
If Morecambe win, we had to win with a draw today regardless. The only way it comes into play is if we lose and Morecambe draw, in which case a point today would have had us up.

Whilst I am sad to see a good well supported club like Grimsby relegated, why is it harsh, the current squad have had plenty of chances to save you
The current crop earnt enough points to stay up over the course of a season in the past couple of months, they lost 3 of the final 14 games.

Only saw the last half an hour but from what I saw we thoroughly deserved to win. And I think we finished with 6 academy players and a teenage keeper against their multitude of big name players.
Surely if we can win our last 3 in a row we would deserve to be in the play-offs.

Double mini-FGR celebration today.
The team are back in play-offs and they now have the proud record that no team has done the double over them this season.
I think I'll have a drink or three tonight :woo:

Just on Monty I am absolutely certain that will have been for dissent. He does it all the time and can’t help himself pushing the boundaries with the refs.

Card looked out before he said anything on IFollow. It’s soft, Green gets away with an elbow on Legge twice, their lad hauls Theo down when he’s goal side one on one not given and Pope is hauled down when about to head home from 6 yards and it isn’t given, was just one of those games. His assessor was in the crowd apparently!

Disappointing to lose the run in a game like that, especially as it was one of the more one sided games of that run but we’ve had one on one saved, hit post, one off the line, awful referee and gift them their only chance of note from a shocking error by Joyce. Just one of those games and thankfully was a dead rubber. 9 times out of 10 we win that.

Need to finish strong next week now and get this mess of a season over with.

Lose to Oldham and a draw against Barrow will do me. Commiserations on your 8th placed finish.

Didn't know it was possible to be so pissed off despite already being promoted. That was an utterly shit performance.
All the good sides have a shitter when getting promoted...Lincoln 0-3 Colchester!

As you rightly point out there is plenty to play for on last day of season.
And that includes Championship title and play off finalists.
I'm really looking forward to next weekend.

No, before that we were losing to Barrow and failed to beat Southend. And we failed to have shots on target against Newport and Forest Green, so if we finish below then it's our fault.

Not sure I'd agree. 72 points and miss out on play offs is harsh.. 3 wins out of 3 in our last 3 too (if we beat barrow). Conceded how many in our last 8 games? Come on ya beauties.

Well there we are. The utter arrogance of some of our fans pre-season and during this run has lead to this point. We’re now in a position of hoping other results go our way because, let’s be honest, the second Crawley score one we ain’t winning.

We’ve talked about being in this division because we fell on hard times, as though we’re somehow above it. Bullshit. We’re in this division because we deserve to be. And now we need to exercise a little more humility and a little less hubris and realise we’re not entitled to promotion. No more than Morecambe, no more than Cambridge. We have to show respect to our opposition and earn it. The scenes outside our ground today were nothing short of disgraceful.

And before I get the inevitable backlash from some quarters: it’s not banter. You don’t get to banter with clubs who have been here and done it when you’ve just taken your seat at the table. It’s like the drunken guest at a party that no one knows, going around and being overly familiar with people, taking the piss wherever he can because in his mind it’s all fun and games. It’s not. Everyone there just thinks you’re a dick.

We have 90 minutes to grow up, grow a pair, and try again. And if we’re here next season take absolutely nothing for granted.

Those chasing a playoff place next week won't get any favours from us as we're playing Nerdford and have not really been putting the effort in at all the last few weeks - So they will win.

Shock horror we failed to score again.

Scunthorpe must be fucking terrible if they couldn't beat this lot.

Yeah, nailed it.

I can't really complain about the fans that turned up in good faith, probably hoping to join a bit of a celebration if lucky. But the scenes after ft are a disgrace, people have taken kids, not expecting a riot.

IF we get promoted then it is one of the greatest turn arounds in football history.

Steady on. Not sure the biggest club in a division spending a shit-ton of money in a January window where everyone else was selling off their assets to survive a pandemic is particularly deserving of a place amongst that particular pantheon.

I will raise you the Copa Ibiza winners 2003/04

I watched Sky Sports News this afternoon. You were robbed with the Peterborough penalty. What a bunch of cheats.

Absolutely battered Oldham, we gave away a comical goal though, which is the norm to be fair. That’s the biggest thing alongside signing a actual goal scoring striker we need to sort out.

Commiserations to Southend, even though the drop had looked inevitable, it's never pleasant when it finally happens.
