Another tough away fixture for the Salop who are in the middle of a tough run at the moment. Sheffield United drew 1-1 with Walsall on Saturday and played well in the second half. Surely it has to click for them at some point?

Heading to Sheffield more in hope than expectation. We need to be a bit more adventurous than the first half at Wigan to have a chance of getting something.

I'll go for a 2-1 home win

So glad im missing our promotion season.

Feel sorry for Adkins at the same time as thinking hes part of the problem. Hands tied due to the funds given out Clough and subsequent poor players on large wages and contracts.

Incredible! :eyes:

Nobody saw this one coming but based on what I've been listening to we're very good value for the four goals and could easily have had a couple more.

Adkins made three half-time substitutions, strangely including bringing on two defenders, so he doesn't have anywhere else to go now tonight.

A very unexpected and very welcome three points tonight, but a win which may have come at a price with several key players, including Zak Whitbread, barely able to finish the game with injuries after man of the match Ian Black had to be substituted with injury.

A result which gives Town a little bit of breathing space in the middle of what is a very tough run of games. Gillingham, Walsall and Peterborough up next before a few games against the teams around us.

Tonight should give the players a confidence boost but it's still difficult to see us picking up many points in the next three games.

As for Adkins, he was a complete arsehole when we played his Southampton team in the FA Cup a few years ago so I can't have any sympathy for the bloke.

Tonight has started our annual winter horror show - so don't worry about our game too much.

Just back. What a result! I predicted the 2 home goals, but nobody would have thought we'd score 4. First half we looked dangerous going forward, a couple of headers going close before we scored. Must say the defending from the Blades was horrendous. The early goal from Collins, who couldn't seem to control the ball in the first half, was vital to settle any nerves.

Once the fourth went in, it seemed that the sole tactic from Sheffield United was to get the ball to the keeper's hands, who would then lump it up field. I expected a bit more from them, but Town defended well, despite the 2 goals conceded.

Black played well in midfield but took his usual couple of knocks. Of greater concern is the injury to Whitbread, who pulled up clutching his leg a minute after we had made our final sub, so he was limping around for the last minutes at the back. Hopefully hasn't done too much damage, but didn't look good. It looked like cramp for Kaikai, or at least I hope it is!

Bring on Gillingham, and hopefully a repeat of the 7-0 win in 2008, which I missed that season. Less said about Wembley the better!

The Blades need the core of the squad that has been there for a few years on heavy wages ripping out and starting again around the good players they have. Collins, JCR, Coutts, Hammond etc. Bring in some permanent premier league youth lads and spend what you would pay current players in wages on transfer fees to get players that are young with potential to improve. It's the only way I can see them getting promoted again.

Its gross mismanagement that Sheffield United haven't managed to get promoted with the budget they have at this level.

Our core hasn't been around for a few seasons. Bar Collins and Baxter....and if they're the sum total of our core its pretty obvious why we're fucked

Clough screwed us over last season and Adkins has a hard job but he's still made a mess of it.

Baxters our only good player and in fairness to him he is actually performing at the minute too. Brayford and harris at full backs are good enough to stay, adams and done too. Terry kennedy should be playing centre half not be out on fucking loan and mcnulty is far better than sharp too. If he starts with that useless c*** again on saturday i will be a very unhappy man hes got to go with sammon and done up top.

Are you being sarcastic, Collins, Campbell Rice, Coutts and Hammond ? Good players ?

We're fu**ed

Knives aren't out for Adkins yet but at the moment he's looking like a busted flush. He's brought 5 players in admittedly the rest are Clough or Wilson players ? The results and performances speak for themselves

No - not sure if it came across in the wrong order - the bit that needs ripping out are those players, they aren't the 'good ones' that need keeping.

I've done my dirty work on Blades Mad. I know how it is.

JCR beats a player 6 times and then fluffs the cross. Flatters to deceive every time

Nope.

More that they are the ones needing to be got rid of.

Thank god for that. Brayford, harris, adams, kennedy(out on loan absolutely bizarre), baxter, done and mcnulty( on loan also bizarre). There the only players who id be happy to keep the rest are a waste of space well maybe flynn and basham too although the latter seems to have lost the plot. Basically were fucked we all knew we needed a new gk and new centre halves but for some reason fuck all got done about it and its costing us dearly. A lot of the shit is down to clough but adkins is fucking up too hes sent our best centre half on loan he persists on playing that useless c*** sharp every game he still has no idea what team or tactics to play either hes looking a bit clueless in all honesty but we cant just keep changing managers for fun its getting us nowhere.
