EEL hasn't actually played the last few games anyway, the back three has been Basham, Wright and OConnell.

I'm probably not the best to answer who can make the step up but I'd imagine:

Moore, O'Connell, Fleck, Coutts, Carruthers and Sharp probably could.

Basham, Duffy, Freeman, Hanson maybe could.

Wright and Lafferty probably not but fine as back-up.

Eel doesn't play anyway now he's shit I've no idea what wolves are playing at giving him a new deal. It's gonna be a very tough ask if we do go up to stay up with our current team but I'm sure we will spend a bit.

I agree he dived but for once it wasnt the refs fault its the disfraceful footballers that trick them and should of been a sending off too. But like you say we also dominated entirely you never had a chance all game.

Shipped out is a harsh assessment of Carruthers and Moore, O'Connell is still young so not fair to judge him on previous seasons as he's obviously still improving (same for Moore). And Sharp, well, he's Sharp.

Your last comment is obviously the most important too, it's about what Wilder is getting out of them. Not what other managers failed to.

Regards EEL. He's a man mountain and our weakness for 2 years (since selling Harry Maguire) has been dealing with crosses and we always looked vulnerable defending corners. When EEL came he massively improved this area and quickly became our saviour and cult hero. HOWEVER oppostion managers have sussed we are now strong defending crosses but they know EEL is terrible with tricky small quick strikers running at him. He's looked a liability dealing with tricky players and he's also made the odd blunder. In fact it's a bit weird, he signed a new improved 3 yewr contract at Wolves in Jan and he's not looked the same player since. He's no longer playing for his livelihood and future. However the fans have decided EEL has some massive strengths but also some weaknesses and doesn't look up to Championship standard. He's too inconsistent.

Regards which of our players are good enough for the Championship, it's hard to say because we don't have any real stand out players. They are ALL playing really well as a team. Chris Wilder seems to manage to get a team playing better than its individual parts and we've played some of the best (easy on the eye quick passing) football I've seen SU play in 30+ years.

According to the BBC stats we've now has more possession than the oppostion in our last 20 consecutive matches and had more shots on targer and off target in 19 of our last 20 matches and more corners than the oppostion in 19 of our last 20 matches.

I'm fairly confident we'll have a season like Barnsley next season, just above middle with an outside chance of playoffs. Our weakness is finishing. In general we need about 5 chances to score a goal, our midfield is brilliant but not likely to score many either. Of course I'm sure Wilder will get a competitive budget next season.

We look head and shoulders better than any team in league 1 so I'm looking forward to playing teams that come at us instead of sitting back defending in numbers.

It's a real miracle what Wilder has done. He's far better than Neil Warnock both on and off the pitch. Although I believe some credit should go to his assistant Alan Nill too.

I think for any managers operating at league 1 and 2 level then Charlton Athletic are a very attractive proposition even with your current broken regime. Karl Robinson has a good reputation, the rumours are that last season he turned down the Leeds job and the Sheff Utd job, so your club can't be that bad to be able to attract someone like Karl Robinson. Although I see he's doing the same with you that he did with MK. Everytime I check the stats it seems that CA have dominated the game, played well, missed loads of chances but unluckily lost, usually to a last minute goal. When we played Robbos MK Dons early in the season their possesion, passing, build up play was really impressive, looked a really good team but no penetration up front and never looked like scoring.

Personally I think Wilder was willing to join Charlton, he's a former player and it's a step up from any of his previous clubs but when SU heard he was willing to leave Northampton our Chairman panicked and quickly made him aware of our interest.

What a great position to negotiate a contract when there are other potential offers on the table. He was always going to prefer SU as he and his assistant Alan Nill still live in Sheffield and he already knew our players, strengths/ weaknesses before taking over. Would love to know the truth.
