Yup, classy area. I lived amongst the woolies in Whiston for a time too, even classier.

On a side note, I wouldn't be at all surprised if you neither attend games or even come from Liverpool. You bang on about this type of thing entirely too much, it's like you're trying too hard to be convincing. You remind me of an old United fan called Probono on TFF, who used to bang on about attending matches and calling non-match goers pricks and Liverpool fans bindippers etc. It turned out he came from Texas.

I believe people who get annoyed by trivial enjoyment should be embarrassed. Own what you do and more people will be responsive to your actions. It's a better way to promote local football than insecure haranguing.

Yup, the drive from North Wales can be a bit of a nightmare in rush hour. ;)

Funnily enough ( and i know you wont of seen this) a local programme shown how most of Liverpool was built by the welsh and that Birkenhead was technically the birthplace of scousers as the vikings landed and settled there first.

You're right, I didn't see it. But I knew about the link to Wales anyway.

I think what people have to realise is that not all "football fans" are the same or have that much in common at all at times. Match going Premier League fans don't have much in common with League Two match going fans who in turn have little in common with those who watch lower non-league football. And then you have those who consume football from their favourite armchair.

None of these fans are "better" than any other. I often cringe at the praise fans get for travelling 100s of miles for an away game. They do it because they enjoy it. They'd stay at home otherwise. In the same way people who watch football on TV (and pay a lot of money) do so because they enjoy it. People who complain about not being able to afford to go are often the same ones who can fork out £££ for a Sky subscription and a nice telly. All about priorities innit.

YOU'RE WELCOME.

I used to spend quite a bit of money going to Anfield on a regular basis, but I just don't get round to it as often as I used to. I think it's because I travel so much through work that I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Planning to go in November though.

The table of dignity

1. Supports local team and goes to the game.
2. Supports local team and doesn't go to the game.
3. Supports team with zero connection them but goes to the game.
4. Supports with zero connection and never goes to the game.
5. Supports MK Dons in any capacity.

Swop Swinedon for MK Dons and you have nailed it. I am somewhere between 1 and 2 , support a team not local but manage a few games

Number 2 should also state 'if they can afford to'

If we're gonna be all serious on the topic, I'm not sure how people can stand going to the same ground over and over again. I'll probably go to a PSG home game if we draw Man City but going to the same ground twice a month is just dull. Was a ST holder for 2,5 years and that was ended by most of the supporters groups being dissolved (for being c*** that is) but I wasn't that bothered. Away games are the best thing in the damn world (especially European away games) and I just don't understand people who go to see their team and ONLY their team. You get that a lot in the lower league grounds where fans don't miss a single game of their team and complain about not doing the 92 or some other bollocks. If you want to visit a new ground just do it, even it is at the expense of missing a precious home game. You won't get your #1 fan medal this time, big fucking deal.

Yeah I'm a groundhopper.

I try and go to at least one new ground a season, finances permitting. Otherwise I will watch a local non league side, especially if they are having a decent run in the FA Cuo or Vase ie AFC St Austell last season

Hmmm, I think maybe you've missed the point of supporting a team with that one.
