I thought this massive clash deserved a thread, so here we are.

Can we avoid conceding within the first 5 minutes? Will Saunders go for Gardner over Ariyibi again? And will Ollie Banks score a hat-trick and put in a MOTM winning performance and stick two fingers up at his doubters ( include myself)?

Tune in at 7:45 Tuesday to find out.

Shrewsbury win. We're too soft to battle away from home. Banks couldn't tackle a fish supper. I know nothing about Angel Martinez but hopefully he starts ahead of Ollie. We miss Jimmy Ryan so much... not that he was some super-combative midfielder but he definitely put more graft in than his replacement. I think Hird and Evatt are frequently exposed and that just doesn't go well when you're playing away.

Do you get exposed a lot while playing away?

Clucas, Roberts, Darikwa....

But yeah, it's probably Jimmy Ryan who we miss the most. A player who is comfortable on the ball but who would also put himself about if need be. Hope this Angel turns out to be a good 'un but Spanish midfielders aren't typically foot-in, dogged type players which is what i we need i reckon. But i don't know anything about him, he could be exactly that.

Be following this from Ibiza. The all-inclusive bar will ensure my disappointment at defeat is suitably brief. WiFi is so shite in this hotel that I'll have to nip up to reception for updates.

No idea what will happen.

Went in to Barnsley worrying about us rolling over, and we won.

Went in to United thinking we could push them close, and they ended up with a comfortable scoreline.

Instinct says either a defeat or sneaking a draw.

I reckon 1-1. Just hope we don't lose as the meadow was a fortress last season (w17 d4 l2) and starting off with two home defeats would put the home fans into mild panic I fear!

Town lucky to have nil, Chesterfield could have had this game wrapped up by half time but their finishing was woeful.

Hopefully we can only get better in the second half!

0-2 to Chesterfield doesn't sound very difficult....Shrewsbury obviously finding League 1 tough to get used to...there's time yet

Good win, that.

Sam Morsy is a god. Could be bittersweet though, if he's adding goals to his already pretty accomplished game, interest in him is only going to increase. I hope we're dangling a big juicy contract offer in front of him. We really need to do everything within our power to keep him (for little bit longer at least).

Nice one lads. My reports suggest it was a very comfortable 2-1. 6/9 represents a great start now.

Great win.

I think a major concern for this season was that we'd be totally out of our depth, like Yeovil last season. However, we're very much not that. Assuming that Saunders is allowed to get one more defender in, and we keep Morsy until at least January, then I think we will have little problem in staying up. I'm literally just counting down to 50 points, anything past that is a bonus, considering the players we lost and the summer Saunders had to deal with.

Shrews fans I see Matt Tootle is getting a bit of stick from your fans.

Honestly I haven't a clue why you signed him, he did suffer from a couple of injuries last season and he's been unfit for almost a year now but it was well documented (although the media never reported it) that he spat his dummy out over not getting the big move Dario promised him (probably because he was stuck in a pitiful defence). I loved the guy, he was a fans favourite because of his passion, leadership and how he accepted responsibility for poor performances unlike a certain manager of ours, but because of that it hid the obvious flaws in his actual game of which many of our fans were oblivious to. You'll find his fitness is generally poor and he's very defensively suspect at times. I also think in a squad with a few old heads like your lot his leadership skills won't stand out.

I know for a fact if you started him against us next month Colclough would have him on toast, and I expect us to finish 24th this season!

Not at all surprised to see Ebanks-Blake bagging, showed glimpses of his quality in his short cameos here.

I didn't go on account of being in the middle of the north sea, but how did the new lads do? Novak & Martinez? Sounds like O'Shea had another cracker. He's relishing having more of a part to play I think

44 more points to go!
