We are going to embarrass ourselves arent we?

Things need to change off the field before on the field at the moment.

There seems to be a growing confidence amongst some of our fan base that we may be able to get something out of this game. In reality as long as we give a good account of ourselves then we will be happy.

We managed to give an in form Chelsea a run for their money as well as beating Leicester last season, and took Palace to extra time in the league cup earlier this season.

It'll be interesting to see what side United put out given the result on Thursday.

Very flat game. Shrewsbury haven't got anything, their fans are shit and we're trundling along to an eventual goal.

That goal was summed up by the cheer it got. Yay!

Sneaky free kick routine #2 pays off - 2-0.

Definitely shouldn't have counted that free kick. Good hit though, but yeah 3 players offside, and while they're in those positions there's no way it's not interfering with play. Wouldn't have made any difference though.

Even when making an allowance for the huge disparity between the teams relative positions this has been very poor from Town.

Mellon has got his tactics wrong. Town have three centre back to take care of Martial whilst Ogogo and Black have no chance in midfield against better players and worse still outnumbered by better players.

Mellon must switch to a back four in the second half and get another man in the middle of the park in attempt to get more possession, otherwise this could get very embarrassing. I'm not bothered about losing this game, it's what everyone expected, it's not having a go that bothers me.

Shrewsbury will wake up in the morning and be bitterly disappointed. They really havent acquitted themselves well. They had nothing to lose and havent "gone for it" at all.

So true, at least Mellon has switched to 4-4-2 for the second half. We may as well have a go, no point in doing otherwise.

Dreadful decision to allow that to stand, a shame we couldn't have gone in to halftime at 0-1, that second goal killed any chance of us getting back into it, unlikely as that was looking.

The commentator has just done that retrospective bullshit of significance saying Shrewsbury knocked out Man City in '79 like it was a big deal. They do it with Chelsea all the time too.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.

City were top flight and Shrewsbury in the third division. That's been a 'big deal' in the FA cup forever.

But City were scrapping around relegation. Not such a big deal. It was more of the manner in which it was mentioned which also happens with Chelsea that's groan inducing.
