That 3-0 win at Sheffield United has put a bit of belief back into the team but our form is truly disastrous and the main reason for the 3 goals being scored on Tuesday (Nile Ranger) is out for 6 weeks.. Will be good to see if Tuesday was just an odd result and we're still shit or we have turned a corner.

I always see a trip to Southend as a tough game so regardless of your recent form, I'll head to Roots Hall thinking we'll have to play very well to get a result. I've seen enough from our performances so far to know we can get a result tomorrow, but I hope DC doesn't go down the 3-5-2 route again. We look SO much more menacing when we go 4-4-2 and make the opposition worry about us rather than setting up conservatively.

I'll say 0-1 Rovers, but only because you have to be confident going into away games or there's no point going!

I've been to see us play at Southend many times and if my memory serves our record there is pretty poor.

It certainly looks like it's going to be another tough match after Southends 3-0 win away at promotion favourites Sheff Utd. That will have surely done wonders for their confidence so they'll be buzzing going into this one.

DC has made 5 changes in both of our last 2 games so I have no idea what team or formation he's likely to play. Like ComeOnIrene above, I'd like us to go 4-4-2 but trust DC to choose the correct tactics for the opposition.

Gosling has just gone out on loan and I assume Byron Moore, Liam Lawrence and Lee Mansell are still injured so providing everyone else is fit it will be the same squad as the opening 3 games. We're still waiting for the 4 new signings DC keeps saying he's going to make.

I'd be fairly happy with a draw. Southend 1-1 Rovers

Can only say by what I heard on commentary but that feels like 2 points lost there.

Apparently the penalty was pretty dubious, more ball to hand and then it happened twice for Southend (although outside the box) and we didn't get a free kick for it. Plus a clearance of the line and last ditch blocks in the last 20 minutes leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Would have taken a point before tbf, but can't help but feel disappointed now

Absolutely pathetic penalty decision cost us 2 points today. Pathetic refereeing for the third game in a row for us.

One of those games you come away from feeling absolutely gutted.

Southend were better for the first 25-30 minutes of the game, but overall we can count ourselves very, very unfortunate not to have won the game. After going 1-0 up we defended well and looked capable of scoring again on the counter attack. Then the referee decides to gift the home side a penalty and they inevitably equalised. We could/should have scored a winner in the final few minutes with how many efforts we had on goal but it just wouldn't fall for us.

It's frustrating that for the second away game in a row we've not capitalised on a 1-0 lead to claim 3 points. You can kind of accept the Scunthorpe one because they were a very good team and played really well after equalising against us, but that wasn't the case today. I do put our start so far down to bad luck/poor refereeing decisions, though I think it's clear we need to be more clinical.

Ridiculous penalty decision robbed us on the day.

We started slowly and Southend had most of the play for the first 20 minutes but after that I thought we were the better team. Always looked like 1 goal would win it and that would have been the case if not for the ref.
