Due to an unexpected 'safety' issue with the website tonight, we have had to 'reset' the website to last nights settings - meaning anybody that has posted, or signed up today will be lost. The safety issue has now been resolved and we will be keeping daily (if not more) back ups of the website as well as ensuring all servers are properly protected.

We now believe that the main reason that the website was offline tonight and this morning was down to malicious outside interference - hence files going missing/being changed/lost/deleted. At one point this evening there was a chance of us losing ALL content, but thanks to the heroics of TB - we've managed to get everything back, bar todays posts/members. This, whilst very annoying, is a small price to pay for what could have been a much bigger loss.

Finally, I would just like to apologise and thank everyone for their patience again. This wasn't the hosts fault, it wasn't our fault - more the outside reference from earlier. We will try to ensure our systems are bulletproof and daily backups are taken to prevent something like this happening again. 1FF is also a learning curve/something new for myself and TB, so we cannot promise everything to be perfect right at the beginning of the website - but more that the on time improves and the website continues to grow in a proper and safe manner!

Thanks for your patience and really sorry again guys!
Admin.

It might be a good idea to stick this message in announcements as well. Anyone with a problem is likely to look there first.

It's some ask to deal with the unexpected workload so suddenly. Both of you are doing terrific jobs. Thanks for your continued efforts.

Server, mysql, admin pw's all updated, suspect add-ons all completely removed from the server. Full scan shows no exploits, Feels like a recurring theme but this time we really should be OK. We'll be running without some add-ons for some time until site stability is proven.

Tractor Boy sounds sensational.

Yep. Although I do the stuff we can see in terms of the day to day running - TB does everything technical, and that's far more important than the content...as we need a site to have content written on first. I'm about as technical as a zip. So we'd be totally fucked without him.

Half an hour spent writing down every single football ground I've ever been to.

Thanks though. That was a close shave!

Well done to the team for the recovery. Sounds stressful.
Is there any evidence of password tampering? I thought I'd change mine but the site does not recognise my existing password. This could be ineptitude/memory loss on my part so just seeing if anyone else has encountered this.

I was thinking the same thing to be honest Tom. A zip is quite an intricate design, generally robust and an extremely useful modern day invention.

Rad perhaps you could have compared how useful you are at the technical side, to something like maybe a wet fart or some form of single cell pond life. Just to give a bit more clarity to the reader.

Great save though TB. Must have been a stressful couple of hours!

So does this mean my "How to hack an internet message board" thread has been deleted?

The site seems to be down more often than not.

Any idea when it is going to be stable?

It should be fine now and has been mostly. Turn your router off and back on at home and if not doesn't solve it - clearing your cache will. We had problems with certain people loading the site Becuase our new server banned peoples IP's when we moved across. Shouldn't be any problems at all now, we've been uninterrupted for near 2 days now, so it's not on our end, as such any longer.

Ah thanks guys. This is the first time in two days i've been able to go on so this explains it - My computer always seems to make it difficult for me to get to suspected dodgy sites a little while after everything is sorted.
