So what have I to look forward too on my travels next season?

I am looking forward to going away next season to most places. I have really missed being at the "match" and of course next season we should be more competitive than we have this season

Oh, something else that you might not know: WE DO NOT EAT COD. It's a bottom feeder, so always full of worms and 'shit'. WE EAT HADDOCK. You will have to ask for Cod if you must have it, but expect a strange look when you order it.

I massively prefer Cod to Haddock, its a no from me.

FYI Haddock is also a 'bottom feeder'.

While Steels is great non Grimsby folk would be happy with the chippy next to the ground, despite being poor by Grimsby standards it will be amazing to everybody else, as they only have chippys that have never heard of scraps, sell frozen birds eye fishcakes and give you a funny look if you ask for gravy on your chips
Didn’t think people outside of the North East knew what scraps were.
Cod isn’t a bottom feeder though.

Oh we know what scraps are too. If you got funny looks having gravy on your chips imagine their disgust when you ask for chips, cheese and gravy.

Went to an away weekender once when Barrow were at Dagenham or someone and discovered London folk like chips with a cooked breakfast. Wrong on all levels.

Chips go with everything mate.
At least that's what Nathan Ashmore says.

When we were younger & we wanted fish & chips, you asked for tail end & chips.
Don‘t know why it was called that,it was passed down from our parents, but you always got strange looks asking for it when out of the area.

Yes, Haddock is a bottom feeder, but not as prolific as Cod.

Grimsby 'fish wives' who's job it is to gut fish (they are very handy with knives) will tell you that they find all sorts of 'filth' in Cod compared to Haddock and it takes longer to clean Cod because of this.

PS. I like Mushy Peas!

When I'm in the chippy I always go for Haddock if it's there. Just thought I'd drop that bombshell on you all.

Scraps are called batter bits where I live now. Back in the south west they don't have a name as they're not a thing.

Chips with a cooked breakfast is definitely wrong though.

I had a Chilli Dog and Chips for breakfast once (at an American Air Base on the Azores) and I'm still alive and kicking (just)!
