Welcome Rovers, reckon they should be strong contenders to bounce back next year. Can well imagine though Barton will be on a short leash next year if things don't go well.
Like all teams, it depends on the summer. The issue is that Garner recruited the worst, most disjointed squad I’ve ever seen only last season - and guess what, they’re all on 2/3 year deals.

May as well chuck the hat in the league 2 ring for next season. 3-0 down at Franchise. We are in for a long battle next year.

oh good, another non descript southern side in the league urgh.

At least bristol is a decent weekend rather than nearly getting killed on that sodding roundabout

At least you’re going down in flames. We’re just getting boring 1-0s

Haha. We've conceded 84 goals this season and the players had given up weeks ago. Today was beyond ridicule. Just let Franchise do what they wanted with the ball. On and off the field we are a total shambles. The next weeks and months are crucial in what we do next season.

At the start of this season I'd have said yes as I was in London, but we've now moved to Northamptonshire so isn't a fixture that I'll be making any effort to attend.

Sutton would be perfect! I’m in London now and will hopefully be buying our first house in the next year in and around Surrey.

Silver linings and all that

The sad thing is that even despite another woeful defeat we wont be seeing Argyle next season.

Would say Northampton are now left needing snookers almost to try and get out of it. Can’t see it to be honest. Easy away day for me at least speaking selfishly.

Dale slightly got a better chance but just think Wigan will eke out another win and same for AFCW also.

Yeah Wigan and AFC WImbledon deserve to stay in L1 they have shown a bit of fight when it was needed. Rochdale and Northampton to follow now.

a bit annoying that i cant update the original thread.

Swindon and bristol down

i can’t say i remember much about the swindon fans but the bristol fans were always decent, had some real classics with those down the years - a 2-1 for them when 10 men beating our 9 men, or their fans blaming us for relegating them when we clearly had nothing to do with it.

Either way, not that they’ll be thrilled but a weekend down in bristol will be readily appreciated, a class city.

Always found the Swindon fans sound. We’ve largely found ourselves in the same division as each other over the years so there might be a misery loves company aspect to it anyway.

As you say I’m sure Rovers fans won’t reciprocate that right now but that will be a good one against them next season. Great city to go to and for us DC v Barton should be worth the admission alone.

100% your fault we went down to non-league and no one elses. In our own shirts as well you bastards.

Then what 7 years later you came in and stole our manager whilst we were 4th in L1 in December 2019. Since then we've won 12 league games and are a L2 team.

I officially consider Mansfield our biggest rivals and my most hated team.

Welcomed over the situation and that way it happened, which I stand by. In general though, I was delighted with what he was doing for us. There was a section of the fanbase who didn't like this style of football though and wanted him gone, oh the irony.

It did bring me a bit of joy seeing him fail though, I will admit.

Hows Menayese & Clarke done this year?

menayese couldn’t kick a ball, i’m surprised the lad ever got a job as a football, as such he was fucked off to grimsby to assist their trailblazing season.

As for clarke he was one that really has made a difference, given our position in the league i appreciate it probably sounds daft but we’ve got one of the better midfields going, it’s just everything else which is the problem currently.

Surprised at Rollin. In the small amount of appearances he made for us, he looked solid and pacey. Think at Swindon he was a bit flakey though, but happy to be corrected.

Clarke is just solid. In honesty probably not good enough for L1 as he goes missing too often, but you can guarantee he'll give you 100%, score a couple, get 9 yellow cards and get injured - but a great player overall. Would have made a huge difference for us this season tbh. Exactly the sort of player we've missed.

After a dodgy first couple of games Menayese has been absolutely brilliant for us, hoping that he will stay here whichever league we end up in.

we’re lucky to have him.

he’s like the only benefit of coughlan who seemed to have the touch of an army major who knew nothing about football

In fairness coughlan had the ability to make everyone look shit, though menayese was particularly crap.

I wish him well wherever he goes,‘presumably to someone fun place in the conference

Please don't make me go to Northampton again. Cant Wigan or Wimbledon have some form of collapse, I'd even take a 30 point deduction for Lincoln for no reason

Since he has joined us we have conceded 23 goals in 19 games and 6 of those came in his first three games when he looked suspect since then he got going and has been one of our best players with just 17 conceded in 16 games.

Prior to him arriving we conceded 40 in 24 games!

He's good enough for most lge 2 club and still young so plenty to improve.
